Abstract:
Our findings add evidence to cognitive processing associated with left‐handed approaching–avoiding behavior. Automatic action tendencies occurred during a task using the non‐dominant left hand, with no significant modulation found in the contralateral (right) primary motor cortex (M1). However, ipsilateral (left) M1 excitability was higher for regulated behavior than for automatic behavior, indicating that left M1 plays a dominant role in mediating left‐handed movement.
