Notes:
Two new cyanosilicones, poly[(dicyanopropyl)dimethylsiloxane] A and poly[(dicyanopentyl)dimethylsiloxane] B, have been synthesised by reaction of the corresponding disilanols with phosgene generated in situ from triphosgene. Both polymers show glass-to-rubber transitions at about 250K and crystalline melting points at about 310K. Polymers A and B undergo thermal decomposition at 410 and 550K respectively.
