    Abstract: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini mengambil lokasi di Perumahan Buana Impian 2 RW 028 Kelurahan Tembesi, Kecamatan Sagulung, Kota Batam. Di perumahan Buana Impian 2 ada 4 Rukun Tetangga (RT) dengan kepala rumah rangga sebanyak 827 KK. Pelatihan dengan tema mengelola keuangan keluarga pada masa pandemi covid-19 ditujukan kepada warga Perumahan Buana Impian 2. Tujuan utama dilakukan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman bagaimana mengelola keuangan keluarga agar mampu bertahan dan bisa berkembang dalam kondisi covid-19 sehingga tidak terjadi krisis keuangan dalam keluarga. Pelatihan yang diberikan kepada peserta dalam bentuk ceramah dan diskusi membahas permasalahan keuangan keluarga untuk menghadapi pandemi covid-19. Materi pelatihan kepada warga Perumahan Buana Impian 2 tentang mengelola keuangan keluarga meliputi; (1) evaluasi sumber penghasilan, (2) menghitung ulang kondisi anggaran keluarga, (3) gunakan sistem pos alokasi anggaran yang lebih sederhana, (4) utamakan menyisihkan penghasilan untuk dana darurat, (5) melakukan aktivitas-aktivitas produktif, (6) ikut asuransi. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan  diharapakan peserta mampu mengelola keuangan keluarga sehingga dapat terhindar dari krisis keuangan dalam keluarga.

    Abstract: Keluarga memegang peranan yang sangat penting dalam menentukan tumbuh kembang seoarang anak. Tidak hanya perkembangan secara fisik, tetapi juga secara mental dan spiritualnya. Demikian juga permasalahan pendidikan sangat ditentutukan oleh sistem pola asuh dalam keluarga. Sistem pola asuh tersebut tidak hanya dikendalikan oleh seorang ayah saja, tetapi peranan ibu juga sagat menentukan arah atau tujuan keluarga tersebut terutama apabila figur seorang ayah mempunyai kesibukan diluar lingkungan keluarga seperti mencari nafkah dan lain-lain. Pada saat seperti itulah peranan seorang  ibu akan menjadi pusat dari segala proses tumbuh kembang termasuk dari segi pendidikan. Contoh yang paling sederhana adalah ketika anak-anak tidak dapat mengerjakan PR yang diberikan oleh guru sekolah seperti PR Bahasa Inggris. Tentunya anak tersebut akan menanyakan kepada orang yang berada di rumah terutama ibunya. Karena menghadapi permasalahan yang demikian tetu seorang ibu harus setidaknya mempunyai pengetahuan bahasa Inggris walaupun tingkat dasar Berdasarkan dari kondisi seperti diatas itulah kami melakukan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa Pembinaan Peningkatan Ketrampilan berbahasa Inggris bagi ibu-ibu PKK di lingkungan Kelurahan Sungai Langkai Kecamatan Sagulung-Batam. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan dengan cara tutorial yang dilakukan selama 5 kali pertemuan selama bulan Juli sampai September 2019. Selama proses tutorial yang dilakukan pengabdi menunjukkan bahwa animo atau minat dari sasaran program pengabdian ini sugguh luar biasa. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh kedatangan mereka yang selalu antusias untuk menerima materi yang telah disikan sebelumnya.   (Kata kunci: Bahasa Inggris, Pengabdian, Ibu PKK)

    Abstract: This service activity is an activity in the form of training on English Conversation and Introduction to Information Technology for Youth in RT 02 RW 09, Bengkong Sadai Batam which is held at the Gedung Pertemuan RW09 Bengkong.The training held is a multi-disciplinary training or combines several study programs, especially English and Computer Study Programs. The training materials have been prepared in such a way that they are able to at least provide some solutions to the problems of the younger generation that are happening in the current millennial era. These problems include, among other things, teenagers in these neighborhoods do not master English and lack information technology. This training is carried out starting in November 2021 and ending in December 2021 with as many as 5 meetings held regularly. From this training, it is hoped that the training participants will get refreshed knowledge about the application of English and Introduction to Information Technology

    Abstract: Gurindam is an old type of poetry consisting of two lines of content which usually contains satire and advice. One of the famous Gurindam in Malay culture of Riau Kepulauan is Gurindam 12 by Raja Ali Haji. The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of affirmative figure of speech used in Gurindam 12. This study used qualitative methods in reviewing the available data and provides a description of the resulting study. The form of this research is a literature review in the form of local wisdom where the research team examines Gurindam 12. The data is then analyzed by looking at the types (its kind) of figure of speech and the meanings (its function) contained in the Gurindam (Kosasih, 2011). From the study it is found that there are 18 data analyzed as affirmative figure of speech where 3 data is included as pleonasm, 6 data of repetition and 9 data of parallelism. The use of affirmative figure of speech in Gurindam 12 is because the contents of this poem are doctrinal teachings related to religion. The reason is that when Gurindam 12 was created, the majority of the Malay population in the Riau Archipelago was Muslim.

    Abstract: Introduction in English is an important one to learn. By introduction we can adapt to everyone. This dedication aims to guide children in communicating with the interlocutor. In this service, the devotees find weaknesses in pronunciation and the use of grammar. So it needs to be developed for further. The ability to communicate using English is very important, so from now, we prepare the younger generation to face the future times. If children can communicate in English well then we feel happy and their parents also feel proud. In this occasion, the usage of the English in the students’ school is very seldom, so the devotees try to practice to use English in the every training. Beside that it gives motivation for the students and also to the parents of the students. Using English is not only for the introduction the students but also used in the presentation of the material.

    Abstract: Translation does not only translate from the source language (ST) to the target language (TT) because if it is done, the translation results or (TT) will not be accepted by the target language user and will not have the same effect as the source language. This is called the concept of equivalence. Equivalence is a problem that can not only be accepted by users of the target language which is also in accordance with the context of the culture, customs and habits of the local community, but this concept is essentially the result of the translated text having the same impact between the source language and the target language. This article analyzed the concept of theoretical and practical equivalence of translation from English to Indonesian or vice versa. The purpose of writing this article is to reveal the equivalence of translation and at the same time reveal translation errors that often occur in society. The data collection method used in this article is SBLC or free-to-talk (Sudaryanto, 1993). While the data analysis method is equivalent which was also written by the same expert.

    Abstract: The purpose of this service is to see and follow up on the abilities of the kohais of the Raudhatul Jannah dojo in order to achieve better achievements. Speech act is something that is needed in karate practice, in this case it is not speech to convey messages that need to be carried out by kohai-kohai in practice. If the kohais don't understand the speech conveyed by the trainer, the communication between the trainer and the kohai cannot work. Karate is a martial art where a trainer has a target in the training. The failure or success of the coach can be seen from the success of his students. Kohai-kohai dojo Raudhatul Jannah still cannot compete with athletes from around  Batam because their training schedule is very minimal. The method used in this service is for the servant to directly train and improve the kohai-kohai technique and get results that still need to be repaired and trained.

    Abstract: Kata is a significant thing in karate, the aim of this service is to form the young generation of karate and become athletes who excel, especially KATA or karate moves and to form kohai-kohai performances in playing kata, especially kata hean sandan. Kata hean sandan is the third basic kata in karate and is usually played by karateka who hold a yellow to green belt. This kata is also competed in festival and open classes. Apart from that, practicing kata to form the kihon or basic movements of an athlete, when playing this kata you will see the perfect kihon form. Besides that, kata can train and improve a karateka's concentration. The theory used in this analysis is Nakayama's theory, (1979). The method used in this analysis is the direct field survey method. This method will observe the forms of movement carried out by kohai-kohai karate. This method will also act directly and revise movements that are deemed inappropriate. The result of this method is that the kohai's movements immediately change to a better shape.

    Abstract: Kihon or basic movements are what every karate-ka must learn in practice. This basic movement is a movement where a karateka can start other movements. The purpose of this research is to improve the performance of junior athletes. If the basic movements cannot be carried out properly and correctly, it will have an impact on other movements. If the message to be conveyed is not clear, the students cannot carry out the movement properly. Therefore, a coach must have knowledge in conveying language to his students. The method used in this exercise is the trainer demonstrating basic movements in accordance with basic of the karate standards. Therefore, the coach must be able to communicate with kohai properly and correctly. In addition to linguistics, the trainer must also provide examples of good movement as well. In this exercise the trainer still finds movements that are not adequate in practice, so they need to be corrected and practiced regularly.

    Abstract: English is one of the world's official languages. All information is published in English and all progress and events can be known through English. Therefore, it is only natural that the sports world is also obliged to know English. Athletes will find it difficult to adapt if they don't master English. An athlete who is able to speak English so the development of his knowledge will progress more quickly. In Batam, there are a lot of kohai-kohai who don't speak English, so we tried to share a little of our knowledges to invite them how they can master English better and easily. To master English, an athlete needs language proficiency. Therefore we emphasized on our kohai-kohai so that they get used to using English in their daily life. Here we also emphasized on my kohai-kohai that they must be able to distinguish words, because in English words can affect meaning. Besides that, we also emphasized on the kohai-kohai how to pronounce the words, this is very important in mastering English. After that, how to apply those words in a sentence. The procedure for making sentences is no less important than the above. Sentences can also determine the meaning or topic to be conveyed to the interlocutors.
