    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The thermal decomposition of alkyl iodide (methyl and ethyl iodide) was found to be an additional significant source of error in the determination of alkyl imide in model and material studies. When temperatures of more than 300° are avoided, quantitative results are obtained. On the other hand, temperatures below 300° may lead to non-quantitative results because of incomplete splitting of quaternary ammonium compounds. Special attention should be directed to agreement in the temperature of the interior of the flask and that of the heating bath.
    Abstract: Résumé Comme autre source d'erreur essentielle du dosage des alcoylimides, on a étudié sur modèles et sur substance, la décomposition thermique des iodures d'alcoyles (iodure de méthyle et iodure d'éthyle); en évitant des températures plus hautes que 300°, on obtient des résultats quantitatifs. D'un autre côté, des résultats pas quantitatifs, par suite de températures plus basses que 300°, sont la conséquence d'une décomposition incomplète du sel d'ammonium quaternaire. Il faut particulièrement veiller à la concordance de température entre le bain chauffant et les petits ballons.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Als weitere wesentliche Fehlerquelle der Alkylimidbestimmung wurde in Modell- und Substanzversuchen die thermische Zersetzung von Alkyljodid (Methyl- und Äthyljodid) nachgewiesen; unter Vermeidung von höheren Temperaturen als 300° erhält man quantitative Resultate. Anderseits können niedrigere Temperaturen als 300° infolge unvollständiger Spaltung der quaternären Ammoniumverbindung ein nicht quantitatives Analysenergebnis bedingen. Auf die Übereinstimmung von Kölbcheninnen- und Heizbadtemperatur ist besonders zu achten.
