    Abstract: Introduction: Under the dual opportunities of low-carbon consumption preference and online consumption platforms, vendors’ low-carbon advertising incursions provide opportunities for decarbonization and market position enhancement, as well as further research on the value of low-carbon advertising. This study aims to explore the contractual choices of green vendors’ online channels participating in low-carbon advertising competition under the low-carbon goodwill effect, and to simulate and evaluate the contractual choices of supply chain members. Methods: Using differential games, through the innovative application of the traditional low-carbon goodwill model and the introduction of the low-carbon advertising competition intensity coefficient, we design one-way and two-way cost-sharing contracts under low-carbon competition, coordinate the vicious competition in the supply chain, and provide contractual choices for supply chain participants. Results and discussion: Under the low-carbon advertising competition decision, the manufacturer has an absolute low-carbon market advantage, but the interests of all supply chain members are weakened, and interestingly, the manufacturer, who dominates the market, is the facilitator of the contractual agreement. Second, well-designed pacts can provide manufacturers and traders with more options for low-carbon strategies. Although both one-way and two-way cost-sharing pacts can generate Pareto gains for the supply chain and its members in advertising competition, two-way cost-sharing pacts are superior to one-way pacts in terms of coordination advantages. In addition, an important finding is that greater profit growth can be achieved through contractual cooperation in low-intensity advertising competition. Thus, moderate competition is desirable, while excessive competition can harm the supply chain system. Manufacturers should actively urge retailers to cooperate in order to optimize profits and establish long-term stable partnerships between upstream and downstream firms in green supply chains.

    Abstract: SHR-1222, a novel humanized monoclonal antibody targeting sclerostin, has been shown to induce bone formation and decrease bone resorption at a single dose ranging 50–400 mg in our previous phase 1 trial. This study was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-escalation phase 1 trial, which further investigated the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), and immunogenicity of multiple ascending doses of SHR-1222 in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis (POP). A total of 105 women with POP were enrolled and randomly assigned. Twenty-one received placebo and eighty-four received SHR-1222 sequentially (100 mg QM, n=4; 200 or 300 mg QM, n=20; and 400 or 600 mg Q2M, n=20). The most common adverse events included increased blood parathyroid hormone, increased low-density lipoprotein, increased blood alkaline phosphatase, increased blood cholesterol, back pain, and arthralgia, the majority of which were mild in severity without noticeable safety concerns. Serum SHR-1222 exposure (C max,ss and AUC 0-tau,ss ) increased in a greater than dose-proportional manner. Following multiple doses of SHR-1222, the bone formation markers (terminal propeptide of type I procollagen, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase, and osteocalcin) increased in a dose-dependent manner, whereas the bone resorption marker (β-C-telopeptide) was downregulated. Accordingly, BMD gains in the lumbar spine, total hip, and femoral neck were observed. The maximum BMD increase from baseline at the lumbar spine was detected in the 300 mg QM cohort (14.6% vs. 0.6% in the placebo group on day 169). Six (6/83; 7.2%) subjects developed anti-SHR-1222 antibodies with no discernible effects on PKs, PDs, and safety. Thus, multiple doses of SHR-1222 showed an acceptable safety profile and dose-dependent plasma exposure in women with POP, and could improve their BMD rapidly and prominently by promoting bone formation and inhibiting bone resorption. These findings further support SHR-1222 as a potential alternative agent for the treatment of POP.

    Abstract: In this study, the dynamic characteristics of accelerator-driven subcritical reactor (ADSR) under beam transients with high heterogeneity of neutron flux in time-space are investigated. Multi-mode core few-group constants are generated by three kinds of neutron fluxes: steady state of ADSR, λ-eigenvalue fundamental wave, and α-eigenvalue fundamental wave. The proposed few-group constants overcome the limitation of single few-group constant generated by two-step method that cannot consider the variation in neutron flux density and neutron energy spectrum with time and space. Compared to the existing few-group constants generated by two-step method under different operating conditions, the self-adapting multi-mode core few-group constants exhibit higher accuracy in the case of following two modes: steady-state mode of ADSR in the starting process and λ-eigenvalue mode in the beam trip condition. Overall, this research provides useful insights on neutron kinetics and can boost the development of ADSRs.

    Abstract: The accumulation of myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) is one of the major obstacles to achieve an appropriate anti-tumor immune response and successful tumor immunotherapy. MDSCs in tumor-bearing hosts are primarily polymorphonuclear (PMN-MDSCs). However, the mechanisms regulating the development of MDSCs remain poorly understood. In this report, we showed that interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) plays a key role in the development of PMN-MDSCs, but not monocytic MDSCs. IRF4 deficiency caused a significant elevation of PMN-MDSCs and enhanced the suppressive activity of PMN-MDSCs, increasing tumor growth and metastasis in mice. Mechanistic studies showed that c-Myc was up-regulated by the IRF4 protein. Over-expression of c-Myc almost abrogated the effects of IRF4 deletion on PMN-MDSCs development. Importantly, the IRF4 expression level was negatively correlated with the PMN-MDSCs frequency and tumor development but positively correlated with c-Myc expression in clinical cancer patients. In summary, this study demonstrated that IRF4 represents a novel regulator of PMN-MDSCs development in cancer, which may have predictive value for tumor progression.

    Abstract: The diversity and transmission patterns of major HIV-1 subtypes among MSM population in Guangxi remains unknown. Understanding the characteristics is crucial for effective intervention strategies. Between 2016 and 2021, we recruited individuals newly diagnosed with HIV-1 from MSM population in Guangxi. HIV-1 pol region was amplified and sequenced, and constructed molecular network, assessed clustering rate, cluster growth rate, spatial clustering, and calculating the basic reproductive number (R0) based on sequences data. We identified 16 prevalent HIV-1 subtypes among Guangxi MSM, with CRF07_BC (53.1%), CRF01_AE (26.23%), and CRF55_01B (12.96%) predominating. In the network, 618 individuals (66.17%) formed 59 clusters. Factors contributing to clustering included age  & lt; 30 years (AOR = 1.35), unmarried status (AOR = 1.67), CRF07_BC subtype (AOR = 3.21), and high viral load (AOR = 1.43). CRF07_BC had a higher likelihood of forming larger clusters and having higher degree than CRF01_AE and CRF55_01B. Notably, CRF07_BC has higher cluster growth rate and higher basic reproductive number than CRF01_AE and CRF55_01B. Our findings underscore CRF07_BC as a prominent driver of HIV-1 spread among Guangxi’s MSM population, highlighting the viability of targeted interventions directed at specific subtypes and super clusters to control HIV-1 transmission within this population.

    Abstract: Avian reovirus (ARV) can induce many diseases as well as immunosuppression in chickens, severely endangering the poultry industry. Interferons (IFNs) play an antiviral role by inducing the expression of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs). The effect of ARV infection on the expression of host ISGs is unclear. Specific-pathogen-free (SPF) chickens were infected with ARV strain S1133 in this study, and real time quantitative PCR was used to detect changes in the dynamic expression of IFNs and common ISGs in joints of SPF chickens. The results showed that the transcription levels of IFN A, IFNB , and several ISGs, including myxovirus resistance ( MX ), interferon-induced transmembrane protein 3 ( IFITM3 ), protein kinase R ( PKR ), oligoadenylate synthase ( OAS ), interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 5 ( IFIT5 ), interferon-stimulated gene 12 ( ISG12 ), virus inhibitory protein ( VIPERIN ), interferon-alpha-inducible protein 6 ( IFI6 ), and integrin-associated protein ( CD47 ), were upregulated in joints on days 1–7 of infection (the levels of increase of MX, IFIT5, OAS, VIPERIN, ISG12 , and IFI6 were the most significant, at hundreds-fold). In addition, the expression levels of the ISGs encoding zinc finger protein 313 ( ZFP313 ), and DNA damage–inducible transcript 4 ( DDIT4 ) increased suddenly on the 1st or 2nd day, then decreased to control levels. The ARV viral load in chicken joints rapidly increased after 1 day of viral challenge, and the viral load remained high within 6 days of viral challenge. The ARV viral load sharply decreased starting on day 7. These results indicate that in SPF chicken joints, many ISGs have mRNA expression patterns that are basically consistent with the viral load in joints. IFNA, IFNB, and the ISGs MX, IFITM3, PKR, OAS, IFIT5, ISG12, VIPERIN, IFI6, and CD47 play important roles in defending against ARV invasion, inhibiting ARV replication and proliferation, and promoting virus clearance. These results enrich our understanding of the innate immune response mechanisms of hosts against ARV infection and provide a theoretical basis for prevention and control of ARV infection.

    Abstract: Infertility affects 8-12% of couples worldwide, with 15-30% classified as unexplained infertility (UI). Thyroid autoimmunity (TAI), the most common autoimmune disorder in women of reproductive age, may impact fertility and pregnancy outcomes. However, the underlying mechanism is unclear. This study focuses on intrauterine insemination (IUI) and its potential association with TAI in UI patients. It is the first meta-analysis following a comprehensive literature review to improve result accuracy and reliability. Methods Retrospective cohort study analyzing 225 women with unexplained infertility, encompassing 542 cycles of IUI treatment. Participants were categorized into TAI+ group (N=47, N= 120 cycles) and TAI- group (N=178, N= 422 cycles). Additionally, a systematic review and meta-analyses following PRISMA guidelines were conducted, incorporating this study and two others up to June 2023, totaling 3428 IUI cycles. Results Analysis revealed no significant difference in independent variables affecting reproductive outcomes. However, comparison based on TAI status showed significantly lower clinical pregnancy rates (OR: 0.43, P= 0.028, 95%CI: 0.20-0.93) and live birth rate (OR: 0.20, P= 0.014, 95%CI: 0.05 ~ 0.71) were significantly lower than TAI- group. There was no significant difference in pregnancy rate between the two groups (OR: 0.61, P= 0.135, 95%CI: 0.32-1.17). However, the meta-analysis combining these findings across studies did not show statistically significant differences in clinical pregnancy rates (OR:0.77, P=0.18, 95%CI: 0.53-1.13) or live birth rates (OR: 0.68, P=0.64, 95%CI: 0.13-3.47) between the TAI+ and TAI- groups. Discussion Our retrospective cohort study found an association between TAI and reduced reproductive outcomes in women undergoing IUI for unexplained infertility. However, the meta-analysis incorporating other studies did not yield statistically significant associations. Caution is required in interpreting the relationship between thyroid autoimmunity and reproductive outcomes. Future studies should consider a broader population and a more rigorous study design to validate these findings. Clinicians dealing with women with unexplained infertility and TAI should be aware of the complexity of this field and the limitations of available evidence.

    Abstract: This study addresses the poorly understood physical properties of the Shixi Oilfield reservoir, which consists of a weathered Carboniferous volcanic rocks with strong heterogeneity and in which logging identification and evaluation are difficult. Using the lithology, lithofacies, and reservoir space characteristics of volcanic materials, this comprehensive study uses core, well logging, mud logging, and production testing data to analyze the relationship among the lithology, physical properties, electrical properties, and oil-bearing properties (referred to as the “four properties”) of weathered Carboniferous volcanic crust in addition to fluid identification. 1) The lithology of Carboniferous volcanic crust is dominated by breccia lava, agglomerate, banded lava, and compact tuff, and the lithofacies are mainly effusive facies. Secondary pores and tectonic fissures are important reservoir spaces, and the corrosion-fracture pores are significant for reservoir properties. 2) The “four properties” of volcanic reservoirs in the study area have clear relationships. On this basis, data on the electrical properties of the material, such as interval transit time, density, and neutron, were used to establish a logging interpretation model of the properties and oil saturation of the volcanic rock. 3) Using the resistivity-porosity cross-plot method, normal probability distribution method, and Rt/Rxo-Rt cross-plot method, volcanic reservoir fluids were identified with coincidence rates of 80%, 63.63%, and 63.63%, respectively. The cross-plot method determines lower limits of the reservoir’s physical properties and oil saturation, yielding porosity & gt;9%, permeability & gt;0.2 mD, and oil saturation & gt;45%.

    Abstract: Cadmium could induce various degrees of harm to aquatic organisms. A 30-day feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of cadmium on growth, muscle composition, digestive enzyme activity, gene expression of antioxidants and lipid metabolism in juvenile genetic improvement of farmed tilapia (GIFT, Oreochromis niloticus , Initial weight: 21.36 ± 0.24 g). Four cadmium concentrations of aquaculture water were designed: 0, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.6 mg/L Cd 2+ . The main results are as follows: Compared with the control group (0 mg/L Cd 2+ ), the weight gain rate (WGR), specific growth rate (SGR), daily growth index (DGI), and spleen index (SI) of juvenile GIFT under cadmium stress were significantly decreased ( p & lt; 0.05). The contents of crude protein and crude lipid in muscle were significantly decreased ( p & lt; 0.05), and the ash was significantly increased ( p & lt; 0.05). The activities of trypsin, lipase, and α-amylase in the intestinal were significantly decreased ( p & lt; 0.05). The relative expression levels of carnitine palmityl transferase 1 ( cpt-1 ), peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α ( pparα ), pparγ , hormone-sensitive lipase ( hsl ), lipoprotein lipase ( lpl ), malate dehydrogenase ( mdh ), leptin ( lep ), fatty acid synthetase ( fas ), cholesterol response element binding protein 1 ( srebp1 ), squalene cyclooxygenase ( sqle ), and stearoyl-CoA desaturase ( scd ) genes in liver were significantly decreased ( p & lt; 0.05). The relative expression levels of catalase ( cat ), superoxide dismutase ( sod ), glutathione S-transferase ( gst ), and glutathione peroxidase ( gsh-px ) genes in the liver were significantly decreased ( p & lt; 0.05). In conclusion, exposure to cadmium stress could impact growth, muscle composition, digestive enzyme activity, gene expression of antioxidant and lipid metabolism in juvenile GIFT.
