Description: The subfamily Euphorinae (excluding the tribe Meteorini Cresson) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) from China is revised. In total 150 species, belonging to 24 genera, are treated and keyed. One genus (Heia gen. nov.; type species: Heia robustipes spec. nov.) and 69 species are described as new to science.\nSeven genera and 16 species are new to the fauna of China. Three genera (Euphorus Nees, 1834, Leiophron Nees, 1818, and Peristenus Foerster, 1862) are redefined. The subgeneric division of the genus Streblocera Westwood is reassessed and one new subgenus (Villocera subgen. nov.; type species: Streblocera villosa Papp, 1985) is proposed. The following synonyms are established: Euphoriella Ashmead, 1900, with Leiophron Nees, 1818; Aridelus hunanensis You, Xiong & Zhou, 1988, with A. rutilipes Papp, 1965; Aridelus destitutes Chou, 1987, with A. nigricans Chao, 1974; Streblocera guizhouensis You & Lou, 1993, with S. villosa Papp, 1985; Bracteodes ceranae You & Zhou, 1991, with Syntretomorpha szaboi Papp, 1962 and Wesmaelia pendula Foerster, 1862, with Euphorus petiolatus Wollaston, 1850. The following new names are proposed: Streblocera chaoi nom. nov. for S. serrata Chao, 1993 and Myiocephalini nom. nov. for Loxocephalini Shaw, 1985. Wesmaelia petiolata (Wollaston, 1850) is a new combination.\nAn aberrant species of the tribe Meteorini (Meteorus erratus spec. nov.) is included, because of its similarity to some members of the tribe Perilitini Foerster, 1862.

Description: The genera and species of the subfamily Rogadinae Foerster, 1862 sensu stricto from China are revised. A key to the Chinese genera is given and all genera, including three genera new to science and four new to China, are described and illustrated. Keys to the Chinese species of Rogadinae are provided. Of all 116 species, 46 species are described as new to science and 11 species as newly recorded from China, while in addition four new combinations (Arcaleiodes aglaurus (Chen & He, 1991), A. nitidus (Chen & He, 1991), A. pulchricorpus (Chen & He, 1991), and A. unifasciatus (Chen & He, 1991)) and one synonym (Spinaria bicolor Sz\xc3\xa9pligeti, 1902, of S. armator (Fabricius, 1804)) are proposed.

Notes: The effect of synthesis conditions on the electrical conductivity and the morphology of a chemically oxidized polypyrrole was investigated. It was found that the electrical conductivity of polypyrrole was strongly dependent on the pyrrole/FeCl3 ratio, which controls the redox potential of the reaction medium. The reaction temperature and the reaction duration also influence the electrical conductivity of the polypyrrole. A considerable influence of the nature of the solvent used on the aggregation state of polypyrrole particles was demonstrated. Optimal experimental conditions are proposed.

Notes: Results of measurements of the electrical conductivity of low density polyethylene/polypyrrole and polystyrene/polypyrrole composites are reported. It is observed that the electrical conductivity of the composite vs. concentration follows the power law predicted by the percolation theory. The manufacturing process influences the homogeneity of the composite at microscopic scale and thus the percolation threshold. Annealing studies show that the stability of the electrical conductivity of the composite is related to the thermal expansion of the polymers and the relaxation of the polymer chains. The decrease of the electrical conductivity of the composite is attributed to the interruption of the percolation path.

Notes: The activation energies of two wood sawdusts were determined using an experimental technique based on the crossing-point temperature concept, which was derived from the transient model of self-heating in a solid. The two samples used in this study were treated and untreated sawdust. The activation energies measured were 106 ± 4 kJ mol-1 for the treated sawdust and 90 ± 3 kJ mol-1 for the untreated sawdust. These values are similar to those in previously published results which were obtained using the steady-state model. The transient model provides a quicker yet sufficiently accurate method of determining thermal ignition kinetics.
