Kurzfassung: Background. Tuberculosis (TB), a multisystemic disease with protean presentation, remains a major global health problem. Although concurrent pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) and extrapulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) cases are commonly observed clinically, knowledge regarding concurrent PTB-EPTB is limited. Here, a large-scale multicenter observational study conducted in China aimed to study the epidemiology of concurrent PTB-EPTB cases by diagnostically defining TB types and then implementing association rules analysis. Methods. The retrospective study was conducted at 21 hospitals in 15 provinces in China and included all inpatients with confirmed TB diagnoses admitted from Jan 2011 to Dec 2017. Association rules analysis was conducted for cases with concurrent PTB and various types of EPTB using the Apriori algorithm. Results. Evaluation of 438,979TB inpatients indicated PTB was the most commonly diagnosed (82.05%) followed by tuberculous pleurisy (23.62%). Concurrent PTB-EPTB was found in 129,422 cases (29.48%) of which tuberculous pleurisy was the most common concurrent EPTB type observed. The multivariable logistic regression models demonstrated that odds ratios of concurrent PTB-EPTB cases varied by gender and age group. For PTB cases with concurrent EPTB, the strongest association was found between PTB and concurrent bronchial tuberculosis (lift = 1.09). For EPTB cases with concurrent PTB, the strongest association was found between pharyngeal/laryngeal tuberculosis and concurrent PTB (lift = 1.11). Confidence and lift values of concurrent PTB-EPTB cases varied with gender and age. Conclusions. Numerous concurrent PTB-EPTB case types were observed, with confidence and lift values varying with gender and age. Clinicians should screen for concurrent PTB-EPTB in order to improve treatment outcomes.

Kurzfassung: SiC/Ti6Al4V coatings were applied on carbon/carbon composites to improve the surface wettability of water. SiC interlayers were preprepared by pack cementation to bond both the carbon/carbon composites and the Ti6Al4V, and then the Ti6Al4V coatings were applied by magnetron sputtering technique. The morphology and crystalline of the SiC/Ti6Al4V coatings were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. The surface wettability of the coatings was tested by video-based contact angle measuring device. The results showed that SiC can serve as an interlayer between the carbon/carbon composites and Ti6Al4V. The SiC/Ti6Al4V coatings covered the carbon/carbon composites uniformly with spherical morphology. The coatings improved the surface wettability of carbon/carbon composites with the contact angle of water decreasing from 85.7 ± 4.1° to 26.5 ± 0.1°.

Kurzfassung: Background . Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) is referred as liver transaminase and predominantly expressed by hepatocytes. Previous evidences showed that high levels of ALT were reversely associated with short- and long-term outcomes in patients with myocardial infarction. Besides, low lymphocyte has been demonstrated to be significantly correlated with adverse clinical outcomes in coronary artery disease (CAD). However, evidences about the relationship between ALT-to-lymphocyte ratio (ALR) and outcomes in CAD patients with normal liver function are limited. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between ALR and clinical outcomes in patients with CAD. Methods . This is a retrospective cohort study, and a total of 3561 patients were enrolled in Clinical Outcomes and Risk Factors of Patients with CAD after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), from January 2013 to December 2017. After excluding patients with liver dysfunction, we finally enrolled 2714 patients. These patients were divided into two groups according to ALR value: the lower group (ALR  〈  14.06, n  = 1804) and the higher group (ALR ≥ 14.06, n  = 910). The average follow-up time was 37.59 ± 22.24 months. Results . We found that there were significant differences between the two groups in the incidence of all-cause mortality (ACM) ( P 〈 0.001 ) and cardiac mortality (CM) ( P = 0.010 ). Kaplan–Meier survival analysis suggested that CAD patients with higher ALR tended to have an increased accumulated risk of ACM and CM (log rank P 〈 0.001 and P = 0.006 , respectively). Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that ALR was an independent predictor of ACM (hazard ratio (HR) = 2.017 (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.289–3.158), P = 0.002 ) and CM (HR = 1.862 (95% CI: 1.047–3.313), P = 0.034 ). We did not find significant difference in the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) and major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs) between the two groups after adjustments of confounders. Conclusion . Our results indicate that ALR is an independent predictor of long-term adverse outcomes in CAD patients who underwent PCI.

Kurzfassung: Acute pancreatitis (AP), an inflammatory disorder of the pancreas, can cause systemic inflammatory responses. Escin Sodium (ES), a natural mixture of triterpene saponins extracted from the dry ripe fruit of Fructus Aesculi or horse chestnut crude, has been demonstrated to have antiedematous, anti-inflammatory, and antiexudative effects. We here aim to investigate the effects of ES pretreatment on AP in vivo and in vitro and explore its potential molecular mechanism. In the present study, we demonstrated that ES pretreatment could apparently decrease amylase and lipase, downregulate inflammatory cytokines, and attenuate pancreatic damage. Additionally, the increased expression of apoptotic-related proteins and the results of flow cytometry demonstrated the effects of ES on promoting apoptosis in acinar cells. Moreover, ES could enhance mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP, ΔΨm) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) level and reduce intracellular calcium concentration, which are closely related to mitochondrial-mediated death. The effect of ES pretreatment on acinar cell apoptosis was furtherly confirmed by the regulatory pathway of the ERK/STAT3 axis. These results suggest that ES attenuates the severity of AP by enhancing cell apoptosis via suppressing the ERK/STAT3 signaling pathway. These findings provide evidence for ES which is treated as a novel and potent therapeutic for the treatment of AP.

Kurzfassung: Although heart researches and acquirement of clinical and experimental data are progressively open to public use, cardiac biophysical functions are still not well understood. Due to the complex and fine structures of the heart, cardiac electrophysiological features of interest may be occluded when there is a necessity to demonstrate cardiac electrophysiological behaviors. To investigate cardiac abnormal electrophysiological features under the pathological condition, in this paper, we implement a human cardiac ischemic model and acquire the electrophysiological data of excitation propagation. A visualization framework is then proposed which integrates a novel depth weighted optic attenuation model into the pathological electrophysiological model. The hidden feature of interest in pathological tissue can be revealed from sophisticated overlapping biophysical information. Experiment results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method for intuitively exploring and inspecting cardiac electrophysiological activities, which is fundamental in analyzing and explaining biophysical mechanisms of cardiac functions for doctors and medical staff.

Kurzfassung: A series of catalysts of Ag 2 O-Co 3 O 4 / γ -Al 2 O 3 was prepared by equivalent volume impregnation method. The effects of the metal loading, calcination time, and calcination temperatures of Ag and Co, respectively, on the catalytic activity were investigated. The optimum preparing condition of Ag 2 O-Co 3 O 4 / γ -Al 2 O 3 was decided, and then the influence of different preparation conditions on catalytic activity of Ag 2 O-Co 3 O 4 / γ -Al 2 O 3 was analyzed. The results showed the following: (1) at the same preparation condition, when silver loading was 8%, the Ag 2 O-Co 3 O 4 / γ -Al 2 O 3 showed higher catalyst activity, (2) the catalyst activity had obviously improved when the cobalt loading was 8%, while it was weaker at loadings 5% and 10%, (3) the catalyst activity was influenced by different calcination temperatures of silver, but the influences were not marked, (4) the catalyst activity can be influenced by calcination time of silver, (5) different calcination times of cobalt can also influence the catalyst activity of Ag 2 O-Co 3 O 4 / γ -Al 2 O 3 , and (6) the best preparation conditions of the Ag 2 O-Co 3 O 4 / γ -Al 2 O 3 were silver loading of 8%, calcination temperature of silver of 450°C, and calcinations time of silver of 4 h, while at the same time the cobalt loading was 8%, the calcination temperature of cobalt was 450°C, and calcination time of cobalt was 4 h.

Kurzfassung: Breast cancer (BRCA) is one of the leading causes of death among women worldwide, and drug resistance often leads to a poor prognosis. Necroptosis is a type of programmed cell death (PCD) and exhibits regulatory effects on tumor progression, but few studies have focused on the relationships between necroptosis-associated lncRNAs and BRCA. In this study, we established a signature basis of 7 necroptosis-related lncRNAs associated with prognosis and divided BRCA patients into high- and low-risk groups. Kaplan-Meier curves all showed an adverse prognosis for patients in the high-risk group. Cox assays confirmed that risk score was an independent prognostic factor for BRCA patients. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve proved the predictive accuracy of the signature and the area under the curve (AUC) values of the risk score reached 0.722. The nomogram relatively accurately predicted the prognosis of the patients. GSEA analysis suggested that the related signaling pathways and biological processes enriched in the high- and low-risk groups may influence the tumor microenvironment (TME) of BRCA. ssGSEA showed the difference in immune cell infiltration, immune pathway activation, and immune checkpoint expression between the two risk groups, with the low-risk group more suitable for immunotherapy. According to the significant difference in IC50 between risk groups, patients can be guided for an individualized treatment plan. Overall, the authors established a prognostic signature consisting of 7 necroptosis-associated lncRNAs that can independently predict the clinical outcome of BRCA patients. The difference in the tumor immune microenvironment between the low- and high-risk populations may be the reason for the resistance to immunotherapy in some patients.

    Kurzfassung: Our study aimed at comparing the diagnostic value of 18 F-NaF positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) and 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT for detection of skull-base invasion and osseous metastases in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Our study retrospectively analyzed 45 patients with pathologically proven NPC. They all underwent both 18 F-NaF PET/CT and 18 F-FDG PET/CT within a 7-day interval. Bone metastases were confirmed by follow-up using PET/CT, enhance-contrast computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance image (MRI). These two examinations were compared using per-patient-based analysis and per-lesion-based analysis. 18 F-NaF PET/CT detected 27 patients with skull-base invasion, whereas 18 F-FDG PET/CT detected 17 patients. 18 F-NaF PET/CT and 18 F-FDG PET/CT differed significantly in diagnosing skull-base invasion ( p = 0.02 ) and sensitivity ( p = 0.008 ). The sensitivity, specificity, and agreement rate of 18 F-NaF PET/CT for detecting bone metastatic lesions were 98.3%, 65.7%, and 92.9%, respectively; these values were 42.9%, 97.1%, and 51.9%, respectively, for 18 F-FDG PET/CT. 18 F-NaF PET/CT and 18 F-FDG PET/CT differed significantly in the number of osseous metastases detected ( t = 2.45 , p = 0.18 ) sensitivity ( p 〈 0.0001 ) and specificity ( p = 0.003 ). In patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, 18 F-NaF PET/CT assessed invasion of the skull base better and detected more osseous metastases than 18 F-FDG PET/CT.

Kurzfassung: In order to improve the safety, operability, and cleanability of the dust suppressant, this paper uses the surfactant monomers selected in the previous experiment as the main material formula and adds the inorganic salt as the synergist to prepare the dust suppressant for the PMX. The wetting property of the solution was characterized by the surface tension and contact angle of the pressed coal pieces. The sedimentation experiment was used to screen the compounding system of the surfactant. Finally, the dust suppressant was used to reduce the dust of the PMX in the coal dust simulation system. The results show that (1) the surfactant compounding system can effectively improve the wetting property and the sedimentation time of coal dust. The fast penetration T (0.06%), SDBS (0.15%), and APG (0.20%) are the preferred main ingredients. (2) Adding inorganic salts on the basis of compounding, according to the effect of inorganic salts on the effect of dust suppressant, it is concluded that NaCl (1.00%) is the best synergist. (3) In order to save costs, reduce the amount of surfactant. According to the simulated dust reduction experiment, formula N: anionic surfactant SDBS (0.06%), anionic surfactant fast-permeability T (0.06%), and inorganic salt NaCl (1.00%) are the best for PMX dust fall.
