Description:
Rare-earth permanent magnetic nanoflakes and nanoparticles have drawn great attention due to their potential applications in fabricating permanent magnets with high performance. In this work, the anisotropic PrCo 5 nanoflakes were fabricated via surfactant-assisted ball milling at low temperature and room temperature, and the morphology, microstructure, and magnetic properties were investigated systematically. It is found that, compared with the sample milled at room temperature, the PrCo 5 nanoflakes prepared at low temperature have a better crystallinity, stronger [001] out-of-plane texture, more regular shape with smaller thickness, and excellent magnetic properties, especially a higher degree of grain alignment and larger remanence ratio ( M r / M s ).
