Notes:
We describe an experimental device, which enables the investigation of mechanical point contacts with variable contact size. Electrical resistance, thermal resistance, and thermoelectric power can be measured simultaneously at temperatures between 1.5 and 300 K. By investigation of the phononic part of the thermal resistance we introduce a new, reliable method for determination of the contact size.
