    Description: Mit Hilfe von Verdünnungsreihen wurde während eines Jahres monatlich die Zahl der im Elbwasser bei Bleckede vorhandenen Nitrit- und Nitratbakterien bestimmt. Es zeigte sich, daß die Zahl der ersteren in den Sommermonaten mindestens eine Zehnerpotenz höher lag. Monthly counts of Nitrosomonas- and Nitrobacter cells have clone by the MPN-Method during one year in the river Elbe near Bleckede. In Summer the Nitrosomonas counts were at least 10 times higher than the Nitrobacter counts.
