    Abstract: The escalating epidemic of obesity has increased the incidence of obesity-induced complications to historically high levels. Adipose tissue is a dynamic energy depot, which stores energy and mobilizes it during nutrient deficiency. Excess nutrient intake resulting in adipose tissue expansion triggers lipid release and aberrant adipokine, cytokine and chemokine production, and signaling that ultimately lead to adipose tissue inflammation, a hallmark of obesity. This low-grade chronic inflammation is thought to link obesity to insulin resistance and the associated comorbidities of metabolic syndrome such as dyslipidemia and hypertension, which increase risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. In this review, we focus on and discuss members of the chemokine system for which there is clear evidence of participation in the development of obesity and obesity-induced pathologies.

    Abstract: With the improvement of living standards around the world, people's love for sports has also increased; basketball is especially loved by people. It is of great importance to provide sound motor instruction for basketball. To this end, this paper comprehensively investigates the dependence between the optimal release conditions and the corresponding shooting arm movements in basketball players. We carry out kinematic feature analysis of basketball sports videos, propose a hybrid CNN-LSTM model that can predict the arc of the shooting parry, and identify the key movements of the arm joint that produce optimal release velocity, angle, and backspin in short-, mid-, and long-range shots. The experiment demonstrates that the model has three rigid planar links with rotational joints that mimic the shoulder, elbow, and wrist joints of the upper arm, forearm, and hand, which are better at guiding the optimal ball release speed, angle, and backspin for different players with the fastest ball speed being about 4.6 m/s and the slowest being about 1.7 m/s.

    Abstract: Objectives . To assess the efficacy of acupuncture in treating opioid use disorder (OUD). Design . Systematic review and meta-analysis. Methods . PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), Embase, PsycINFO, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Web of Science, ProQuest Dissertation and Theses, Allied and Complementary Medicine Database (AMED), Clinicaltrials.gov , and who.int/trialsearch were searched from inception to 23 December 2017. The methodological quality of selected studies and the quality of evidence for outcomes were assessed, respectively, by the Cochrane risk of bias assessment tool and the GRADE approach. Statistical analyses were conducted by RevMan 5.3. Results . A total of nine studies involving 1063 participants fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The results showed that acupuncture could be more beneficial than no treatment/sham acupuncture in terms of changes in craving for opioid (MD -2.18, 95% CI -3.10 to -1.26), insomnia (MD 2.31, 95% CI 1.97 to 2.65), and depression (SMD -1.50, 95% CI -1.85 to -1.15). In addition, these findings showed that, compared to sham electroacupuncture (EA), EA had differences in alleviating symptoms of craving (SMD -0.50, 95% CI -0.94 to -0.05) and depression (SMD -1.07, 95% CI -1.88 to -0.25) and compared to sham transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation (TEAS), TEAS had differences in alleviating symptoms of insomnia (MD 2.31, 95% CI 1.97 to 2.65) and anxiety (MD -1.26, 95% CI -1.60 to -0.92) compared to no treatment/sham TEAS. Conclusions . Acupuncture could be effective in treating OUD. Moreover, EA could effectively alleviate symptoms of craving for opioid and depression, and TEAS could be beneficial in improving symptoms of insomnia and anxiety. Nevertheless, the conclusions were limited due to the low-quality and small number of included studies. PROSPERO registration number is CRD42018085063 .

    Abstract: Objective. DNA damage response (DDR) is a complex system that maintains genetic integrity and the stable replication and transmission of genetic material. m6A modifies DDR-related gene expression and affects the balance of DNA damage response in tumor cells. In this study, a risk model based on m6A-modified DDR-related gene was established to evaluate its role in patients with gastric cancer. Methods. We downloaded 639 DNA damage response genes from the Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) database and constructed risk score models using typed differential genes. We used Kaplan-Meier curves and risk curves to verify the clinical relevance of the model, which was then validated with the univariate and multifactorial Cox analysis, ROC, C -index, and nomogram, and finally this model was used to evaluate the correlation of the risk score model with immune microenvironment, microsatellite instability (MSI), tumor mutational burden (TMB), and immune checkpoints. Results. In this study, 337 samples in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database were used as training set to construct a DDR-related gene model, and GSE84437 was used as external data set for verification. We found that the prognosis and immunotherapy effect of gastric cancer patients in the low-risk group were significantly better than those in the high-risk group. Conclusion. We screened eight DDR-related genes (ZBTB7A, POLQ, CHEK1, NPDC1, RAMP1, AXIN2, SFRP2, and APOD) to establish a risk model, which can predict the prognosis of gastric cancer patients and guide the clinical implementation of immunotherapy.

    Abstract: A novel solid-state method has been developed for synthesizing nickel oxide (NiO)/carbon nanotubes (CNTs) composite using an ionic liquid (IL, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride) as the reaction medium. Ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) absorbance spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy (IR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were employed to investigate the structure, morphology, and formation mechanism of the synthesized sample. The results demonstrated that the IL is effective for dispersing CNTs, which allows the tethering of nickel (II) ions onto the surfaces of the CNTs and facilitates the subsequent chemical deposition of NiO to obtain the NiO/CNTs composite. The electrochemical properties of the composite were determined using cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge measurements in 6 M KOH. Because of its unique structure, the prepared NiO/CNTs electrode exhibited good capacitive behavior and cyclability. The high specific capacitance (521 F g −1 ) and good rate capability (91% capacity retention at 0.5 A g −1 ) of the NiO/CNTs composite enable its use as a practical supercapacitor electrode material.

    Abstract: During the construction of the underpass of a new tunnel, the excavation unloading effect disturbs surrounding rock masses and promotes surrounding rock deformation, inevitably changing stress and displacement in the existing tunnel. Taking Yangtaishan tunnel excavation of Shenzhen Metro Line 6 as an engineering example, effects of excavation programs of left and right lines on the deformation characteristics of newly excavated and existing tunnels were evaluated based on Midas numerical model and priority excavation advantages of the left line were determined. The settlement and horizontal deformation characteristics of the existing tunnel were analyzed using the construction monitoring method. Results showed that maximum settlement and horizontal deformation of the existing tunnel were 1.35 and 0.23 mm, respectively. Settlement of invert and inverted top along axis direction was from growth to decline, and then a V-shaped settlement trough was formed with maximum settlement values of 1.36 and 0.97 mm, respectively. Maximum settlement and uplift of the newly built tunnel appeared on the upper and bottom parts of invert, respectively. In the newly built tunnel segments, the top settlement was dominated and deformation was mainly distributed in both side areas. At the top of the existing tunnel segment, convergence settlement was 3.09 mm and settlement rate was slow first which was accelerated, then stabilized, and finally slowed down again which was opposite to the uplift development trend of the bottom of tunnel segment. The top of the existing tunnel segment showed four settlement stages, slow, rapid, stable, and slow settlement stages. Compared with the right line, preferential excavation of the left line had obvious advantages in terms of tunnel stability. The unloading effect of TBM excavation created vault settlement in the existing tunnels where actual settlement values were 1.12 and 1.13 times, which theoretically calculated settlement. The horizontal deformation of the existing tunnel was varied first linearly and then nonlinearly with maximum deformation in the convergence stage of 1.47 mm.

    Abstract: The adipogenic differentiation of adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ADSCs) plays an important role in the process of obesity and host metabolism. D-Mannose shows a potential regulating function for fat tissue expansion and glucose metabolism. To explore the mechanisms through which D-mannose affects the adipogenic differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells in vitro, we cultured the ADSCs with adipogenic medium inducement containing D-mannose or glucose as the control. The adipogenic differentiation specific markers Pparg and Fabp4 were determined by real-time PCR. The Oil Red O staining was applied to measure the lipid accumulation. To further explore the mechanisms, microarray analysis was performed to detect the differences between glucose-treated ADSCs (G-ADSCs) and D-mannose-treated ADSCs (M-ADSCs) in the gene expression level. The microarray data were further analyzed by a Venn diagram and Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA). MicroRNA inhibitor transfection was used to confirm the role of key microRNA. Results. D-Mannose intervention significantly inhibited the adipogenic differentiation of ADSCs, compared with the glucose intervention. Microarray showed that D-mannose increased the expression of miR669b, which was an inhibitor of adipogenesis. In addition, GSEA and western blot suggested that D-mannose suppressed the adipogenic differentiation via inhibiting the MAPK pathway and further inhibited the expression of proteins related to glucose metabolism and tumorigenesis. Conclusion. D-Mannose inhibits adipogenic differentiation of ADSCs via the miR669b/MAPK signaling pathway and may be further involved in the regulation of glucose metabolism and the inhibition of tumorigenesis.

    Abstract: The genesis of dolostone has long been puzzling for more than two centuries. Although much work has been done on investigating the process of dolomitization, little emphasis has been put on examining the diagenetic water redox condition with the wealthy geochemical information preserved in primary dolomite, which is believed to archive the aqueous environment as well as biotic and/or abiotic effects during formation. In situ interpretation with high resolution is a prerequisite in refined research of dolomite. Here, we reported the multielement imaging results of a lacustrine dolomite nodule with the host black shale from the Songliao Basin, northeast of China. Micro X-ray fluorescence (μ-XRF) with a spatial resolution down to 10 μm was used for in situ scanning. Two key parameter settings of the μ-XRF, including single-point exposure time and spatial resolution, were optimized to achieve a better result in a reasonable scanning time scale. The final imaging data graphically revealed dynamic variation of elemental distributions, including elements enriched in dolomite (e.g., Ca, Mg, Fe, and Mn), clastic quartz (Si), and clay minerals (e.g., Al and K) and redox-sensitive trace elements (e.g., Cr, Mo, V, and U). The well-preserved laminated structures inside the nodule and the features with a magnesium-rich core wrapped with an iron-concentric outer layer and a manganese-concentric shell together indicated its primary form as dolomite and a gradual transformation into ankerite as well as manganese-ankerite. The elemental variation indicates a varied bottom water redox condition, which involved from sulfidic to ferruginous and manganous zones. Here, we propose that the intermittent supplies of sulfate and Fe-/Mn-oxidized minerals interrupting the black shale deposition while favoring dolomitization might be brought by the oxidized and salted seawater. And this lacustrine dolomite is expected to be a potential fingerprint mineral in tracking the seawater intrusions to the Songliao Basin which happened 91 million years ago.
