Abstract:
A general method for anchoring transition metal complexes on solid supports is described. In the example shown on the right sol‐gel processing of a trimethoxysilyl‐functionalized rhodium(I) complex gives an efficient rhodium hydrogenation catalyst. To improve the activity of this type of system, the polysiloxane matrix can be modified by co‐condensation with various amounts of MeSi(OMe) 2 (CH 2 ) 6 (MeO) 2 SiMe. The resulting complexes activate a variety of small molecules. magnified image
