Abstract:
The electrical properties of pristine high-molecular-weight poly-p-phenylene sulfide (PPS) films were investigated. The dark current and photocurrent showed a quadratic dependence on the applied field and were inversely proportional to the film thickness at constant field. The photocurrent increased linearly with the light intensity and saturated at higher intensities. These characteristics are explained by the modified space-charge-limited-current model. Preliminary experiments were also carried out on the electrical breakdown of the films.
