Abstract:
What's new? Although the H.pylori bacteria is the primary cause of gastric cancer, in some cases the Epstein‐Barr virus also appears to be involved. In this study, the authors compared smoking and alcohol use between patients with EBV‐positive and EBV‐negative gastric cancers. No association was found with alcohol use, but smokers were more likely to have EBV‐positive cancer.
