Abstract: In order to solve the soil problem of poor structure and low fertility after the abandoned homestead reclamation of Hollow Village in Loess Area and to improve the quality of the reclaimed soil in Hollow Village, a five-year field experiment was conducted here. In this experiment, the following seven treatments were applied: no modified material (CK), maturing agent (TM), fly ash (TF), organic fertilizer (TO), maturing agent + fly ash (TMF), maturing agent + organic fertilizer (TMO) and fly ash + organic fertilizer (TFO), and the effects of different improved materials on soil properties and crop yield were studied. The results showed that: soil organic matter (SOM) and total nitrogen contents increased significantly after the application of different improved materials, which promoted the cementation and aggregation of water-stable microaggregates ( 〈  0.25 mm), and the water-stable macroaggregates showed an increasing trend. In the 0–0.15 m soil layer, the proportion of water-stable macroaggregates under TM, TF, TO, TMF, TMO, and TFO treatment increased by 328.2%, 130.0%, 87.8%, 81.1%, 36.7%, and 12.2% compared with CK, respectively. Meanwhile, TF, TO, TMF, TMO, TFO treatments significantly increased the mean weight diameter (MWD) and geometric mean diameter (GMD) values, reduced soil bulk density, the stable aggregate index ( E LT ) and fractal dimension ( D ) values ( P   〈  0.05), and the stability of soil structure and the capacity of soil moisture retention has been significantly improved. The SOM content had a significant positive correlation with MWD, GMD, and  〉  2 mm water-stable aggregates and a significant negative correlation with the E LT , D , and water-stable microaggregates. In particular, the organic–inorganic coupling treatment of TFO showed the highest SOM content, soil moisture content, water-stable macroaggregates and maize yield, which was the most appropriate amendment for improving the reclaimed soil structure and fertility of Hollow Village in Loess Area.

Abstract: Taxonomic and functional research of microorganisms has increasingly relied upon genome-based data and methods. As the depository of the Global Catalogue of Microorganisms (GCM) 10K prokaryotic type strain sequencing project, Global Catalogue of Type Strain (gcType) has published 1049 type strain genomes sequenced by the GCM 10K project which are preserved in global culture collections with a valid published status. Additionally, the information provided through gcType includes & gt;12 000 publicly available type strain genome sequences from GenBank incorporated using quality control criteria and standard data annotation pipelines to form a high-quality reference database. This database integrates type strain sequences with their phenotypic information to facilitate phenotypic and genotypic analyses. Multiple formats of cross-genome searches and interactive interfaces have allowed extensive exploration of the database's resources. In this study, we describe web-based data analysis pipelines for genomic analyses and genome-based taxonomy, which could serve as a one-stop platform for the identification of prokaryotic species. The number of type strain genomes that are published will continue to increase as the GCM 10K project increases its collaboration with culture collections worldwide. Data of this project is shared with the International Nucleotide Sequence Database Collaboration. Access to gcType is free at http://gctype.wdcm.org/.

Abstract: This multicenter, randomized, noninferiority trial compared electroacupuncture with prucalopride for the treatment of severe chronic constipation (SCC). METHODS: Participants with SCC (≤ 2 mean weekly complete spontaneous bowel movements [CSBMs]) were randomly assigned to receive either 28-session electroacupuncture over 8 weeks with follow-up without treatment over 24 weeks or prucalopride (2 mg/d before breakfast) over 32 weeks. The primary outcome was the proportion of participants with ≥3 mean weekly CSBMs over weeks 3–8, based on the modified intention-to-treat population, with −10% as the noninferior margin. RESULTS: Five hundred sixty participants were randomized, 280 in each group. Electroacupuncture was noninferior to prucalopride for the primary outcome (36.2% vs 37.8%, with a difference of −1.6% [95% confidence interval, −8% to 4.7%], P 〈 0.001 for noninferiority); almost the same results were found in the per-protocol population. The proportions of overall CSBM responders through weeks 1–8 were similar in the electroacupuncture and prucalopride groups (24.91% vs 25.54%, with a difference of −0.63% [95% confidence interval, −7.86% to 6.60%, P = 0.864]). Except during the first 2-week treatment, no between-group differences were found in outcomes of excessive straining, stool consistency, and quality of life. Adverse events occurred in 49 (17.69%) participants in the electroacupuncture group and 123 (44.24%) in the prucalopride group. One non-treatment-related serious adverse event was recorded in the electroacupuncture group. DISCUSSION: Electroacupuncture was noninferior to prucalopride in relieving SCC with a good safety profile. The effects of 8-week electroacupuncture could sustain for 24 weeks after treatment. Electroacupuncture is a promising noninferior alternative for SCC (see Visual Abstract, http://links.lww.com/AJG/B776).

Abstract: During the operation of permanent magnet synchronous motor, the traditional vector control method does not match the regulator parameters with the actual parameters due to the disturbance factors such as motor parameter perturbation and load change, resulting in the decline of control performance. The research object of robust control is uncertain system, which has natural advantages for improving the robustness of control system. Firstly, this paper introduces the basic principle and implementation process of robust control, simulates and analyzes the influence of motor parameters on control performance, investigates and summarizes the improvement methods of traditional vector control, and points out the advantages and disadvantages of each scheme; Secondly, the similarities and differences of the improved methods are analyzed and compared; Finally, the development trend of permanent magnet synchronous motor control technology based on robust control is prospected.

Abstract: Helicobacter pylori ( H. pylori ) is one of the main causes of gastric cancer. It has been reported that circRNAs play a vital role in the development of multiple types of cancer. However, the role of H. pylori -induced circRNAs in the development of gastric cancer has not been studied. In this study, we found that H. pylori could induce the upregulation of circMAN1A2 in AGS and BGC823 cells independent of CagA. The downregulation of circMAN1A2 could inhibit the proliferation, migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells, and circMAN1A2 could promote the progression of gastric cancer induced by H. pylori by sponging miR-1236-3p to regulate MTA2 expression. Furthermore, circMAN1A2 knockdown inhibited xenograft tumour growth in vivo, and the overexpression of circMAN1A2 was associated with the progression of gastric cancer. Hence, Helicobacter pylori induced circMAN1A2 expression to promote the carcinogenesis of gastric cancer, and circMAN1A2 might be a new potential diagnostic marker and therapeutic target for gastric cancer.

Abstract: Opioid-induced constipation (OIC) is prevalent among patients treated with opioids for cancer pain. Safe and effective therapies for OIC in patients with cancer remain an unmet need. Objective To determine the efficacy of electroacupuncture (EA) for OIC in patients with cancer. Design, Setting, and Participants This randomized clinical trial was conducted at 6 tertiary hospitals in China among 100 adult patients with cancer who were screened for OIC and enrolled between May 1, 2019, and December 11, 2021. Interventions Patients were randomized to receive 24 sessions of EA or sham electroacupuncture (SA) over 8 weeks and then were followed up for 8 weeks after treatment. Main Outcomes and Measures The primary outcome was the proportion of overall responders, defined as patients who had at least 3 spontaneous bowel movements (SBMs) per week and an increase of at least 1 SBM from baseline in the same week for at least 6 of the 8 weeks of the treatment period. All statistical analyses were based on the intention-to-treat principle. Results A total of 100 patients (mean [SD] age, 64.4 [10.5] years; 56 men [56.0%]) underwent randomization; 50 were randomly assigned to each group. Among them, 44 of 50 patients (88.0%) in the EA group and 42 of 50 patients (84.0%) in the SA group received at least 20 (≥83.3%) sessions of treatment. The proportion of overall responders at week 8 was 40.1% (95% CI, 26.1%-54.1%) in the EA group and 9.0% (95% CI, 0.5%-17.4%) in the SA group (difference between groups, 31.1 percentage points [95% CI, 14.8-47.6 percentage points] ; P   & amp;lt; .001). Compared with SA, EA provided greater relief for most OIC symptoms and improved quality of life among patients with OIC. Electroacupuncture had no effects on cancer pain and its opioid treatment dosage. Electroacupuncture-related adverse events were rare, and, if any, all were mild and transient. Conclusions and Relevance This randomized clinical trial found that 8-week EA treatment could increase weekly SBMs with a good safety profile and improve quality of life for the treatment of OIC. Electroacupuncture thus provided an alternative option for OIC in adult patients with cancer. Trial Registration ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03797586

Abstract: It is of vital importance to capture lanthanides (nuclear fission products) from waste solutions for radionuclide remediation owing to their hazards. The effective separation of lanthanides are achieved by an acid/base‐stable and radiation‐resistant vanadate, namely, [Me 2 NH 2 ]V 3 O 7 ( 1 ). It exhibits high adsorption capacities for lanthanides ( q m Eu =161.4 mg g −1 ; q m Sm =139.2 mg g −1 ). And high adsorption capacities are maintained over a pH range of 2.0–6.9 ( q m Eu =75.1 mg g −1 at low pH of 2.5). It displays high selectivity for Eu 3+ (simulant of An 3+ ) against a large excess of interfering ions. It can efficiently separate Eu 3+ and Cs + (or Sr 2+ ) with the highest separation factor SF Eu/Cs of 156 (SF Eu/Sr of 134) to date. The adsorption mechanism is revealed by calculations and XPS, EXAFS, Raman, and elemental analyses. These merits combined with facile synthesis and convenient elution makes the title vanadate a promising lanthanide scavenger for environmental remediation.
