Abstract: Due to the large voltage-induced strain along with other unique attributes, dielectric elastromers are being developed as transducers for broad applications in soft robots, adaptive structures, medical devices, energy harvesting and so on. Due to nonlinear large deformation and diverse modes of failure, it has been challenging to model dielectric transducers. This paper focuses on the optimization design of an actuator made of a layer of dielectric elastomer membrane and deformed into an out-of plane axisymmetric shape. The optimization procedure is demonstrated by examining the effect of three designing parameters, originated from the pre-stretch of the membrane, on the performance of the actuator, and by determining the region of allowable states in terms of several typical modes of failure. The equations of state are solved numerically by shooting method and the obtained numerical results indicate that the considered variables are sensitive to the designing parameters and that it is feasible to improve the performance of the actuator by choosing the designing parameters judiciously and averting the modes of failure. The approach presented here provides some guidelines in optimizing such actuators.

Abstract: Thanks to its capability of providing seamless massive access and extended coverage, satellite communication has been envisioned as a promising complementary part of the future 6G network. Due to the large satellite-to-ground propagation loss, noise mitigation is one of the most important considerations for implementing key interface technologies on boarding a satellite, e.g., random access (RA). This paper aims at developing an effective preamble detection method with noise suppression for 5G-ntegrated satellite RA systems. Specifically, according to the satellite ephemeris and user equipment location, we first perform the pre-compensation of timing and frequency offset before preamble transmission to determine all the possible correlation peak positions in advance. By leveraging the advantage of the wavelet transform in signal-to-noise separation, we further design a novel detection framework based on wavelet denoising, which can efficiently reconstruct preamble signature from the noisy power delay profile. Simulation results validate the feasibility of the proposed method, and show that our method can achieve a notably improved detection performance under extremely low signal-to-noise ratio conditions, in comparison with the conventional one.

Abstract: Let [Formula: see text] be a Riemannian manifold with finite volume and [Formula: see text] be a linear topological space. We consider the strongly indefinite superlinear problem [Formula: see text] where [Formula: see text] is a self-adjoint linear operator, [Formula: see text] is a real Hilbert space with the compact embedding [Formula: see text] if [Formula: see text] for some [Formula: see text] , and [Formula: see text]. We obtain the existence of two solutions provided that [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] for a certain choice of [Formula: see text] , [Formula: see text]. Moreover, we prove that, if [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] small enough, there exist prescribed number of nontrivial solutions. As applications, the corresponding results hold true for nonautonomous Hamiltonian systems and Dirac equations on compact spin manifold.

Abstract: Link prediction of complex network intends to estimate the probability of existence of links between two nodes. In order to improve link prediction accuracy and fully exploit the potentialities of nodes, many studies focus more on the influence of degree on nodes but less on the hybrid influence of degree and H-index. The nodes with a larger degree have more neighbors, and the nodes with larger H-index have more neighbors of neighbors. Meanwhile, weak ties consisting of neighbors with a small degree have powerful strength of intermediary ability and a high probability of passing similarity. A novel link prediction model is proposed considering the hybrid influence of degree and H-index and weak ties, which is called Hybrid Weak Influence, marked as HWI. After experimenting with nine real datasets, the results show that this method can significantly improve the link prediction accuracy, compared with the empirical methods: Common Neighbors (CN), Resource-Allocation (RA) and Adamic/Adar (AA). Meanwhile, the computation complexity is less than the long path algorithm of LP, SRW, PCEN.

Abstract: Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution (TCMC) divides human beings into balanced (ping-he) constitution (PH) and unbalanced constitution. Yang-deficiency (yang-xu) constitution (YAX) is one of the most common unbalanced constitutions in Chinese general population, and it causes susceptibility to particular diseases. However, unbalanced constitutions can be regulated by Chinese medicine and lifestyle intervention in clinical practice. Gui-fu-di-huang-wan (GFDHW) is a well-known Chinese medicine with yang-invigorating activity and is regarded as improving YAX. In this study, 60 healthy YAX students selected from a prospective population of 5185 were enrolled in a randomized clinical trial and completed the study. We compared the gut microbiota and urinary metabolome between individuals with PH and those with YAX before and after one-month-intervention. Compared with the control group, the health status of the intervention group improved significantly, the YAX symptom score was reduced, and the efficacy remained high at the one-year follow-up. The gut microbiota of the healthy PH exhibited greater diversity, and significantly higher species were identified. Compared to PH group, YAX individuals showed increased abundance of Bacteroidetes and Bacteroides, also had higher levels of gut microbial-derived urinary metabolites. After one-month-intervention, both GFDHW treatment and lifestyle intervention enriched the diversity and modulated the structure in YAX. The intervention group also partially restored the microbiome and metabolome to healthy PH-like levels. Further, a microbiota co-occurrence network analysis showed that the metabolites enriched in YAX were correlated with microbial community structure. Taken together, our results suggest that Chinese medicine combined with lifestyle intervention benefits YAX individuals. Gut microbiota/metabolite crosstalk might be involved in the Chinese medicine-mediated effects.

Abstract: A ring with involution ∗ is called ∗-clean if each of its elements is the sum of a unit and a projection. It is obvious that ∗-clean rings are clean. Vaš asked whether there exists a clean ring with involution that is not ∗-clean. In this paper, we investigate when a group ring RG is ∗-clean, where ∗ is the classical involution on RG. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for RG to be ∗-clean, where R is a commutative local ring and G is one of the groups C 3 , C 4 , S 3 and Q 8 . As a consequence, we provide many examples of group rings which are clean but not ∗-clean.

Abstract: The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) was proposed by the Chinese particle physics scientists as a future Higgs factory and [Formula: see text] factory. It will produced more than [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text] bosons by operating at a center-of-mass energy around 91.2 GeV in two years. In this study, the measurement of the relative decay widths of [Formula: see text] bosons decaying to [Formula: see text] quarks [Formula: see text] , [Formula: see text] quarks [Formula: see text] and light quarks [Formula: see text] in hadronic [Formula: see text] decays are studied on CEPC Monte Carlo (MC) samples. By using a template method, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] can be fitted from reconstructed data as the fractions of MC templates with different flavors. The distribution of a sensitive variable, [Formula: see text] -tagging probability, is used as the template, because of its high performance in discriminating different flavors. Based on the expected statistics of [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text] bosons at CEPC, the statistical uncertainty is estimated to be approximately [Formula: see text] by using the template method, which means that the measurement will no longer be limited by the statistics. Systematic errors arise directly from the difference in the [Formula: see text] -tagging probability distribution between real data and template MC samples. By considering the bias of input variables used for [Formula: see text]-tagging probability computing, the quantitative effect for each kind of input variable is investigated by using an ensemble test procedure.

Abstract: A Ni–Fe–B–Si–Nb amorphous alloy was deposited on a steel substrate surface via a laser cladding process, and a laser cladding plus laser remelting process. The wear behavior of the laser processed samples and the bulk metallic glass (BMG) sample with the same nominal composition were tested using a pin-on-disc type testing machine. The nano-mechanical properties of the samples were measured with a nano-characterization system. The friction wear tests showed that deep grooves and wear debris were formed on the worn surface of the laser cladded coating, while only shallow grooves for the laser remelted coatings. The friction coefficients of laser remelted coatings and BMG were lower than the laser cladded coating. The wear mass losses of the laser remelted coating were less than the BMG when the laser remelting scanning speed was higher than 6 mm/min. The nano-hardness and elastic modulus of the remelted coating is higher than that of the laser cladded coating. Also, they increase with the increasing laser scanning speed with 1227.9 HV and 277.4 GPa when the remelting scanning speed is 8 m/min. Based on the nano-indentation and friction wear tests results, it was found that the friction wear properties of the laser cladded coating, laser remelted coatings and BMG related well to the ratio of H 3 /E 2 . A higher value of H 3 /E 2 can lead to a better wear resistance property.

Abstract: Considering pedestrian preferences for the minimum distance, the minimum number of queuing pedestrians and the shortest estimated time, three pedestrian choice strategies of ticket gate machine are proposed. Pedestrian choice strategies of ticket gate machine are added into pedestrian simulation model which is based on cellular automata, and pedestrian choice behavior simulation model of ticket gate machine is obtained. On the platform of MATLAB simulation software, pedestrian choice behavior is simulated. Simulation results indicate that choice strategies of ticket gate machine proposed in this paper describe pedestrian choice behavior well, and it needs to consider the ratio of bidirectional pedestrian generation rate in the process of setting ticket gate machines in the bidirectional passage.

Abstract: Traffic interruption is one of the important factors resulting in traffic jam. Therefore, a new optimal velocity model is established involving the traffic interruption probability for self-expected velocity. Linear stable condition and mKdV equation are deduced with regard to the self-interruption probability of the current optimal velocity from linear stable analysis and nonlinear analysis, respectively. Moreover, numerical simulation reveals that the traffic self-interruption probability of the current optimal velocity can increase traffic stability, which certifies that the traffic self-interruption probability of the current optimal velocity plays important influences on traffic system.
