Pyridine Complexes of Cobalt(III): The Crystal Structure of trans-Tetraammine-nitropyridine-cobalt(III) Dibromide Monohydrate. Synthesis and Characterization of Ammine-chloro-ethylenediamine-dipyridine-cobalt(III) ComplexesThe structure of trans-Tetraammine-nitro-pyridine-cobalt(III) dibromide monohydrate, [Co(NH3)4(py)(NO2)]Br2 · H2O, was determined by X-ray methods. The complex crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbnm with lattice constants a = 9.894(5), b = 20.971(11), c = 7.315(3) Å. The unit cell contains four cations, eight anions and four water molecules. The final R index for 1482 observed reflections of non-zero weight (F 〉 3σ) is 0.059.Moreover the preparation and properties of the new Ammine-chloro-ethylenediamine-dipyridine-cobalt(III) complexes are described. The chloride, bromide, iodide, perchlorate, and tetrachloromercurate have been isolated.

Die Struktur von trans-Tetraammin-nitro-pyridin-kobalt(III)-dibromidmonohydrat, [[Co(NH3)4(py)](NO2)]Br2 · H2O, wurde röntgenographisch bestimmt. Der Komplex kristallisiert in der rhombischen Raumgruppe Pbnm mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 9,894(5), b = 20,971(11), c = 7,315(3) Å. Die Elementarzelle enthält vier Kationen, acht Anionen und vier Wassermoleküle. Der abschließende R-Wert beträgt 0,059 für 1 482 beobachtete Reflexe (F 〉 3σ).Außerdem werden Darstellung und Eigenschaften der neuen Ammin-chloro-ethylendiamin-dipyridin-kobalt(III)-Komplexe beschrieben. Isoliert wurden das Chlorid, Bromid, Jodid, Perchlorat und Tetrachloromercurat.
