Description: Raw data acquired by position sensors on board RV Polarstern during expedition PS130/2 was processed to receive a validated master track which can be used as reference of further expedition data. During PS130/2 two Trimble Marine SPS461 GPS receivers and the iXBlue HYDRINS hydrographic survey inertial navigation system were used as navigation sensors. Data were downloaded from DAVIS SHIP data base (https://dship.awi.de) with a resolution of 1 sec. Processed data are provided as a master track with 1 sec resolution derived from the position sensors' data selected by priority and a generalized track with a reduced set of the most significant positions of the master track.

Description: This dataset contains processed ocean temperature and salinity data at a depth of 11m along the cruise track. Raw data acquired by two SBE21 thermosalinographs and two auxiliary SBE38 temperature sensors (Sea-Bird Scientific, USA) installed in an underway seawater flow-through system on board RV Polarstern were processed to yield a calibrated and validated data set of temperature and salinity along the cruise track. Data were downloaded from DAVIS SHIP data base (https://dship.awi.de) at a resolution of 1 sec, and converted to temperature and conductivity using the pre-deployment factory calibration coefficients. The converted data were averaged to 1 min values, outliers were removed, and sensor drift was corrected using coefficients obtained from a post-season calibration performed at Sea-Bird at the end of the measurement season. Salinity was calculated from internal temperature, conductivity and pressure according to the PSS-78 Practical Salinity Scale. Processed data are provided as 1 min means of seawater temperature, conductivity and salinity, aligned with position data taken from the master track. Quality flags are appended according to the SeaDataNet Data Quality Control Procedures (version from May 2010). More details are described in the attached processing report.

Description: Research expedition PS130/2 took place from 22nd of May 2022 (Las Palmas, Spain) to the 29th of May (Bremerhaven, Germany). Physical oceanographical data for a single station was recorded (Seasave V 7.23.1) using a Seabird Electronics SBE911 plus CTD mounted in a SBE water sampler rosette. The file contains the data for pressure (SN 0485), temperature (SN 2417 & SN 2460), conductivity (SN 2054 & SN2055), salinity, density and dissolved oxygen concentration (SN 0880) for the downcast of the instrument. Raw data were processed (SBE Data Processing V 7.26.2.14) according to Seabird recommendations which are filtering of pressure data (0.15 s), hysteresis correction for oxygen (default values from instrument configuration file), cell thermal mass correction (default values) and loop edit (default values). For redundant sensors only the average is reported. The file contains the bad data flag (Flag SBE), derived from the SBE Data Processing software, invalidating the values of all sensors of the respective scans as well as an individual flag for each parameter resulting from the recommendations for real-time data processing of EuroGOOS and GTSPP and the outlier detection method CoTeDe (https://github.com/castelao/CoTeDe). Details for these procedures are included in the file header.

Description: Raw physical oceanography data was acquired by a ship-based Seabird SBE911plus CTD-Rosette system onboard RV POLARSTERN during research cruises PS130/1 and PS130/2. The CTD was equipped with duplicate sensors for temperature (SBE3plus) and conductivity (SBE4). Additional sensors such as an oxygen sensor (SBE43), a WET Labs C-Star transmissometer, a WET Labs ECO-AFL fluorometer (FLRTD) and an altimeter (Teledyne Benthos PSA-916) were mounted to the CTD. The data was recorded using pre-cruise calibration coefficients. No correction, post-cruise calibration or quality control was applied. Additionally we provide text files containing temperature, salinity and sound velocity (recorded with sensor pair one) created using SBEDataProcessing step "Data Conversion" without applying any correction. The processed dataset is available via the link below.

Description: Multibeam data were collected during RV Polarstern cruise PS139/1 (2023-10-22 to 2023-11-03). Multibeam sonar system was Atlas Hydrographic Hydrosweep DS 3 multibeam echo sounder. Data are processed with Caris HIPS, with SV data from CTDs and World Ocean Atlas 18 (https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/archive/accession/NCEI-WOA18), tidal correction with TPXO9_atlas_v5 (https://www.tpxo.net/global/tpxo9-atlas), and manual cleaning. The soundings are combined in daily files, the format is XYZ ASCII (〈Lon〉 〈Lat〉 〈Depth in meters, positive up, relative to mean sea level〉). Additional blockmedian grids have been computed with depth dependent cell size to visualize the data. These grids are not meant for scientific analysis or navigation, but for overview purposes only.

Description: Multibeam data were collected with RV Polarstern along the route of cruise PS139/1 and data acquisition was continuously monitored during the survey. Multibeam sonar system was Teledyne/Atlas Hydrosweep DS3. SVPs were retrieved from CTD data and synthetic profiles from World Ocean Atlas 18. SVPs were processed with HydrOffice SoundSpeedManager (https://www.hydroffice.org/soundspeed/main) and extended with World Ocean Atlas 18 (https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/archive/accession/NCEI-WOA18). SVP data were applied during acquisition. Multibeam data are unprocessed and may contain outliers and blunders and should not be used for grid calculations and charting projects without further editing. The raw multibeam sonar data in Teledyne Reson multibeam processing format (.s7k) were recorded with Teledyne PDS software. Raw data files can be processed using software packages like CARIS HIPS/SIPS. For updated vessel configuration files check further details.
