Abstract:
By dimethyl‐yellow (p‐dimethylaminoazobenzole) in extremely diluted solution oil bodies of all species of liverworts are stained. Neutral red in strongly diluted solution also effects after a long duration of staining an elective tinge of oil bodies in several liverworts. In a matter of an electro‐adsorbtive adhasion to the surface of oil bodies and to solution storage in their interior. Rhodamine B also causes an elective staining of oil bodies in praemortalic condition. By fluorescence microscopy the existence of a special cover of the oil bodies is proved by rhodamine B, auramine, acridinorange and coriphosphine. This cover is the carrier of a specific adsorbtion force for colour‐cations of basic dyes but it contains also lipophilic substances which cause by repression solubility of rhodamine B and probably the other dyes through in much smaller rate. The oil bodies of hepatics contain a plasmatic cover rich in lipoids of specific structure, the interior is filled up with a not living emulsion of an oily and aqueous phase.
