    Description / Table of Contents: Electrical Resistance of Rubidium and Caesium Oxides with High Metal ContentElectrical conductivities of Cs and Rb suboxides have been measured in the temperature range between 1.6 K and 350 K by means of a contactless eddy current method. The specific conductivities of the Cs compounds (Cs7O, Cs11O3) and the Rb compounds (Rb6O, Rb9O2) are found to be reduced by 60% and 40%, respectively, as compared to the elements Cs and Rb. Measurements on heterogeneous sample show an influence of grain boundaries only at oxygen contents higher than 13 at.-%. Metastable systems obtained by quenching of the melts exhibit interesting electrical properties. Samples of the composition CsxO (4 〈 x 〈 6) and RbxO (x ∼ 7) are easily obtained as amorphous metals. The irreversible temperature behaviour of the electrical resistivity is indicative of the complex ordering process leading to the crystalline phases.
    Notes: Mit Hilfe kontaktloser Induktionsmessungen werden die elektrischen Leitfähigkeiten von Cs- und Rb-Suboxiden bei Temperaturen zwischen 1,6 K und 350 K ermittelt. Im Vergleich zu den Elementen Cs und Rb werden um etwa 60% bzw. 40% verminderte spezifische Leitfähigkeiten für die Cs-Verbindungen (Cs7O, Cs11O3) bzw. die Rb-Verbindungen (Rb6O, Rb9O2) gefunden. Bei Messungen an heterogenen Gemengen machen sich die Korngrenzenbeiträge nur bei Sauerstoffgehalten oberhalb etwa 13 At.-% störend bemerkbar. Von besonderem Interesse sind die Messungen an metastabilen Systemen, die durch Abschrecken erhalten werden. Proben der Zusammensetzung CsxO (4 〈 x 〈 6) und RbxO (x ∼ 7) können leicht als amorphe Metalle erhalten werden. Der komplexe Ordnungsvorgang zu den kristallisierten Phasen drückt sich deutlich im (irreversiblen) Temperaturverlauf des elektrischen Widerstandes aus.
