    Notes: Comparisons were made between 92 male prisoners over the age of 50 and 539 younger male prisoners at Utah State Prison, and between groups of first and muhiply incarcerated ot Utah and younger inmates. The older prisoners committed more crimes against persons, fewer property crimes, were older at first arrest, and were less socially deviant, impulsive, and hostile. The first incarcerated older inmates were found to have more often engaged in crimes of violence. were less involved in a criminal way of life, and were the best adjusted of all the groups. The multiply incarcerated older inmates were found to resemble the younger inmates in terms of a criminal way of life and were not different from their younger counterparts in their adjustment.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Mit zwei Szintillationszählern und einem Koinzidenzkreis hohen Auflösungsvermögens wird an einem V48-Präparat die Anzahl derγ-γ-Koinzidenzen in Abhängigkeit vom Winkel, den die Emissionsrichtungen der koinzidierendenγ-Quanten miteinander bilden, gemessen. Durch Vergleich mit einer analogen Messung am Na22 gelingt es, den störenden Einfluß der Positronvernichtungsstrahlung zu beseitigen und die Winkelkorrelation derγ-γ-Kaskade des Ti48 zu erhalten. Diese Korrelation zeigt, daß der erste Anregungszustand des Ti48 den Spin 2, der zweite den Spin 4 besitzt und beide Übergänge durch Quadrupolstrahlung vor sich gehen.

Dans la contrée de Langenthal (Canton de Berne, Suisse) la forêt mélangée de sapin et d'épicéa à Asperula odorata (Piceeto-Abietetum praealpinum asperuletosum) prend une assez grande extension depuis les basses montagnes de l'Emmenthal jusqu'aux plissements de la molasse subalpine près de Thoune. 2. Ce groupement est très étroitement apparenté au Piceeto-Abietetum praealpinum de la Forêt Noire distante de 150 km. La sous-association asperuletosum se rattache par des stades intermédiaires à d'autres types de forêts, en particulier au Mastigobryeto-Piceetum décrit ailleurs. 3. Le profil du sol qui est edifié sur divers sous-sols géologiques, se trouve de préférence sur la moraine rissienne; il est caractérisé par de fortes marbrures. 4. Le Piceeto-Abietetum praealpinum asperuletosum est généralement traité en forêt jardinée et donne un très bon rendement. L'accroissement annuel peut atteindre 14 m3 à l'hectare.
