Abstract:
This 36 years old officer, captain, was admitted to our hospital, because of epigastric distress, anorexia and indigestion at first, but, recently for shortness of breath and edema of lower extremities, under physical examination. there was decreased breathing sound on the left lower lung field, and dullness on percussion. By X-ray, there was homogenous density on the left lower 2/3 lung field. Pericardiocentesis was performed and aspirated serosa- nguinous field about 300 cc.Three days later, thoracotomy was performed. Finally angioendothelioma of pericardium was diagnosed. by microscopically examination, with specimen removed. by pericardiectomy. After various conservative and symptomatic treatment for I week, he was expired. Also the literature was reviewed and discussed briefly.
