Summary A 63-year-old female with chronic stable effort angina underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) for a donating coronary artery of the collateral circulation to the jeopardized region. Because of the inefficacy of the procedure in increasing the collateral flow reserve, the patient was then put on an exercise regimine and also received heparin pretreatment. Her exercise tolerance improved remarkably with the development of improved collateral circulation.
