Abstract: Various studies have shown that soils surrounding mining areas are seriously polluted by heavy metals. In this study, 58 topsoil samples were systematically collected throughout the coal mining city Wuhai, located within the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. The concentrations of As, Hg, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd, and Pb in these samples were measured and statistically analyzed. The mean concentrations of all heavy metals were lower than their Grade I values defined by the Chinese Soil Quality Standard. However, the mean concentrations of individual heavy metals in many samples exceeded their background values. The spatial distribution of heavy metals was analyzed by the ordinary kriging interpolation method. The positive matrix factorization model was used to ascertain contamination sources of the eight heavy metals and to apportion the contribution of each source. The most severely polluted area was the Wuhushan mine site in the Wuda district of Wuhai. Our results showed that coal mining strongly affected heavy metal contamination of the local soils. Results of source apportionment indicated that contributions from industrial activities, atmospheric deposition, agricultural activities, and natural sources were 31.3%, 26.3%, 21.9%, and 20.5%, respectively. This clearly demonstrates that anthropogenic activities have markedly higher contribution rates than natural sources to heavy metal pollution in soils in this area.

Abstract: In this study, concentrations, sources, and ecological risk of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in 41 surface water samples collected from Wuhai and Lingwu sections of the Yellow River were investigated. The results showed that total PAH concentrations varied from 27.5 ng/L to 234 ng/L and from 135 ng/L to 265 ng/L in surface water of Wuhai and Lingwu sections, respectively. Source identification was performed by using principal component and multiple linear regression analysis. PAHs in Wuhai section of the Yellow River were mainly from coal combustion (35%) and vehicle exhausts (34%). Ecological risk of PAHs to aquatic organisms was assessed by applying the probabilistic risk assessment method. The results showed that the probabilities of exceeding the chronic toxicity for 5% of the species were 28% and 32% for PAHs in surface water from Wuhai and Lingwu sections, respectively. It has been demonstrated that there is an urgent need for environmental managers to take measures to reduce the ecological risk of PAHs in the aquatic environment in both Wuhai and Lingwu sections of the Yellow River.

Abstract: With the immunoregulation potential, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been used for tissue regeneration by relieving inflammation in the injured tissues. When this repair process is interfered by immune disorders or pathological angiogenesis, the delays in corneal epithelial wound healing can lead to a persistent epithelial defect. Stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs), which carry abundant bioactive molecules from stem cells, have provided an alternative to regeneration therapy. In this study, we aimed to investigate if EVs from human placenta-derived MSCs (hP-MSCs) could ameliorate alkali injury of the cornea in the mouse model. 33.33  μ g/ μ L EVs in 10  μ L PBS were applied to the cornea. Repeat application three times, and 100  μ g EVs (in 30  μ L PBS) in total were administrated per day for two weeks. Our results revealed that EVs from hP-MSCs had preferable functions including enhancing proliferation and anti-inflammation and suppressing apoptosis of corneal epithelial cells. Furthermore, hP-MSC-derived EVs ameliorated mouse corneal wound healing by inhibiting angiogenesis and inflammation. Taken together, our current data suggested that hP-MSC-derived EVs have the beneficial effects of corneal wound healing, which provide alternative cell-free therapy with great practical value.

Abstract: Inflammation plays a crucial role in the formation of benign breast disease. Given the limited study to explore the association between leukocyte as an indicator of immune system and benign breast disease, we used data from a large cross-sectional study to investigate association between leukocyte and its subtypes and benign breast disease among women in the general population. The data were derived from baseline data of the Tianjin chronic low-grade systemic inflammation and health (TCLSIH) cohort study during 2014 and 2016. Breast thickness and nodules status were assessed by using ultrasonography. Leukocyte and its subtype counts were carried out using the automated hematology analyzer. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to examine the association between leukocyte and its subtypes and prevalence of benign breast disease. In the present study, the prevalence of benign breast disease was 20.9%. After adjustments for potentially confounding factors, the odds ratios (95% confidence interval) for benign breast disease across lymphocyte quintiles were as follows: 1.00 (reference), 0.99 (0.82, 1.2), 0.85 (0.69, 1.04), 0.84 (0.68, 1.02), and 0.75 (0.61, 0.92) ( P for trend = 0.002). An inverse association between lymphocyte counts and benign breast disease was found, but leukocyte and other subtypes have nothing to do with benign breast disease. Further prospective studies are needed to determine the findings.

Abstract: With the continuous breakthrough of science and technology, all aspects related to science and technology are constantly updated and changing. Photoelectric devices, also known as photosensitive devices, work on principles based on the photoelectric effect. The application of photoelectric devices in our lives is also diverse. This paper aims to study the flexibility of nanophotoelectric devices, which is a new generation of photoelectric device product technology, making photoelectric devices have more outstanding utility compared with the past. In the traditional sense, photoelectric devices will have their own hardware defects, and the update of nanoflexible photoelectric device technology will solve the above shortcomings. The above breakthroughs in key technologies have improved the hardware of welding tooling in the industrial field. The technique of welding tooling is widely used in the industrial field. The introduction of nanoflexible photoelectric devices into the welding tooling can overcome the defects of conventional processes. This paper proposes the application of nanotechnology in the industrial field. A parameter testing system and a model of dynamic matrix predictive control are established to predict and control the parameters of the experiment throughout the process. The experimental object of this paper is nanoflexible optoelectronic devices; meanwhile, the concentration of nanomaterials in the nanophotoelectric device plays a decisive role in the efficiency of the device, then the final experimental results show that when the concentration of nanomaterials is 8.5 ∗ 10, the efficiency of the optoelectric components is the best of the four groups of experiments.

Abstract: With the slow rise of the construction industry, cranes, as indispensable mechanical equipment in construction projects, are widely used in the lifting and handling of specific space ranges of construction projects. The quality of crane booms is particularly important for safety. This paper uses image measurement methods including filter processing, mean filtering, and Gaussian filtering to detect the quality of the crane boom material. The image is processed by the wavelet transform and Fourier transform. The grayscale transformation stretching method is applied to the surface image analysis of the boom material to obtain the final inspection. The research results show that the use of image measurement methods can effectively measure the thickness of the crane boom material, the geometric information of the boom material, and the surface roughness of the material and obtain effective image information. The detection accuracy reaches 98.1%. The error can be controlled better. The inspection and research on the quality of crane jib materials can ensure the quality and performance of crane jib materials, reduce the potential safety hazards of cranes during operation, and improve safety. This article organically combines workpiece surface roughness detection with digital image processing technology to preprocess the surface picture of the arm tube material. On this basis, the texture features in the image are extracted and programmed to calculate, and the final workpiece is obtained by the surface roughness value, which proves the feasibility of this method. The research results have very important practical significance for the detection of the quality of the arm tube material and the improvement of the quality level of the arm tube material.

Abstract: In order to study the F3 system, an accurate global adiabatic potential energy surface is reduced in the present work. The high-level ab initio (MCSCF/MRCI level) methods with big basis set aVQZ are used to calculate 27690 potential energy points in the MOLPRO quantum chemistry package using the Jacobi coordinate. Meanwhile, the B-spline fit method is used to reduce the global potential energy surface in this present work. The shallow well complexes are found in the present work when the angles θ = 30 ° , 60 ° , and   90 ° . Analysing the global potential energy surfaces can get the conclusion that reactants should overcome at least 0.894 eV energy to cross the transition state and reach products. This study will be helpful for the analysis in histopathology and for the study of biological and medical mechanisms.

Abstract: The number of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors is gradually increasing; this study aimed to comprehensively and systematically evaluate the impact of PD-1 inhibitors as second-line therapy for terminal or metastatic esophageal cancer (EC) on patient survival and the occurrence of adverse events. Suitable randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases. Moreover, we searched for conference abstracts from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) to compare the comprehensive curative effects of PD-1 inhibitors or single-agent therapy in terminal or metastatic EC. The primary outcome indicators were overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), objective response rate (ORR), and disease control rate (DCR). Treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs) were the secondary outcome indicators. We compared the previously mentioned indicators of the two treatment modalities using Stata software (version 12.0). We compared the long-term survival rates of both treatment groups and analyzed the possible factors affecting OS. We selected five RCTs with 2197 patients as study subjects. Compared with conventional single-agent chemotherapy, PD-1 inhibitors greatly improved the patients’ OS (HR = 0.77, 95% CI 0.70–0.85, P 〈 0.001 ), but PFS (HR = 0.93, 95% CI 0.77–1.12, P = 0.431 ) and DCR (RR = 0.93, 95% CI 0.71–1.22, P = 0.609 ) were not greatly improved. Moreover, PD-1 inhibitors improved ORR (RR = 1.83, 95% CI 1.16–2.89, P = 0.009 ) and decreased TRAEs (RR = 0.76, 95% CI 0.61–0.95, P 〈 0.001 ) and serious TRAEs (RR = 0.40, 95% CI 0.32–0.49, P 〈 0.001 ). Further analysis demonstrated that OS was affected by age, sex, region, smoking history, and the number of organ and lymph node metastases. Compared with the traditional single chemotherapy drugs, PD-1 inhibitors can achieve higher OS and ORR, fewer and more serious TRAEs, and better efficacy and safety for second-line therapy of terminal or metastatic EC.
