    Abstract: Seribu Islands National Park is located off the north coast of Jakarta and consists of 110 islands. This study aims to determine the distribution and density of megabenthos in coral reef ecosystems in the Seribu Islands National Park. This research was conducted in November 2021 in the Seribu Islands National Park waters. Megabenthos observations were carried out using the Benthos Belt Transect method, a development of the Belt Transect Method for monitoring megabenthos combined with the Reef Check Benthos method. Based on observations in the waters of the Seribu Islands National Park, five types of megabenthos were found, including clams ( Tridacna sp.), lola ( Trochus sp.), Crown-of-torns starfish ( Acanthaster planci ), drupella ( Drupella sp.), and sea urchins ( Diadema sp.). The highest density of megabenthos was found on Kayuangin Genteng Island, with a density of 8,786 ind/ha, while the lowest was on Peteloran Barat Island, with 429 ind/ha. Based on the type of megabenthos at all observation stations, the most abundant megabenthos found was Diadema sp., with a density of 43,397 ind/ha. In comparison, the least was Acanthaster planci of 214 ind/ha. Megabenthos in the Seribu Islands National Park waters are in various conditions.

    Abstract: The Anambas Islands have many unique traditional products derived from marine products. One of the famous traditional products is smoked tuna. This study aims to determine the chemical characteristics of smoked tuna processed by smoked fish craftsmen on Jemaja Island, Anambas Islands Regency. This research was divided into three stages, identifying the type of raw materials used, sensory analysis, and proximate analysis. The raw material for smoked tuna is known to come from two types of fish, namely Auxis thazard and Thunnus tonggol. The sensory analysis results with the parameters of appearance, aroma, taste, and texture of smoked tuna from the two raw materials were not significantly different for all parameters. These results are the same as the proximate analysis values which consist of testing the water, ash, fat, protein, and carbohydrate content. Based on the overall results of smoked tuna made from Auxis thazard and Thunnus tonggol it is still by the applicable SNI 2725:2013, except moisture content.

    Abstract: Ekosistem terumbu karang merupakan ekosistem yang rentan terhadap kerusakan. Berbagai aktivitas manusia yang tidak ramah lingkungan dan perubahan iklim global telah menyebabkan kondisi ekosistem terumbu karang mengalami kerusakan, sehingga kondisi tutupan karang hidup yang baik semakin menurun, sementara yang mengalami kerusakan semakin meningkat. Untuk menjaga kondisi dan kelestarian ekosistem terumbu karang di Perairan Desa Sebong Lagoi agar tidak menurun, maka diperlukan suatu upaya konservasi terumbu karang. Salah satu upaya konservasi yang dapat dilakukan yaitu kegiatan transplantasi karang. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini adalah diharapkan kelompok masyarakat Kampung Baru, Desa Sebong Lagoi mampu melakukan kegiatan transplantasi karang, mulai dari tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, hingga perawatan. Kegiatan yang dilakukan yaitu memberikan pengenalan dan pelatihan kegiatan tranplantasi karang kepada kelompok masyarakat Kampung Baru, Desa Sebong Lagoi mulai dari kegiatan persiapan dalam memilih lokasi dan peralatan yang dibutuhkan, pelaksanaan kegiatan transplantasi yaitu pemilihan induk dan metode transplantasi karang, serta pendampingan sehingga mampu mengaplikasikan kegiatan transplantasi dan perawatan transplantasi karang. Kegiatan ini mendapat respon positif dan antusias dari Kelompok Masyarakat Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) dan masyarakat Kampung Baru Desa Sebong Lagoi terkait kegiatan pengabdian tersebut, serta kegiatan pengabdian dapat dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan secara tatap muka dengan masyarakat, namun dengan memperhatikan protokol Covid-19.

    Abstract: Benan is one of the islands located in Senayang District, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands. Most of the people on Benan Island work as sea cucumber fishermen, this is because the existence of sea cucumbers on the island is still abundant. The processing of liquid waste originating from post-harvest sea cucumbers in the form of wet sea cucumbers and dry sea cucumbers has not been carried out optimally, even though the more raw materials for sea cucumbers are prepared at the time of postharvest, the more waste generated will also be. The problem with partners is that the liquid waste originating from the post-harvest preparation of sea cucumbers has not been carried out optimally. The solution given to partners is education through socialization of liquid waste processing from the results of postharvest preparation of sea cucumbers into local microorganisms (MOL) in the Benan village field trip group, so that postharvest processing of sea cucumbers becomes zero waste. The methods in the activities carried out are discussion and socialization. The results obtained after this service is increasing public knowledge about sea cucumber wastewater treatment.

    Abstract: Potensi rumput laut di perairan Natuna sangat tinggi akan tetapi penelitian tentang kandungan kimianya masih sangat minim, padahal masyarakat di sana sering mengonsumsinya. Salah satu rumput laut yang sering dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pangan adalah rumput laut hijau jenis Caulerpa yang dikenal dengan nama “latoh”. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melakukan karakterisasi kimia rumput laut jenis C. racemosa dan C. taxifolia dari perairan Natuna untuk mengetahui kandungan gizinya. Tahapan penelitian ini meliputi pengujian komposisi proksimat, serat pangan dan perhitungan energi yang dibutuhkan oleh tubuh manusia. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa nilai proksimat C. taxifolia lebih tinggi bila dibandingkan dengan C. racemosa, kecuali pada kadar abunya. Nilai serat pangan tertinggi terdapat pada C. taxifolia. Perhitungan energi pada C. taxifolia mempunyai nilai yang tinggi jika dikonsumsi oleh manusia (273,24 kkal/100 g) bila dibandingkan dengan C. racemosa (198,58 kkal/100 g). Komposisi tersebut menggambarkan bahwa karakteristik rumput laut dari perairan Natuna jenis C. taxifolia memiliki kandungan gizi yang lebih tinggi bila dibandingkan dengan C. racemosa untuk sumber bahan pangan.

    Abstract: Penelitian budidaya Spirulina platensis skala laboratorium di Indonesia mengalami perkembangan yang cukup signifikan, tetapi banyak kendala pada saat pemanenan yaitu mulai dari harga yang tinggi, cara pemanenan yang kurang efektif dan waktu pemanenan yang sangat lama. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan metode elektrokoagulasi dalam pemanenan S. platensis menggunakan tegangan yang berbeda. Tahapan penelitian meliputi budidaya mikroalga, proses elektrokoagulasi, dan pemanenan S. platensis, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan analisis biomassa S. platensis, komposisi proksimat, dan kualitas air (pH, suhu, dan kadar besi (Fe)). Perlakuan panen mikroalga dengan metode elektrokoagulasi menggunakan tegangan 0, 5, 10 dan 15 volt (kode masing-masing F0, F1, F2, dan F3). Panen biomassa terbaik dengan elektrokoagulasi dari perlakuan F3 adalah 6,05 gr/L. Hasil analisis proksimat S. platensis pada perlakuan F0, F1, F2, dan F3 berturut-turut yaitu kadar air sebesar 24,58%; 12,32%; 15,36%; 17,48%, kadar abu sebesar 26,56%; 22,42%; 26,53%; 34,99%, kadar protein sebesar 34,24%; 30,26%; 25,81%; 21,67%, kadar lemak sebesar 1,27%; 0,86%; 1,65%; 0,65%, dan kadar karbohidrat sebesar 13,35%; 34,15%; 30,66%; 25,22%. Hasil kualitas air perlakuan F0, F1, F2, dan F3 berturut-turut adalah pH 7, 7, 9, 8, suhu 32°C, 32°C, 32°C, 34°C, kadar besi (Fe) 0,1 mg/L; 8,01 mg/L; 12,58 mg/L; 12,29 mg/L. Perlakuan terbaik terjadi pada pemanenan F3 karena biomassa yang dipanen sangat tinggi.

    Abstract: Research on the combination of natural ingredients from brown seaweed and Moringa, to be used as sunscreen has been nothing. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the best formulation from sunscreen evaluation. In this study, the ratio of Moringa oleifera and Turbinaria conoides was 1:1 (cream L), 2:1 (cream M), 1:2 (cream N), and control (no added both of natural ingredients) (cream K). The evaluation of sunscreen cream by Sun Protection Factor (SPF) activity, viscosity, pH, homogeneity, and microbial test. SPF values in this study from cream K, L, M, and N were 0.75±2.31, 17.80±0.97, 9.48±1.41, and 15.97±2.38, respectively. Viscosity values were 22,400 cPs for cream K; 32,400 cPs for cream L; 26,000 cPs for cream M; and 32,800 cPs for cream N. The pH value of sunscreen cream in cream K, L, M, N were 7.30±0.02, 6.51±0.02, 6.38±0.04, and 6.43±0.04, respectively. In all of the treatments of sunscreen cream, microbial tests are absent and have good homogeneity. The ratio of 1:1 (cream L) between M. oleifera and T. conoides has a good synergistic effect to ward off UV B light, therefore cream L is the best sunscreen cream in this study.

    Abstract: The immotilization technique of cantang grouper (Epinephelus sp.) Using Datura metel L. leaf extract. The purpose of this study was to find the best concentration at onset time of Datura metel L. leaves as anesthetic agent for grouper (Epinephelus sp.) And its survival rate. The results of the study, using extracts of natural anesthetic ingredients of amethyst leaves with concentrations of 20%, 25%, and 30% had different effects (P 〈 0.05) on the onset time and recovery of grouper fish. In this study, it provides a life passing rate of 100% at concentrate 20%, and 25%, while concentrate 30% has a 66.67% survival rate. The best concentration in this study was concentrate 30%, with an onset time of 32.07 minutes with a recovery time of 9.07 minutes. This study used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD).

    Abstract: The abundance of fish in Natuna waters, especially tuna, so that many food products are produced such as crackers, kernas and mando tables. Mando table is a typical Natuna food made from smoked tuna and sago flour which is then mixed with grated coconut and other spices, boiled tuna, steamed tuna and fried tuna. The process of making mando tables includes preparation of raw materials, determination of mando table formulations, manufacture of mando tables, organoleptic testing, proximate testing and TPA (Texture Profile Analysis). The testing parameters of this research include organoleptic test, proximate testing and TPA (Texture Profile Analysis). From the results of the study from the Mando table, it can be used for organoleptic testing at T1 (30% smoked fish and 26% sago flour) has a yellow brown color, at T1 it has a stronger fish aroma, for T2 it has a savory taste and sufficient fish taste and T2 It has a dense and compact texture. The proximate test results in the Mando T1 table have the best treatment with parameters water content 33.24%, ash content 1.067%, fat content 13.189%, protein content 0.72% and carbohydrate content 50.884%. The results of the TPA (Texture Profile Analysis) test are the best values ??for hardness 2.820%, springiness 64.67%, cohesiviness 0.28% and adhesiveness 51.59% in T1 treatment.

    Abstract: Solid organic fertilizer is a fertilizer that is composed of living things, such as weathering the remains of plants, animals, and humans. Solid fertilizer from tuna fish innards and seaweed is made by fermenting it for 2 weeks and then filtering it and then drying it and applying it to mustard plants. The parameters tested in this study were in the form of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium tests and continued by looking at the growth period of stem height, length, and leaf width on mustard plants. The best research results from the mixture of fish offal waste, seaweed and rice were found in the FP3 treatment, namely the composition of a mixture of 50% fish offal waste, 45% seaweed and 5% rice. The results of testing the value of N,P,K content showed the best test results were obtained in the FP3 treatment with a mixture composition of 50% fish offal waste, 45% seaweed and 5% rice, with a N value (6.17%), P (7270 ,10 mg/kg) K (2624.92 mg/100kg).
