Kurzfassung: The design of composite joints for connecting concrete-filled double-skin tubular (CFDST) columns to steel beams supporting reinforced concrete (RC) slabs is presented in this paper. Five half-scale specimens were designed, including four composite joints with RC slab and one bare steel beam joint, and were tested under a constant axially compressive force and lateral cyclic loading at the top end of the column to evaluate their seismic behavior. The main experimental parameters were the construction of the joint and the type of the column. The seismic behaviors, including the failure modes, hysteresis curves, ductility, strength and stiffness degradation, and energy dissipation, were investigated. The failure modes of the composite joints depended on the joint construction and on the stiffness ratio of beams to columns. Joints of stiffening type had significantly higher load-bearing and deformation capacities than joints of nonstiffening type. Compared with the bare steel beam joint, the bearing capacities of the composite joints with RC slabs were markedly increased. The composite action was remarkable under sagging moments, resulting in larger deformation on the bottom flanges of the beams. Overall, most specimens exhibited full hysteresis loops, and the equivalent viscous damping coefficients were 0.282∼0.311. The interstory drift ratios satisfied the requirements specified by technical regulations. Composite connections of this type exhibit excellent ductility and favorable energy dissipation and can be effectively utilized in superhigh-rise buildings erected in earthquake zones.

Kurzfassung: System resources allocation optimization through dynamic scheduling is key to improving the service level of bike-sharing. This study innovatively introduces three types of invalid demand with negative effect including waiting, transfer, and abandoning, which consists of the total demand of bike-sharing system. Through exploring the dynamic relationship among users’ travel demands, the quantity and capacity of bikes at the rental points, the records of bicycles borrowed and returned, and the vehicle scheduling schemes, a demand forecasting model for bike-sharing is established. According to the predicted bikes and the maximum capacity limit at each rental point, an optimization model of scheduling scheme is proposed to reduce the invalid demand and the total scheduling time. A two-layer dynamic coupling model with iterative feedback is obtained by combining the demand prediction model and scheduling optimization model and is then solved by Nicked Pareto Genetic Algorithm (NPGA). The proposed model is applied to a case study and the optimal solution set and corresponding Pareto front are obtained. The invalid demand is greatly reduced from 1094 to 26 by an effective scheduling of 3 rounds and 96 minutes. Empirical results show that the proposed model is able to optimize the resource allocation of bike-sharing, significantly reduce the invalid demand caused by the absence of bikes at the rental point such as waiting in a place, walking to other rental points, and giving up for other travel modes, and effectively improve the system service level.

Kurzfassung: It is vital to understand the electromagnetic radiation’s time-frequency characteristics in the process of coal and rock failure with different joint angles in order to reveal the generation mechanism of the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and improve the accuracy of EMR early warning. We studied the time-frequency characteristics of EMR signals of coal samples with different joint angles. The study finds that, (1) with the increase of joint angle, the failure time and peak load of samples decrease first and increase later, and the postpeak failure time decreases gradually. The EMR counts’ peak value showed a slow rise, a sharp rise, and a slow rise in the three intervals of α = 0° to 45°, 45° to 60°, and 60° to 90°, respectively. The accumulated EMR counts showed a steady upward trend. The duration of the EMR waveform, the dominant frequency of the EMR, and the peak number of the frequency spectrum of coal samples are on the rise. (2) As the joint angle increases, the samples’ failure mode changes from the stage fracture dominated by tension cracks to the rapid fracture with the coexistence of shear and tension cracks and finally to the burst fracture which produces a large number of fragments. This is also the main reason for the difference of the EMR generation mechanism and the signal of samples with different joint angles. (3) According to the experimental results, we established the modified formulas for calculating the EMR threshold value and deviation of coal and rock with joints under different stress environments and revealed that the longer the EMR waveform duration, the higher the dominant frequency, and the more the number of spectrum peaks, the greater the burst risk of coal and rock.

Kurzfassung: To overcome the challenges arising from the weakness of wireless communication, this paper presents a distributed H ∞ control method for multi-AVs connected by an uncertain and switching topology in a platoon. After compensating for the powertrain nonlinearities, we model the node dynamics as a linear uncertain system. By applying the eigenvalue decomposition and linear transformation, the platoon system is decomposed to multiple low order subsystems depending on the eigenvalues of the topological matrix. The sufficient condition ensuring the robust performance of the platoon is presented by using the invariant of signal amplitude of the linear transformation. Then a numerical method is provided to solve the state feedback controller by using the LMI scheme. Only the bounds of the topological eigenvalues are necessary for this new synthesis method and the designed controller can govern the platoon composed of disturbed nodes and interacting by uncertain even switching topologies in a satisfactory way. The effectiveness of this distributed H ∞ control strategy is validated by comparative bench tests between nominal and disturbed conditions.

Kurzfassung: The rapid development of bike sharing has posed some challenges to the traffic management on campus. The bike sharing on campus has problems such as messy parking, and some buildings in the peak hours have no bikes to borrow. Thus, alternative parking spots are proposed based on the layout principle of parking spots for bicycles. An optimization model of the layout of campus bike-sharing parking spots with travel time and construction cost as the optimization goal is established, and the branch and bound algorithm is used to solve the model. Finally, the study analysis is carried out by optimizing the layout of the bike-sharing parking spot of Nanjing University of Science and Technology. The results show that, after optimizing the layout of parking spots, the average travel time of users is reduced by 6.0%, and the total construction cost is reduced by 27.3%. While being convenient for campus bike-sharing users, it also provides scientific decision-making support for the campus traffic management.
