Because of the increasing need for achievement of good forest management techniques, it was conducted at field, an experiment to evaluate the possible interaction between weed management and covering fertilization in the development of eucalyptus plants. The treatments were arranged in a randomized block design in a 5x3 factorial design, consisting of five cases of weed control (weeded, weed free; isoxaflutole; glyphosate; glyphosate + isoxaflutole - pre and post emergence, respectively) and three doses of covering fertilization (0.5 x, x, 1.5 x, where x corresponds to the dose recommended for crop fertilization). At 300 days after planting, eucalyptus leaf dry mass and dry mass of stem were the most sensitive traits to weed interference. When the eucalyptus plants are grown with the weeds, the doses of covering fertilization did not promote significant changes in these traits, indicating the competition of the culture with weeds by the feature offered. Since the treatments that were free from growing with weeds throughout the study period ("clean" control and isoxaflutole + glyphosate), the highest dose of covering fertilization was responsible for the bests values of leaves and stem dry mass.
