Abstract: ZnO thin films were deposited on quartz glasses by a radio frequency (rf) magnetron sputtering. The mechanism for stoichiometry in the ZnO thin films was investigated by adjusting Ar/O 2 working gas ratio during deposition. The optical emission spectroscopy (OES) in situ measurement revealed the kinetics species variation during rf plasma deposition process. It was found that the intensity of the excited atomic oxygen (O*) was increased with the oxygen ratio increasing, resulting in enhancing the oxidization effect during ZnO film fabrication. On the contrary, the intensities of atomic zinc emission were gradually decreased, resulting in the zinc ratio in the film were decreased with the oxygen ratio increasing. Therefore, it is possible to control the stoichiometry of ZnO film by simply adjusting the working gas ambient in the rf plasma deposition. The structural and optical properties of ZnO thin films were investigated as well.

Abstract: Recognizing cloud type of ground-based images automatically has a great influence on the weather service but poses a significant challenge. Based on the symmetric positive definite (SPD) matrix manifold, a novel method named “manifold kernel sparse coding and dictionary learning” (MKSCDL) is proposed for cloud classification. Different from classical features extracted in the Euclidean space, the SPD matrix fuses multiple features and represents non-Euclidean geometric characteristics. MKSCDL is composed of three steps: feature extraction, dictionary learning, and classification. With the learned dictionary, the SPD matrix of the cloud image can be described with the sparse code. The experiments are conducted on two different ground-based cloud image datasets. Benefitting from the sparse representation on the Riemannian matrix manifold, compared to the recent baselines, experimental results demonstrate that MKSCDL possesses a more competitive performance on both grayscale and colour image datasets.

Abstract: Nowadays, with the development of media technology, people receive more and more information, but the current classification methods have the disadvantages of low classification efficiency and inability to identify multiple languages. In view of this, this paper is aimed at improving the text classification method by using machine learning and natural language processing technology. For text classification technology, this paper combines the technical requirements and application scenarios of text classification with ML to optimize the classification. For the application of natural language processing (NLP) technology in text classification, this paper puts forward the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) text classification algorithm. In the experiment of distinguishing spam from legitimate mail by text recognition, all performance indexes of the TPM algorithm are superior to other algorithms, and the accuracy of the TPM algorithm on different datasets is above 95%.

Abstract: Inhalation of nebulized TP has received little attention in the past. Here, we intend to investigate the effect of nebulized inhaled TP on airway inflammation in a mouse model of asthma. 29 SPF BALB/c mice were divided into four groups: blank control (Blk, n = 5), normal saline (NS, n = 8), dexamethasone (Dex, n = 8), and TP (n = 8). During the process of sensitization, mice in the three intervention groups were treated with nebulized NS, an injection of Dex, and nebulized triptolide, respectively. Then bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), peripheral blood, and lung tissue were collected. Relevant cytokines, transcriptional factors, and CD4+Th17+ T cell proportions were assessed and compared. IL-6, IL-17, IL-23, and TGF-β1 demonstrated a significant difference between groups in the following order: Dex  〈  TP  〈  NS ( P ≤ 0.001 ), while IL-10 changed in the opposite direction ( P 〈 0.001 ). At the transcriptional level in lung tissue, the Ct value of IL-17 in the Dex group was significantly higher than in the NS and TP groups ( P 〈 0.001 ). Meanwhile, it was higher in the TP group than in the NS group ( P 〈 0.001 ). The Ct value of RORγt demonstrated a significant difference among three groups in the following order: Dex  〉  TP  〉  NS ( P 〈 0.001 ). An opposite trend of FoxP3 Ct value was revealed in the order: NS  〉  TP  〉  Dex. The proportion of CD4+Th17+ cells was 9.53 ± 2.74% in the NS group, 4.23 ± 2.26% in the Dex group, and 6.76 ± 2.99% in the TP group, which shows significant differences between the NS and Dex ( P 〈 0.001 ) or NS and TP groups ( P 〈 0.05 ). Inhalation of nebulized triptolide can play a role in suppressing airway inflammation with inflammatory cytokines and transcriptional factors reduced and CD4+Th17+ T cells dampened, also in a manner less than injected dexamethasone.

Abstract: To compensate radar reflectivity for attenuation effect, a new method for attenuation correction of the radar reflectivity using arbitrary oriented microwave link (referred henceforth to as ACML) is developed and evaluated. Referring to the measurement of arbitrary oriented microwave link, the ACML method optimizes the ratio of specific attenuation to specific differential phase which is a key parameter in attenuation correction schemes. The proposed method was evaluated using real data of a dual-polarization X-band radar and measurements of two microwave links during two rainstorm events. The results showed that the variation range of the optimized ratio was overall consistent with the results of the previous studies. After attenuation correction with the optimal ratios, the radar reflectivity was significantly compensated, especially at long distances. The corrected reflectivity was more intense than the reflectivity corrected by the “self-consistent” (SC) method and closer to the reflectivity of a nearby S-band radar. The effectiveness of the method was also verified by comparing the rain rates estimated by the X-band radar with those derived by rain gauges. It is demonstrated that arbitrary oriented microwave link can be adopted to optimize the attenuation correction of radar reflectivity.

Abstract: Objective. To explore the molecular mechanism of sevoflurane-induced neurotoxicity and to determine whether lncRNA HOXA11-AS affects sevoflurane-induced neuronal apoptosis and inflammation by regulating miR-98-5p/EphA4. Methods. Morris water maze (MWM) test was used to detect the learning and memory ability of rats, HE staining was used to observe hippocampal pathology, TUNEL staining was used to detect the level of neuronal apoptosis, and RT-qPCR was used to detect the expression of HOXA11-AS, miR-98-5p, IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α. At the same time, the contents of IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α in serum were detected by ELISA. The expressions of apoptosis-related proteins EphA4, Bax, Cleaved caspase 3, and Bcl-2 were detected by Western blot. The dual-luciferase gene reporter verified the targeting relationship between HOXA11-AS and miR-98-5p and the targeting relationship between miR-98-5p and EphA4. Results. The expression of HOXA11-AS was observed in sevoflurane-treated rats or cells and promoted neuronal apoptosis and inflammation. HOXA11-AS was knocked out alone, or miR-98-5p was overexpressed which attenuates neuronal apoptosis and inflammatory inflammation after sevoflurane treatment. Furthermore, knockdown of HOXA11-AS alone was partially restored by knockdown of miR-98-5p or overexpression of EphA4. Conclusion. Inhibition of lncRNA HOXA11-AS attenuates sevoflurane-induced neuronal apoptosis and inflammatory responses via miR-98-5p/EphA4.

Abstract: Both epithelial-to-mesenchymal (EMT) and endothelial-to-mesenchymal (EndMT) transitions have shown to contribute to the development and progression of kidney fibrosis. It has been reported that apelin, a regulatory peptide, alleviates EMT by inhibiting the transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) pathway in renal diseases. Additionally, fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) has been shown to be a key inhibitor of EndMT through suppression of the TGFβ/Smad pathway. In this study, we found that apelin and FGFR1 were spatially close to each other and that the apelin and FGFR1 complex displayed inhibitory effects on TGFβ/Smad signaling as well as associated EndMT in diabetic kidney fibrosis. In cultured human dermal microvascular endothelial cells (HMVECs), we found that the anti-EndMT and anti-TGFβ/Smad effects of apelin were dampened in FGFR1-deficient cells. Either siRNA- or an inhibitor-mediated deficiency of apelin induced the Smad3 phosphorylation and EndMT. Streptozotocin-induced CD-1 diabetic mice displayed EndMT and associated kidney fibrosis, which were restored by apelin treatment. The medium from apelin-deficient endothelial cells stimulated TGFβ/Smad-dependent EMT in cultured HK2 cells. In addition, depletion of apelin and the FGFR1 complex impaired CEBPA expression, and TGFβ-induced repression of CEBPA expression contributed to the initiation of EndMT in the endothelium. Collectively, these findings revealed that the interaction between apelin and FGFR1 displayed renoprotective potential through suppression of the TGFβ/Smad/CEBPA-mediated EndMT/EMT pathways.
