Abstract:
Ultraviolet absorption bands of hydrogen-bonded dimers and trimers of indazole (Ia 2 , Ia 3 ) and several indazole-water complexes (Ia·H 2 O, Ia·(H 2 O) 2 , and Ia 2 ·H 2 O) have been identified in a He supersonic jet seeded with indazole vapor. Spectra were recorded using laser induced fluorescence (LIF) excitation, burn-probe type fluorescence-dip hole-burning, and one-color mass-resolved resonance enhanced two-photon ionization (R2PI) spectroscopies. Excitation laser power dependent changes in the spectra have been ascribed to optical saturation, dissociation by breaking of hydrogen bonds of a complex, and other fragmentation effects.
