    Abstract: With event-driven algorithms, especially spiking neural networks (SNNs), achieving continuous improvement in neuromorphic vision processing, a more challenging event-stream dataset is urgently needed. However, it is well-known that creating an ES-dataset is a time-consuming and costly task with neuromorphic cameras like dynamic vision sensors (DVS). In this work, we propose a fast and effective algorithm termed Omnidirectional Discrete Gradient (ODG) to convert the popular computer vision dataset ILSVRC2012 into its event-stream (ES) version, generating about 1,300,000 frame-based images into ES-samples in 1,000 categories. In this way, we propose an ES-dataset called ES-ImageNet, which is dozens of times larger than other neuromorphic classification datasets at present and completely generated by the software. The ODG algorithm implements image motion to generate local value changes with discrete gradient information in different directions, providing a low-cost and high-speed method for converting frame-based images into event streams, along with Edge-Integral to reconstruct the high-quality images from event streams. Furthermore, we analyze the statistics of ES-ImageNet in multiple ways, and a performance benchmark of the dataset is also provided using both famous deep neural network algorithms and spiking neural network algorithms. We believe that this work shall provide a new large-scale benchmark dataset for SNNs and neuromorphic vision.

    Abstract: Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a heterogeneous disease and the existing prognosis systems based on clinical variables are difficult to stratify patients accurately. Nutritional indices play a meaningful role in prognosis of solid tumors, whereas the effect on DLBCL is still equivocal. This retrospective study aimed to develop a novel model based on nutritional indices and other clinical variables to accurately differentiate the prognosis of DLBCL. Methods A total of 129 patients pathologically diagnosed with DLBCL in Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from 2014 to 2018 were retrospectively recruited. The total fat area (TFA), visceral fat area (VFA) and subcutaneous fat area (SFA) at the third lumbar vertebra level spine were obtained by computed tomography (CT) to assess the effect of nutritional status on the prognosis of DLBCL. Principal component analysis was used to reduce the dimension of nutritional indices, and continuous variables were evaluated according to X-Tile and Restricted cubic spline. Univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazard analyses were performed on potential variables. Kaplan-Meier method was utilized to evaluate survival probabilities and the differences between groups were assessed by log-rank test. Results X-Tile analysis divided VFA and albumin into two and three groups when applying 114.7 cm 2 of VFA, 38.3 and 42.4 g/L of albumin as the optimal cut-off points, respectively. The final scoring model of nutrition-related prognostic index (NPI) comprised four independent prognostic variables. The C-index of the final model was 0.823 [95% CI (0.749~0.897)] by bootstrap resampling. Finally, a maximum score of 6 points was obtained. Compared with IPI, NCCN-IPI and GELTAMO-IPI, NPI showed better accuracy in discerning the prognostic risk of patients. Conclusion VFA and albumin were associated with the prognosis of DLBCL, and the NPI model based on nutritional indices could better stratify the prognosis of DLBCL.

    Abstract: Introduction: The southwestern Sichuan fold-thrust belt (SWSB) is a duplex detachment system and features the basal Precambrian detachment at a depth of approximately 15–17 km and the upper Mid-Triassic detachment. Moreover, the SWSB undergoes forward-breaking propagation during the Cenozoic. To date, the mechanism and kinematic evolution governing the SWSB in this thrusting deformation as well as the way the two detachments control the structural deformation pattern of the SWSB remains unknown. Methods: In this work, three discrete-element numerical models with the same strong upper detachment but basal detachments with different mechanical strengths and thicknesses were designed to study the deformation of the SWSB. Results: The results indicate that for the Model I with a strong frictional basal detachment with thickness of 500 m, most deformation and thrust faults concentrate near the mobile backwall. Model I exhibits characteristics such as linearly increasing wedge height and stepwise increasing wedge width and slope angle. For the Model II with a modest frictional basal detachment with thickness of 500 m, the strain and deformation propagate into the foreland quickly and multiple back-thrust and thrust faults form on the upper detachment in the second thrusting period. The first thrusting period in Model II, exhibits similarities with Model I. However, in the second period, the wedge reaches a stable state, and its geometry remains constant. In this stage, the deformation propagates along the shallow detachment into the right side of the model. The geometry and activity of thrust faults in the foreland differ significantly in the model III with a modest frictional basal detachment but a greater thickness. Two additional pop-up structures are generated in the second period in this model. The first half of the first thrusting period is similar to the first two models. In the second half of the first period and the second period, the wedge is in a stable state. In the first stage of the shortening, all models undergo a transition from a subcritical state to entering a supercritical state, which indicates that the deformation is progressing rapidly along the basal detachment towards the right side of the model. Discussion: The results of Model III are consistent with the deformation pattern of the SWSB. The study of the kinematics and interaction between two detachments could help hydrocarbon exploration beneath the upper detachment.

    Abstract: In a light-emitting diode (LED) package, silicone encapsulant serves as a chip protector and enables the light to transmit, since it exhibits the advantages of high light transmittance, high refractive index, and high thermal stability. However, its reliability is still challenged under harsh operation conditions. In this study, the optical and mechanical properties of silicone encapsulant, including appearance, light transmittance, Young’s modulus, and tensile strength, were experimentally monitored during the sulfur-rich ageing process. Meanwhile, the Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation were used to reveal its degradation mechanism. The results show that 1) in the sulfur (S 8 )-rich ageing process, the severe vulcanization reaction occurred in silicone encapsulant assisted only by high temperature and high moisture, with the existence of H 2 S as the reaction product of S 8 and H 2 O vapor. 2) Vulcanization characterized by the formation of the sulfhydryl (-SH) group lowered both optical and mechanical properties of silicone encapsulant. 3) The hydrolysis reaction featured by the formation of the hydroxyl (-OH) group decreased the mechanical performances of silicone encapsulant but brought slight harm to its optical performances.
