Abstract: Background. Combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (CHC) is a rare and heterogeneous histological subtype of primary liver cancer, which is still poorly understood. This study aimed to describe the epidemiological and clinical features, investigate the prognostic indicators, and develop a competing risk nomogram for CHC. Methods. The study cohort was taken from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. The annual percent change (APC) in incidence was calculated using the joinpoint regression. The nomogram was developed based on multivariate competing risk survival analyses and validated by calibration curves. Akaike information criterion, Bayesian information criterion, Harrell’s C-index, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curves were obtained to compare prognostic performance. Decision curve analysis was introduced to examine the clinical value of the models. Results. The overall incidence of CHC was 0.062 per 100,000 individuals in 2004 and 0.081 per 100,000 individuals in 2018, with an APC of 1.0% ( P 〉 0.05 ). CHC displayed intermediate clinicopathological features of hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Race, tumor size, vascular invasion, extrahepatic invasion, distant metastasis, grade, surgery, and Metavir stage were confirmed as the independent predictors of cancer-specific survival. The constructed nomogram was well calibrated, which showed better discrimination power and higher net benefits than the current American Joint Committee on Cancer staging system. Patients with liver transplantation had better survival than those with hepatectomy, especially patients within the Milan Criteria ( P = 0.022 and P = 0.015 ). There was no survival difference between liver transplantation and hepatectomy in patients beyond the Milan Criteria ( P = 0.340 ). Conclusion. The morbidity of CHC remained stable between 2004 and 2018. The constructed nomogram could predict the prognosis with good performance, which was meaningful to individual treatment strategies optimization. CHC patients should also be considered as potential liver transplantation recipients, especially those within the Milan Criteria, but the finding still needs more evidence to be further confirmed.

Abstract: Plastic particles with a diameter of 5 mm or less are called microplastics. Microplastics are one of the primary sources of pollution in the environment. It has been proven that microplastics are also carriers of heavy metals, but there are few studies on their adsorption mechanism. In this study, the adsorption of Pb, Cu, Cd, and Zn by polypropylene (PP) microplastics was analyzed and discussed. The morphology of PP was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the surface elemental composition of PP was determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and the functional groups of PP were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The results showed that the adsorption behavior of microplastics to different heavy metals could be balanced in 32 hours. Kinetics experiments showed that the adsorption process could be fitted well by a two-stage dynamic model, and the adsorption of Pb and Cu by PP is greater than that of Cd and Zn. The Freundlich model has the best fitting effect on Pb for the adsorption isothermal results. The Langmuir model showed that the process is favorable for adsorption. The adsorption of mixed heavy metals by microplastics showed that when the concentration of the mixed adsorption mass was low, the presence of a coexistence system promoted the adsorption of Zn and Cu by microplastics. With an increasing concentration, the adsorption of 4 heavy metals by microplastics is inhibited.

In: Journal of Diabetes Research, Hindawi Limited, Vol. 2016 ( 2016), p. 1-7
Abstract: Serum cystatin C (CysC) has been identified as a possible potential biomarker in a variety of diabetic complications, including diabetic peripheral neuropathy and peripheral artery disease. We aimed to examine the association between CysC and diabetic foot ulceration (DFU) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). 411 patients with T2D were enrolled in this cross-sectional study at a university hospital. Clinical manifestations and biochemical parameters were compared between DFU group and non-DFU group. The association between serum CysC and DFU was explored by binary logistic regression analysis. The cut point of CysC for DFU was also evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. The prevalence of coronary artery disease, diabetic nephropathy (DN), and DFU dramatically increased with CysC ( P 〈 0.01 ) in CysC quartiles. Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that the significant risk factors for DFU were serum CysC, coronary artery disease, hypertension, insulin use, the differences between supine and sitting TcPO 2 , and hypertension. ROC curve analysis revealed that the cut point of CysC for DFU was 0.735 mg/L. Serum CysC levels correlated with DFU and severity of tissue loss. Our study results indicated that serum CysC was associated with a high prevalence of DFU in Chinese T2D subjects.

Abstract: Dialogue sentiment analysis is a hot topic in the field of artificial intelligence in recent years, in which the construction of multimodal corpus is the key part of dialogue sentiment analysis. With the rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT), it provides a new means to collect the multiparty dialogues to construct a multimodal corpus. The rapid development of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) provides a new platform for the construction of multimodal corpus. In this paper, we construct a multimodal corpus on MEC servers to make full use of the storage space distributed at the edge of the network according to the procedure of constructing a multimodal corpus that we propose. At the same time, we build a deep learning model (sentiment analysis model) and use the constructed corpus to train the deep learning model for sentiment on MEC servers to make full use of the computing power distributed at the edge of the network. We carry out experiments based on real-world dataset collected by IoT devices, and the results validate the effectiveness of our sentiment analysis model.

Abstract: Exosomes are bilipid layer-enclosed vesicles derived from endosomes and are released from neural cells. They contain a diversity of proteins, mRNAs, and microRNAs (miRNAs) that are delivered to neighboring cells and/or are transported to distant sites. miRNAs released from exosomes appear to be associated with multiple neurodegenerative conditions linking to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) which is marked by hyperphosphorylated tau proteins and accumulation of A β plaques. Exciting findings reveal that miRNAs released from exosomes modulate the expression and function of amyloid precursor proteins (APP) and tau proteins. These open up the possibility that dysfunctional exosomal miRNAs may influence AD progression. In addition, it has been confirmed that the interaction between miRNAs released by exosomes and Toll-like receptors (TLR) initiates inflammation. In exosome support-deprived neurons, exosomal miRNAs may regulate neuroplasticity to relieve neurological damage. In this review, we summarize the literature on the function of exosomal miRNAs in AD pathology, the potential of these miRNAs as diagnostic biomarkers in AD, and the use of exosomes in the delivery of miRNAs which may lead to major advances in the field of macromolecular drug delivery.

Abstract: Urban Internet of Things (IoT) plays an extremely important role in our daily life by deploying smart cities and urban brains. Orthogonal multiple access (OMA) technology has been a commonly used communication method in recent years, but nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) attracts the attention of many researchers due to its superiority of successive interference cancellation (SIC) technology. We consider adding the base station (BS) and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to perform collaborative data offloading services with urban IoT devices and introduce the NOMA technology to improve offloading efficiency. In order to solve the data unloading problem in this model cost-effectively, we formulate the model as a game model based on noncooperative competition and propose the iterative game-based data offloading algorithm (GDOA) to obtain the Nash equilibrium (NE) solution. Finally, we use the simulation data to conduct parametric analysis experiments and comparison experiments on GDOA to evaluate its real performance.

Abstract: The era of digital economy has spawned new factors of production represented by big data. Data-driven sustainable growth and innovative development is the main line of enterprise digital transformation. In view of the uncertainty of supply chain demand, the optimization of supply chain management under the influence of carbon tax policy is studied from the low-carbon perspective. By introducing the fuzzy theory and a membership function to describe the need for uncertainty, a supply chain optimization model considering the influence of carbon emissions is constructed. Carbon tax policy is regarded as the constraint condition of external production. In the case of fuzzy cost changes, the optimization decision of enterprise supply chain management under carbon tax policy is explored. A trapezoidal fuzzy number is used to determine model fuzziness, and the trapezoidal fuzzy number combined with a genetic algorithm is used to solve the model. Furthermore, taking a certain enterprise as an example, the validity of the model is verified by the mathematical programming model method, considering the data driven and taking the data as the means of production.

Abstract: Periodontitis is a globally prevalent disease that imposes a functional and aesthetic burden on patients. The oral microbiome influences human health. The aim of this study was at assessing gender variation in the subgingival bacterial microbiome of elderly patients with initial periodontitis and to determine the causes of this variation. Twelve males and twenty females (range 50–68 years old) with initial periodontitis provided subgingival plaque samples. 16S rRNA gene sequencing, QIIME-based data processing, and statistical analyses were carried out using several different analytical approaches to detect differences in the oral microbiome between the two groups. Males had higher Chao1 index, observed species, and phylogenetic diversity whole tree values than females. Analysis of β-diversity indicated that the samples were reasonably divided by the gender. The linear discriminant analysis effect size showed that the most representative biomarkers were the genus Haemophilus in males, whereas the dominant bacteria in females were Campylobacter. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analysis showed that predicting changes in the female oral microbiota may be related to the immune system and immune system diseases are the main factor in males. These data suggest that gender may be a differentiating factor in the microbial composition of subgingival plaques in elderly patients with initial periodontitis. These results could deepen our understanding of the role of gender in the oral microbiota present during initial periodontitis.

Abstract: The study focused on the preventive effects of the chain management model on pressure ulcers in the operating room. Sqoop big data collection module is used to collect patient information from various hospital information systems in a distributed manner. The data were from the clinical data center of the Zhongshan Hospital Xiamen University General Hospital, and 268 patients were selected as the research subjects. A chain management model is constructed, concerning the preventive measures, the management of each link, the perioperative pressure ulcer management, and the reporting of pressure ulcers. Then, the two groups were compared for the SAS and SDS scores before and after nursing, the pressure ulcer sites, pressure ulcer reporting rate, pressure ulcer staging, and nursing satisfaction. The results show that it is not that more collection modules will lead to better cluster performance and that the execution delay is caused by MapReduce requiring the JAVA virtual machine, and after reaching a certain point, the increase in the number of tasks will slow down the process, and as data size increases, DataNote has an expanded capability to analyze data. After nursing treatment, the SAS and SDS scores of the two groups of patients were significantly lower than before treatment ( P 〈 0.05 ). The pressure ulcers were mainly distributed in the forehead, mandible, cheeks, front chest, and knees in the two groups, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant ( P 〈 0.05 ). The total satisfaction of the observation group was 93.28%, and the total satisfaction of the control group was 92.54%. The patients’ satisfaction with the chain management model was higher than that of conventional nursing.

Abstract: The ability to obtain accurate torque information and detect collision information is the key demand for collaborative robots. Given the highly integrated modular joint, the joint torque-sensing system is disturbed by other elements during online measurement, affecting the accuracy of measurement. For example, the torque ripple caused by the periodic deformation of the flexspline of the harmonic driver and the temperature drift due to the heating of motor are the two main factors affecting the measurement of the torque sensor. In this study, a torque sensor suitable for a modular joint is developed. Moreover, a strain gauge configuration based on a specified phase difference for torque ripple cancelation and a temperature compensation method based on the combination of the Wheatstone bridge and a nonlinear model are proposed. Finally, the performance of the developed sensor is experimentally evaluated.
