    Notizen: Using the prodistribution theory proposed by DeWitt-Morette [C. DeWitt-Morette, Commun. Math. Phys. 28, 47 (1972); C. DeWitt-Morette, A. Maheshwari, and B. Nelson, Phys. Rep. 50, 257 (1979)], the path integration of a time-dependent forced harmonic oscillator with a two-time quadratic action has been given in terms of the solutions of some integrodifferential equations. We then evaluate explicitly both the classical path and the propagator for the specific kernel introduced by Feynman in the polaron problem. Our results include the previous known results as special cases.

    Notizen: By using the Caldirola–Kanai Hamiltonian and by applying Feynman polygonal paths, exact evaluation of the propagator of one-dimensional time-dependent forced and damped harmonic oscillator, based on the work of Montroll in deriving the propagator of the harmonic oscillator with time-dependent frequency, is possible. The results are compared with previously found results.

    Notizen: Abstract Extending Montroll's method [Montroll, E. W., Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 5, 415 (1952)] to the one-dimensional time-dependent quadratic Lagrangian, we first evaluate the propagator beyond caustics by including Maslov's correction factor. The propagator at caustics is then obtained by introducing the modified semigroup property. Finally, the wave functions are derived from the propagator obtained.
