    Abstract: Active abdominal arterial bleeding is an emergency medical condition. Herein, we present our use of this two-stage InterNet model for detection of active abdominal arterial bleeding using emergency DSA imaging. Methods Firstly, 450 patients who underwent abdominal DSA procedures were randomly selected for development of the region localization stage (RLS). Secondly, 160 consecutive patients with active abdominal arterial bleeding were included for development of the bleeding site detection stage (BSDS) and InterNet (cascade network of RLS and BSDS). Another 50 patients that ruled out active abdominal arterial bleeding were used as negative samples to evaluate InterNet performance. We evaluated the mode's efficacy using the precision-recall (PR) curve. The classification performance of a doctor with and without InterNet was evaluated using a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results The AP, precision, and recall of the RLS were 0.99, 0.95, and 0.99 in the validation dataset, respectively. Our InterNet reached a recall of 0.7, the precision for detection of bleeding sites was 53% in the evaluation set. The AUCs of doctors with and without InterNet were 0.803 and 0.759, respectively. In addition, the doctor with InterNet assistant could significantly reduce the elapsed time for the interpretation of each DSA sequence from 84.88 to 43.78 s. Conclusion Our InterNet system could assist interventional radiologists in identifying bleeding foci quickly and may improve the workflow of the DSA operation to a more real-time procedure.

    Abstract: Studying the internal relationship between the innovation environment and the transformation development of resource-based cities from the perspective of coupling and coordination helps reveal the mechanism between them, which is of great significance to sustainable development of resource-based cities. This study reconstructs the index system for innovative environment and transformation development. We used the coupling coordination degree model, Epanechnikov function, and panel quantile regression model to analyze the coupling coordination level, dynamic evolution characteristics, and influencing factors of innovative environment and transformation development of resource-based cities in Gansu Province from 2009 to 2019. The study shows that the innovation environment index and the transformation development index of resource-based cities increased significantly during the study period. The innovation environment index of resource-based cities has been greatly improved, showing a dynamic evolution trend of rapid growth and development characteristics of “low-level, fast growth”. There are differences in the characteristics of transformation development in resource-based cities, but on the whole, it shows a trend of increasing fluctuation. The state of coupling coordination has changed from a severely unbalanced state to a moderately unbalanced state; some cities have turned to a low-level coordination state, and the overall trend is presented to optimize the process continuously. The quantile regression results show that the level of economic development and industrial structure has a significant positive effect on improving the coupling coordination degree of the two. The degree of government intervention has a negative impact. The level of capital investment has a negative effect at a high score but has no significant impact at a low score. This study tries to provide a scientific basis for formulating the policy of coordinated development between an innovation environment and transformation development of resource-based cities and also provides a reference for high-quality development of other resource-based cities.

    Abstract: In order to deal with the fluctuation and intermittency of photovoltaic (PV) cells, the battery energy storage system (BESS) as a supplementary power source has been widely concerned. In BESS, the unknown parameters of the battery can affect its output, and its structure determines these parameters. Therefore, it is essential to establish the battery model and extract the parameters accurately, and the existing methods cannot effectively solve this problem. This study proposes an adaptive differential evolution algorithm with the dynamic opposite learning strategy (DOLADE) to deal with the issue. In DOLADE, the number of elite particles and particles with poor performance is expanded, the population’s search area is increased, and the population’s exploration capability is improved. The particles’ search area is dynamically changed to ensure the population has a good exploitation capability. The dynamic opposite learning (DOL) strategy increases the population’s diversity and improves the probability of obtaining the global optimum with a considerable convergence rate. The various discharging experiments are performed, the battery model parameters are identified, and the results are compared with the existing well-established algorithms. The comprehensive results indicate that DOLADE has excellent performance and could deal with similar problems.

    Abstract: Game-based learning (GBL) can allow learners to acquire and construct knowledge in a fun and focused learning atmosphere. A systematic literature review of 42 papers from 2010 to 2020 in this study showed that the current difficulties in implementing GBL in classrooms could be classified into the following categories: infrastructure, resources, theoretical guidance, teacher’s capabilities and acceptance of GBL. In order to solve the above problems, the study constructs a technology enhanced GBL model, from the four parts of learning objective, learning process, learning evaluation, and smart classroom. In addition, this study adopted the Delphi method, inviting a total of 29 scholars, experts, teachers and school managers to explore how to implement GBL in smart classrooms. Finally, the technology enhanced GBL model was validated and the utilization approaches were provided at the conclusion part.

    Abstract: Doxorubicin (DOX) is a potent chemotherapeutic agent that is used against various types of human malignancies. However, the associated risk of cardiotoxicity has limited its clinical application. Danhong injection (DHI) is a Chinese medicine with multiple pharmacological activities and is widely used for treating cardiovascular diseases. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the potential protective effect of DHI on DOX-induced cardiotoxicity in vivo and to investigate the possible underlying mechanisms. First, a sensitive and reliable HPLC−ESI-Q-TOF-MS/MS method was developed to comprehensively analyze the chemical compositions of DHI. A total of 56 compounds were identified, including phenolic acids, tanshinones, and flavonoids. Then, a DOX-induced chronic cardiotoxicity rat model was established to assess the therapeutic effect of DHI. As a result, DHI administration prevented the reduction in body weight and heart weight, and improved electrocardiogram performance. Additionally, the elevated levels of serum biochemical indicators were reduced, and the activities of oxidative enzymes were restored in the DOX-DHI group. Network pharmacology analysis further revealed that these effects might be attributed to 14 active compounds ( e.g. , danshensu, salvianolic acid A, salvianolic acid B, rosmarinic acid, and tanshinone IIA) and 15 potential targets ( e.g. , CASP3, SOD1, NOS3, TNF, and TOP2A). The apoptosis pathway was highly enriched according to the KEGG analysis. Molecular docking verified the good binding affinities between the active compounds and the corresponding apoptosis targets. Finally, experimental validation demonstrated that DHI treatment significantly increased the Bcl-2 level and suppressed DOX-induced Bax and caspase-3 expression in rat heart tissue. Furthermore, DHI treatment obviously decreased the apoptosis rate of DOX-treated H9c2 cells. These results indicate that DHI attenuated DOX-induced cardiotoxicity via regulating the apoptosis pathway. The present study suggested that DHI is a promising agent for the prevention of DOX-induced cardiotoxicity.

    Abstract: Background: The present study aimed to prove the progression of immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) patients with isolated hematuria based on repeat renal biopsy data for the first time. Methods: 29 IgAN patients with isolated hematuria who received repeat renal biopsies were analyzed retrospectively, while 29 non-isolated hematuria IgAN patients with similar age and background were randomly selected as the control group. Clinical parameters were collected at the time of biopsy. The treatment strategies (conservative treatment with RASS blocker or immunosuppressive treatment) were choosen according to the pathological results at the first renal biopsy. The activity and chronicity indexes of renal lesions were evaluated. Markers of cell inflammation and proliferation were tseted by immunochemistry. The ultrastructure of podocytes was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Podocyte and oxidative stress marker (NPHS2 and 4-HNE) were detected by immunofluorescence. Results: The IgAN patients with isolated hematuria had better clinical indicators than those with no-isolated hematuria, such as better renal function, higher albumin and lower uric acid. The interval between two biopsies in IgAN patients with isolated hematuria was 630 (interquartile range, 409.5–1,171) days. The hematuria of the patients decreased significantly from 30 (IQR, 4.00–35.00) RBC/ul in the first biopsy to 11 (IQR, 2.50–30.00) RBC/ul in the repeated biopsy ( p & lt; 0.05). The level of triglyceride decreased significantly ( p & lt; 0.05). The other clinical indicators were not statistically significant ( p & gt; 0.05). Deposits of IgA and C3 in the glomerulus were persistent. The activity index decreased, especially cellular crescent formation, while the chronicity index increased. The ultrastructure of podocytes was improved after treatment. The oxidative stress products of podocytes reduced after treatment. Conclusion: Although the clinical indicators of the IgAN patients with isolated hematuria were in the normal range, various acute and chronic pathological changes have occurred, and irreversible chronic changes have been progressing. Cell inflammation and proliferation persisted. Oxidative stress of podocytes was likely to be the therapeutic target. This study provided a strong basis for the progress of IgAN with isolated hematuria through pathological changes before and after treatment. This study will help clinicians recognize the harm of hematuria, change the traditional treatment concept, and help such patients get early treatment.

    Abstract: Purpose: Tirofiban administration to acute ischemic stroke patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy with preceding intravenous thrombolysis remains controversial. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of low-dose tirofiban during mechanical thrombectomy in patients with preceding intravenous thrombolysis. Methods: Patients with acute ischemic stroke undergoing mechanical thrombectomy and preceding intravenous thrombolysis were derived from “ANGEL-ACT,” a multicenter, prospective registry study. The patients were dichotomized into tirofiban and non-tirofiban groups based on whether tirofiban was administered. Propensity score matching was used to minimize case bias. The primary safety endpoint was symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH), defined as an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) associated with clinical deterioration as determined by the Heidelberg Bleeding Classification. All ICHs and hemorrhage types were recorded. Clinical outcomes included successful recanalization, dramatic clinical improvement, functional independence, and mortality at the 3-month follow-up timepoint. Successful recanalization was defined as a modified Thrombolysis in Cerebral Ischemia score of 2b or 3. Dramatic clinical improvement at 24 h was defined as a reduction in NIH stroke score of ≥10 points compared with admission, or a score ≤1. Functional independence was defined as a Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score of 0–2 at 3-months. Results: The study included 201 patients, 81 in the tirofiban group and 120 in the non-tirofiban group, and each group included 68 patients after propensity score matching. Of the 201 patients, 52 (25.9%) suffered ICH, 15 (7.5%) suffered sICH, and 18 (9.0%) died within 3-months. The median mRS was 3 (0–4), 99 (49.3%) achieved functional independence. There were no statistically significant differences in safety outcomes, efficacy outcomes on successful recanalization, dramatic clinical improvement, or 3-month mRS between the tirofiban and non-tirofiban groups (all p & gt; 0.05). Similar results were obtained after propensity score matching. Conclusion: In acute ischemic stroke patients who underwent mechanical thrombectomy and preceding intravenous thrombolysis, low-dose tirofiban was not associated with increased risk of sICH or ICH. Further randomized clinical trials are needed to confirm the effects of tirofiban in patients undergoing bridging therapy.

    Abstract: Superficial scald is a serious physiological disorder in “Yali” pear ( Pyrus bretschneideri Rehd. cv. Yali) after long-term cold storage. Changes in superficial scald, ethylene production, α-farnesene and phenylpropane metabolism with associated gene expression in “Yali” pear treated with and without (control) 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) were investigated. Compared with the control group (without 1-MCP), 1-MCP (1.0 μl L –1 ) significantly lowered the superficial scald index after 180 days of cold storage. During cold storage and shelf life, the contents of α-farnesene, conjugated trienols, chlorogenic acid, and epicatechin in the peel were reduced, while quercetin was enhanced in 1-MCP-treated fruit, and the expression of genes associated with ethylene synthesis ( ACS1 , ACO1 ), receptors ( ETR2 , ERS1 ) and signal transduction ( ERF1 ), α-farnesene metabolism ( AFS1 , HMGR2 , GST7 ), phenolic biosynthesis ( PAL1 , C4H1 , C4H2 , HCT3 , 4CL2 , C3H ), and oxidases ( PPO1 , PPO5 , and LAC7 ) were significantly downregulated by 1-MCP. These results suggested that the onset and development of superficial scald was closely related to the ethylene receptor, conjugated trienols, chlorogenic acid and epicatechin and related genes expression in “Yali” pear.

    Abstract: Harmful algal blooms caused by Karenia mikimotoi frequently occur worldwide and severely threaten the marine environment. In this study, the biochemical and physiological responses of K. mikimotoi to the algicidal bacterium Paracoccus homiensis O-4 were investigated, and the effects on the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde content, multiple antioxidant systems and metabolites, photosynthetic pigments, and photosynthetic index were examined. The cell-free supernatant in strain O-4 significantly inhibited K. mikimotoi cell growth. The bacterium caused the K. mikimotoi cells to activate their antioxidant defenses to mitigate ROS, and this effect was accompanied by the upregulation of intracellular antioxidant enzymes and non-enzyme systems. However, the overproduction of ROS induced lipid peroxidation and oxidative damage within K. mikimotoi cells, ultimately leading to algal death. In addition, the photosynthetic efficiency of the algal cells was significantly inhibited by O-4 and was accompanied by a reduction in photosynthetic pigments. This study indicates that O-4 inhibits K. mikimotoi through excessive oxidative stress and impaired photosynthesis. This research into the biochemical and physiological responses of K. mikimotoi to algicidal bacteria provides insights into the prophylaxis and control of harmful algal blooms via interactions between harmful algae and algicidal bacteria.
