Notes: The authors study the acoustic radiation from cylindrical elastic shells immersed in water and containing an internal acoustic source. To this end, they use the method of isolation and identification of resonances (MIIR) perfected at Le Havre in the 1980's [G. Maze and J. Ripoche, Phys. Lett. 84A, 309 (1981); Rev. Phys. Appl. 18, 319 (1983)] to obtain the resonance spectra of targets and group the resonances in families by means of the experimental identification of the mode number. They analyze the results in light of experimental studies on the acoustic scattering from elastic targets insonified by an external transmitter and of theoretical studies (calculation of natural modes and resonance scattering theory). For the targets studied, two series are put forward in the normalized frequency range examined in this paper.
