Note: Diese Schrift ist eine leicht veränderte und korrigierte Fassung meiner Habilitationsschrift desselben Titels, die im Dezember 1984 bei der Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Fakultät eingereicht wurde und am 22.Mai 1985 vom Fakultätskonvent angenommen wurde. Die Veränderungen betreffen insbesondere zwei Anhänge der Originalfassung. Der erste von ihnen ("Veröffentlichungsliste und Zitatenanalyse des Verfassers") wurde zum Teil in die Referenzliste eingearbeitet, zum Teil weggelassen. Der zweite Anhang ("Lebenslauf und wissenschaftlicher Werdegang des Verfassers") wurde ganz weggelassen. Die anderen Veränderungen konzentrieren sich auf Kapitel 3, in dem mehrere Gleichungen korrigiert wurden und die Werte von Q/B für E. guttatus und hL bermudensis neu berechnet wurden , Zusammenfassung in deutscher und englischer Sprache
