Abstract: Class imbalance situations, where one class is rare compared to the other, arise frequently in machine learning applications. It is well known that the usual misclassification error is not suitable in such settings. A wide range of performance measures such as AM and QM have been proposed for this problem. However, due to computational difficulties, few learning techniques have been developed to directly optimize for AM or QM metric. To fill the gap, in this paper, we present a general structural SVM framework for directly optimizing AM and QM. We define the loss functions oriented to AM and QM, respectively, and adopt the cutting plane algorithm to solve the outer optimization. For the inner problem of finding the most violated constraint, we propose two efficient algorithms for the AM and QM problem. Empirical studies on the various imbalanced datasets justify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract: Background. Atrial fibrillation (AF) is one of the most common arrhythmias in clinical practice. Although fat is currently considered to be a risk factor for AF and a pathogenic link between epicardial fat tissue (EFT) and AF has been speculated, there are currently few clinical studies and literature data domestically or abroad. Objective. This study conducted a meta-analysis of observational case series studies to verify the relationship between atrial fibrillation and EFT and to strengthen the predictive value of EFT in the occurrence, development, and postablative recurrence of AF. Methods. We conducted a systematic search of the literature in electronic databases until December 2021 and supplemented this through manual searches of individual studies, reviewed articles, and reference lists in conference proceedings. This study conducted a meta-analysis to compare the differences between different populations, such as healthy participants and AF patients, healthy subjects and AF subtype cases, and paroxysmal and persistent AF with AF recurrence and without AF recurrence after ablation. Results. Following the retrieval of 828 articles, only 22 articles were selected as research results. Accordingly, the meta-analysis results show that the volume of EFT in AF is greater than that in healthy subjects (MD = 39.34 ml, 95% CI = 27.11, 51.58); persistent AF is greater than paroxysmal AF (MD = 14.37 ml, 95% CI = 7.46, 21.27); and recurrence after ablation is greater than without recurrence (MD = 14.37 ml, 95% CI = 7.46, 21.27). Conclusion. The results of this study further confirm the connection between EFT and AF and that EFT has a certain predictive value for the occurrence and development of AF.

Abstract: Left and right inverse eigenpairs problem for κ -hermitian matrices and its optimal approximate problem are considered. Based on the special properties of κ -hermitian matrices, the equivalent problem is obtained. Combining a new inner product of matrices, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the solvability of the problem and its general solutions are derived. Furthermore, the optimal approximate solution and a calculation procedure to obtain the optimal approximate solution are provided.

Abstract: Objective. To explore the effect of calcitriol combined with zoledronic acid in posterior cruciate ligament tibial avulsion fractures of the knee joint in patients with diabetic osteoporosis. Methods. Between January 2020 and January 2022, 60 patients with diabetic osteoporosis treated in our hospital were included. All patients underwent knee joint posterior cruciate ligament tibial avulsion fractures, and they were randomized (1 : 1) into the observation group (calcitriol combined with zoledronic acid) and control group (calcitriol). The two groups were compared with respect to the improvement of bone mineral density and bone metabolism indexes, the pain degree (VAS) and knee joint function (Lysholm), and the incidence of refracture. Results. Both groups showed an increasing bone mineral density after treatment, and significant increase was observed in the observation group vs. control group (all p 〈 0.05 ). After treatment, VAS scores decreased in the two groups, and Lysholm scores increased compared to the corresponding values before treatment (all p 〈 0.05 ), with more notable changes in the observation group versus control group (all p 〈 0.05 ). The observation group had fewer cases of refractures than the control group (2 cases vs. 8 cases) ( p 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion. Calcitriol combined with zoledronic acid used in patients with diabetic osteoporosis after the posterior cruciate ligament tibial attachment avulsion fracture of the knee joint yields a promising result in enhancing bone mineral density and bone metabolism indicators, relieving pain, improving knee joint function, and reducing the risk of refracture.

Abstract: Background. WNK lysine deficient protein kinase 1 (WNK1) has been shown to be highly expressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) samples and related to poor prognosis of HCC patients based on bioinformatics analysis. However, the specific function of WNK1 in HCC has not been analyzed. This study is aimed at exploring the function of WNK1 in HCC progression as well as its related molecular mechanism. Methods. After knockdown of WNK1 by small interference RNA, cell counting kit-8, colony formation, western blot, Transwell, and wound healing assays were employed to evaluate the biological behaviors of HCC cells. Immunofluorescent staining was applied to detect the effect of WNK1 on LC3 II. GSK690693 or si-AMPK was applied to block AMPK pathway. The expression of autophagy and AMPK pathway related molecules was examined by western blot assay. Results. WNK1 was highly expressed in HCC cell lines and loss of WNK1 inhibited HCC cell proliferation, cell cycle, migration, and invasion. Additionally, we demonstrated that loss of WNK1 promoted the autophagy and activated AMPK pathway in HCC cells. While, GSK690693 treatment or si-AMPK transfection suppressed the autophagy and promoted HCC cells proliferation. However, WNK1 knockdown counteracted the effect of GSK690693 or si-AMPK in regulating HCC cell proliferation. Finally, we demonstrated that WNK1 regulated the malignant behaviors of HCC cells by modulating autophagy and AMPK pathway. Conclusions. The above results indicated that WNK1 may be a worthwhile target to be considered for therapy of HCC.

Abstract: KBQA is a task that requires to answer questions by using semantic structured information in knowledge base. Previous work in this area has been restricted due to the lack of large semantic parsing dataset and the exponential growth of searching space with the increasing hops of relation paths. In this paper, we propose an efficient pipeline method equipped with a pretrained language model. By adopting beam search algorithm, the searching space will not be restricted in subgraph of 3 hops. Besides, we propose a data generation strategy, which enables our model to generalize well from few training samples. We evaluate our model on an open-domain complex Chinese question answering task CCKS2019 and achieve F1-score of 62.55% on the test dataset. In addition, in order to test the few-shot learning capability of our model, we randomly select 10% of the primary data to train our model, and the result shows that our model can still achieves F1-score of 58.54%, which verifies the capability of our model to process KBQA task and the advantage in few-shot learning.

Abstract: Objectives. Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor among females, and miRNAs have been reported to play an important regulatory role in breast cancer progression. This study aimed to explore the function and underlying molecular mechanism of miR-301b-3p in breast cancer. Methods. Differential analysis and survival analysis were performed based on the data accessed from the TCGA-BRCA dataset for identification of the target miRNA. Bioinformatics analysis was conducted to predict the downstream target gene of the miRNA. Real-time quantitative PCR was carried out to detect the expression of miR-301b-3p and nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 2 (NR3C2). Western blot was used to assess the protein expression of NR3C2. Cell counting kit-8 assay was performed to evaluate the proliferation of breast cancer cells. Transwell assay was conducted to determine the migratory and invasive abilities of breast cancer cells. Dual-luciferase reporter assay was employed to verify the targeting relationship between miR-301b-3p and NR3C2. Results. miR-301b-3p was elevated in breast cancer cell lines and promoted cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in terms of its biological function in breast cancer. NR3C2 was validated as a direct target of miR-301b-3p via bioinformatics analysis and dual-luciferase reporter assay, and NR3C2 was downregulated in breast cancer cell lines. The rescue experiment indicated that NR3C2 was involved in the mechanism by which miR-301b-3p regulated the malignant phenotype of breast cancer cells. Conclusion. The present study revealed for the first time that miR-301b-3p could foster breast cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by targeting NR3C2, unveiling that miR-301b-3p is a novel carcinogen in breast cancer.
