    Abstract: The present study evaluated the effects of supplemental dietary α-linolenic acid (ALA, 18:3n-3) on growth performance, body composition, hepatic fat metabolizing enzymes, and fatty acid profiles of coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) alevins cultured in freshwater. Six isonitrogenous and isolipidic experimental diets were formulated to attain different levels of ALA (0.09, 0.41, 0.76, 1.03, 1.32, and 1.68% dry weight) by adding linseed oil in a basal diet, respectively. Each diet was fed to triplicate groups of alevins (50 fish in each tank) with initial mean body weight of 0.352 ± 0.002 g. Fish were reared in a freshwater flow-through rearing system and fed to apparent satiation 4 times daily for 12 weeks. The specific growth rate (SGR) increased with increasing dietary ALA level, which reached the peak at 1.03% ALA group ( p 〈 0.05 ). The final body weight (FBW) and SGR showed linear, quadratic, and cubic responses with the dietary ALA level. The whole-body crude protein increased with increasing dietary ALA level while lipid content was the opposite trend ( p 〈 0.05 ). However, the content of crude lipid in the whole-body of fish showed quadratic and cubic responses with the dietary ALA level. In addition, except for fatty acid synthase (FAS), the hepatic enzymes activities of lipoprotein lipase (LPL), hepatic lipase (HL), and malate dehydrogenase (MDH) showed linear, quadratic, and cubic response with the dietary ALA level ( p 〈 0.05 ) The activities of hepatic LPL and HL in 1.32% ALA group were significantly higher than other groups ( p 〈 0.05 ). The activities of hepatic MDH and FAS in 1.32% ALA group were the lowest, which were significantly lower than those in ALA groups (form 0.09% to1.03%) ( p 〈 0.05 ). Except for the content of MUFA, the contents of other fatty acids showed linear, quadratic, and cubic response with the dietary ALA level. The ALA and ∑n-3 PUFA content significantly increased with increasing dietary ALA levels ( p 〈 0.05 ). These results indicated that dietary ALA actively impacted fish growth performance, hepatic lipid metabolizing enzymes, and muscle fatty acid profile. The cubic regression analysis based on SGR as evaluation indices indicated that the optimal dietary ALA content was 1.33% dry weight of diet for alevins.

    Abstract: Winter wheat is one of the most important food products. Increasing food demand and limited land resources have forced the development of agricultural production to be more refined and efficient. The most important part of agricultural production is sowing. With the promotion of precision agriculture, precision seeding has become the main component of modern agricultural seeding technology system, and the adoption of precision seeding technology is an important means of large-scale production and cost saving and efficiency enhancement. However, the current sowing technology and sowing equipment cannot meet the requirements of wheat sowing accuracy. In this context, a differential perturbation particle swarm optimization (DPPSO) algorithm is proposed by embedding differential perturbation into particle swarm optimization, which shows fast convergence speed and good global performance. After that the DPPSO is used to optimize the convolutional neural network (CNN) to build an optimized CNN (DPPSO-CNN) model and applied to the field of crops fine sowing. Finally, the experimental results show that the proposed method not only has a faster convergence rate but also achieves better wheat seeding performance. The research of this paper an effectively improves the accuracy and uniformity of wheat seeding and lay a foundation for improving wheat yield per unit area and promotes the intelligent development of agriculture in the future.

    Abstract: It is well-established that treating articular cartilage injuries is clinically challenging since they lack blood arteries, nerves, and lymphoid tissue. Recent studies have revealed that bone marrow stem cell-derived exosomes (BMSCs-Exos) exert significant chondroprotective effects through paracrine secretions, and hydrogel-based materials can synergize the exosomes through sustained release. Therefore, this research aims to synthesize an ECM (extracellular matrix)-mimicking gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hydrogel modified by gelatin combined with BMSCs-derived exosomes to repair cartilage damage. We first isolated and characterized exosomes from BMSCs supernatant and then loaded the exosomes into GelMA hydrogel to investigate cartilage repair effects in in vitro and in vivo experiments. The outcomes showed that the GelMA hydrogel has good biocompatibility with a 3D (three-dimensional) porous structure, exhibiting good carrier characteristics for exosomes. Furthermore, BMSCs-Exos had a significant effect on promoting chondrocyte ECM production and chondrocyte proliferation, and the GelMA hydrogel could enhance this effect through a sustained-release effect. Similarly, in vivo experiments showed that GelMA-Exos promoted cartilage regeneration in rat joint defects and the synthesis of related cartilage matrix proteins.

    Abstract: The aim of this study was to explore the regional characteristics of soluble sugars, organic acids, and stable isotopes (δ2H, δ18O, and δ13C) in Fuji apple and the viability of tracing the geographical origin. Totally, 181 Fuji apple samples from 2017 and 2018 from three main apple production regions in China, Bohai Bay (BHB), Loess Plateau (LP), and Northwest region (NW) were collected. The parameters of soluble sugars, organic acids, and stable isotopes in samples were analyzed with HPLC, IC, and IRMS, respectively. The results of regional difference analysis, multiway variance analysis, and correlation analysis indicated that sorbitol (Sor), glucose (Glu), fructose (Fru), sucrose (Sucr), δ2H, and δ13C can be used to distinguish the samples from the three regions. Stepwise linear discriminant analysis (SLDA) showed that the correct discriminant rate of samples from the advantageous production areas of apples in China (BHB and LP) was 82.2%, and the most effective indexes were Glu, Fru, Sucr, and δ2H. Moreover, satisfactory classification can be achieved in samples from BHB and NW, with a correct classification rate of 90.0%, and Sor, Glu, and Fru were included in the discrimination model. Furthermore, the validity of the discriminant model was verified by the prediction set. The study also found that organic acids were not suitable to distinguish the apple samples from the three regions. In addition, soluble sugars and stable isotopes could not effectively distinguish LP and NW samples, which was also the reason that the samples from the three main apple production regions could not be distinguished well.

    Abstract: A developmental model of algorithmic concepts is proposed here for program comprehension. Unlike traditional approaches that cannot do anything beyond their predesigned representation, this model can develop its internal representation autonomously from chaos into algorithmic concepts by mimicking concept formation in the brain under an uncontrollable environment that consists of program source codes from the Internet. The developed concepts can be employed to identify what algorithm a program performs. The accuracy of such identification reached 97.15% in a given experiment.

    Abstract: Four-dimensional (4D) trajectory is considered to be one of the effective means to reduce the environmental impact of aviation while increasing capacity and safety. This paper proposes an approach to optimize cruise speed profile subject to wind uncertainty, aiming to reduce the fuel burn complying with the Required Time of Arrival (RTA) constraints. The approach is based on a probabilistic framework, and the uncertainty propagation is analyzed using a Probability Transformation Method, and the probability distributions of arrival time and fuel consumption are determined. In addition, from an airborne operation perspective, transition profiles need to be considered in the reference speed optimization problem, aiming to improve the rationale of the reference trajectory. Numerical simulations are presented, and the results demonstrate that the speed profiles optimized by this method are able to meet the RTA constraints in the presence of wind uncertainty, with an average reduction of 7.04% in fuel consumption compared with that of the flight data.

    Abstract: As a natural polymer, gelatin is increasingly being used as a substitute for animals or humans for the simulation and testing of surgical procedures. In the current study, the similarity verification was neglected and a 10 wt.% or 20 wt.% gelatin sample was used directly. To compare the mechanical similarities between gelatin and biological tissues, different concentrations of gelatin samples were subjected to tensile, compression, and indentation tests and compared with porcine liver tissue. The loading rate in the three tests fully considered the surgical application conditions; notably, a loading speed up to 12 mm/s was applied in the indentation testing, the tensile test was performed at a speed of 1 mm/s until fracture, and the compression tests were compressed at a rate of 0.16 mm/s and 1 mm/s. A comparison of the results shows that the mechanical behaviors of low-concentration gelatin samples involved in the study are similar to the mechanical behavior of porcine liver tissue. The results of the gelatin material were mathematically expressed by the Mooney-Rivlin model and the Prony series. The results show that the material properties of gelatin can mimic the range of mechanical characteristics of porcine liver, and gelatin can be used as a matrix to further improve the similarity between substitute materials and biological tissues.

    Abstract: It is very important to determine the seepage behaviour of fractured rock mass infilling to evaluate the stability of the surrounding rock. The joint transfixion rate is the ratio of the unpenetrated length to the penetration length of a joint in a sample. Samples of the fractured rock mass infilling using different transfixion rates were prepared, and a TCQT-III low-permeability coal-rock triaxial seepage device was used to conduct three cycles of confining pressure-seepage coupling tests. Results show that the permeability is a power function in the confining pressure of the sample, and the permeability changes most significantly with the confining pressures. The permeability of the sample increases exponentially with the joint transfixion rate. The permeability loss is positively correlated with the plastic deformation of the sample; the permeability changes most significantly during the first cycle loading. There is over 60% recovery of the permeability of the sample under cyclic loading for loads that do not exceed the strength of the infilling. The stress sensitivity coefficient decreases as the confining pressure increases and is higher during the unloading stage than that during the loading stage for samples with an incomplete transfixion rate. The conclusions obtained in this study can serve as a reference for grouting applications.
