Abstract: The physicochemical changes of the instant green tea powders added with β -cyclodextrin and sodium ascorbate stored at 4°C and 25°C were investigated by determining moisture, polyphenols, caffeine, amino acids, catechins, color, sensory quality, and the total microbial count. The results showed that addition of both β -cyclodextrin (6%, w/w) and sodium ascorbate (2%, w/w) reduced the changes of moisture, polyphenols, and catechins contents, helped to maintain the sensory quality, and limited the microbial count. The low temperature (4°C) was also found to maintain the sensory quality and limit of the microbial count of instant green tea powder. The combination of low temperature and addition of β -cyclodextrin with sodium ascorbate were the best treatment for the storage of instant green tea powder. These results could provide useful information for the quality improvement of instant green tea powder during storage.

Abstract: Enhancers are a class of noncoding DNA elements located near structural genes. In recent years, their identification and classification have been the focus of research in the field of bioinformatics. However, due to their high free scattering and position variability, although the performance of the prediction model has been continuously improved, there is still a lot of room for progress. In this paper, density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) was used to screen the physicochemical properties of dinucleotides to extract dinucleotide-based auto-cross covariance (DACC) features; then, the features are reduced by feature selection Python toolkit MRMD 2.0. The reduced features are input into the random forest to identify enhancers. The enhancer classification model was built by word2vec and attention-based Bi-LSTM. Finally, the accuracies of our enhancer identification and classification models were 77.25% and 73.50%, respectively, and the Matthews’ correlation coefficients (MCCs) were 0.5470 and 0.4881, respectively, which were better than the performance of most predictors.

Abstract: Background . Primary hyperparathyroidism (pHPT) in pregnancy is a rare event, but it poses a significant risk to mothers and fetuses. The optimal treatment strategy remains controversial. Methods . We present a consecutive series of twelve pregnant women with pHPT. Results . Twelve women were diagnosed with pHPT during pregnancy or in the postpartum period. Four of them presented no symptoms or mild symptoms. Four patients experienced serious complications, including hypercalcaemic crisis, acute pancreatitis, and eclampsia. Another four patients were identified postpartum as the result of neonatal convulsion with hypocalcaemia. Minimally invasive parathyroidectomy (MIP) under cervical plexus block was successfully performed in 11 of them during pregnancy or postpartum. The serum levels of ionized calcium and intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) were much higher in patients with severe complications in this cohort than those in the group of patients with no symptoms or mild symptoms and patients who were diagnosed postpartum. Conclusions . MIP under cervical plexus block might be a safe and effective treatment for pregnant women with pHPT. Even though both conservative and surgical treatments are applicable for most mothers and fetuses with asymptomatic and mild hyperparathyroidism, serious complications may have catastrophic consequences for both.

Abstract: Purpose . To determine the influence of physicochemical parameters on survival in metabolic acidosis (MA) and acute kidney injury (AKI) patients. Materials and Methods . Seventy-eight MA patients were collected and assigned to AKI or non-AKI group. We analyzed the physiochemical parameters on survival at 24 h, 72 h, 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months after AKI. Results . Mortality rate was higher in the AKI group. AKI group had higher anion gap (AG), strong ion gap (SIG), and apparent strong ion difference (SIDa) values than non-AKI group. SIG value was higher in the AKI survivors than nonsurvivors and this value was correlated serum creatinine, phosphate, albumin, and chloride levels. SIG and serum albumin are negatively correlated with Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation IV scores. AG was associated with mortality at 1 and 3 months post-AKI, whereas SIG value was associated with mortality at 24 h, 72 h, 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months post-AKI. Conclusions . Whether high or low SIG values correlate with mortality in MA patients with AKI depends on its correlation with serum creatinine, chloride, albumin, and phosphate (P) levels. AG predicts short-term mortality and SIG value predicts both short- and long-term mortality among MA patients with AKI.

Abstract: Dracocephalum tanguticum and Dracocephalum moldavica are important herbs from Lamiaceae and have great medicinal value. We used the Illumina sequencing technology to sequence the complete chloroplast genome of D. tanguticum and D. moldavica and then conducted de novo assembly. The two chloroplast genomes have a typical quadripartite structure, with the gene’s lengths of 82,221 bp and 81,450 bp, large single-copy region’s (LSC) lengths of 82,221 bp and 81,450 bp, and small single-copy region’s (SSC) lengths of 17,363 bp and 17,066 bp, inverted repeat region’s (IR) lengths of 51,370 bp and 51,352 bp, respectively. The GC content of the two chloroplast genomes was 37.80% and 37.83%, respectively. The chloroplast genomes of the two plants encode 133 and 132 genes, respectively, among which there are 88 and 87 protein-coding genes, respectively, as well as 37 tRNA genes and 8 rRNA genes. Among them, the rps2 gene is unique to D. tanguticum, which is not found in D. moldavica. Through SSR analysis, we also found 6 mutation hotspot regions, which can be used as molecular markers for taxonomic studies. Phylogenetic analysis showed that Dracocephalum was more closely related to Mentha.

Abstract: To explore the effect of miR-1 on neuronal apoptosis in rats with stroke through the ERK signaling pathway. Methods. Forty male rats (180-220 g) were selected and randomly divided into the sham, model, miR-1 inhibitor, and miR-1 mimic groups (10 rats per group) by average body weight. Cerebral ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) models were established using a modified middle cerebral artery wire thrombosis (MCAO) method in rats in the model group, miR-1 inhibitor group, and miR-1 mimic group. After the successful model establishment, the miR-1inhibitor group and miR-1 mimic group were intravenously injected with miR-1 inhibitor and miR-1 mimic, respectively, once a day for 3 days. The sham and model groups were given the same dose of normal saline. TTC staining was applied to detect the cerebral infarct size and calculate the infarct volume. Histopathological changes in the hippocampus of rat brains were observed by HE staining. Flow cytometry was used to detect neuronal apoptosis in rat brains. The mRNA expressions of miR-1, ERK1/2, Bcl-2, and Bax in rat brain tissues were determined by QRT PCR, and the protein levels of ERK1/2, Bcl-2, Bax, and caspase-3 were determined by Western blot analysis. Results. Compared with the sham group, the neurological impairment score, cerebral infarct size, and volume of rats in the model group were significantly increased ( p 〈 0.05 ). Compared with the model group, the neurological impairment score, cerebral infarct size, and volume were significantly increased in the miR-1 mimic group and significantly decreased in the miR-1 inhibitor group ( p 〈 0.05 ). In the model group, the hippocampal tissue of rats had malaligned cells, neuron cell atrophy became smaller, the intercellular spaces became larger, and vacuoles appeared. Compared with the model group, the miR-1 inhibitor group could effectively alleviate the pathological changes in the hippocampus, and the miR-1 mimic group could significantly add to the pathological changes in the rat hippocampus. Compared with the sham group, the mRNA expression of miR-1 and Bax in the brain of model rats increased significantly ( p 〈 0.05 ), and the mRNA expression of ERK1/2 decreased significantly; Compared with the model group, the miR-1 and Bax mRNA expressions in the brain tissues of rats in the miR-1 inhibitor group were significantly decreased, the ERK1/2 and bcl-2 mRNA expressions were significantly increased, and the miR-1 and Bax mRNA expressions in the brain tissues of rats in the miR-1 inhibitor group were significantly decreased, and the Bcl-2 mRNA expression was significantly increased ( p 〈 0.05 ). Compared with the sham group, neuronal apoptosis was increased in the brain tissues of rats in the model group and miR-1 mimic group. Compared with the model group, neuronal apoptosis was decreased in the brain tissues of rats in the miR-1 inhibitor group. Compared with the sham group, the ERK1/2 proteins in the model group were significantly decreased, the Bcl-2, Bax, and caspase-3 proteins were significantly increased, and the ERK1/2, Bcl-2, Bax, and caspase-3 proteins in the miR-1 inhibitor group and miR-1 mimic group were significantly increased. Compared with the model group, the protein levels of ERK1/2 and Bcl-2 in the miR-1 inhibitor group were significantly increased, the proteins of Bax and caspase-3 were significantly decreased, and the protein levels of ERK1/2 and Bcl-2 in the miR-1 inhibitor group were significantly increased ( p 〈 0.05 ). Conclusions. miR-1 can interfere with neuronal apoptosis in rats with stroke through the ERK signaling pathway.

Abstract: Rheum species present a significant economic value. Traditional Chinese medicine rhubarb is an important medicinal material in China. It has a long history of use, with a record of use as early as two thousand years ago. Here, we determined the complete chloroplast genome sequences of Rheum nobile and Rheum acuminatum and comprehensively compared them to two other available Rheum cp genomes at the genome scale. The results revealed cp genomes ranging in size from 159,051 to 161,707 bp with a similar typical quadripartite and circular structure. The genome organization, gene numbers, gene order, and GC contents of these four Rheum cp genomes were similar to those of many angiosperm cp genomes. Repeats and microsatellites were detected in the R. nobile and R. acuminatum cp genomes. The Mauve alignment revealed that there were no rearrangements in the cp genomes of the four Rheum species. Thirteen mutational hotspots for genome divergence were identified, which could be utilized as potential markers for phylogenetic studies and the identification of Rheum species. The phylogenetic relationships of the four species showed that the members of Rheum cluster into a single clade, indicating their close relationships. Our study provides valuable information for the taxonomic, phylogenetic, and evolutionary analysis of Rheum .

Abstract: The multiconsensus problem of double-integrator dynamic multiagent systems has been investigated. Firstly, the dynamic multiconsensus, the static multiconsensus, and the periodic multiconsensus are considered as three cases of multiconsensus, respectively, in which the final multiconsensus convergence states are established by using matrix analysis. Secondly, as for the multiagent system with input delays, the maximal allowable upper bound of the delays is obtained by employing Hopf bifurcation of delayed networks theory. Finally, simulation results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis.
