Abstract: The wide application of superhydrophobic materials is mainly hindered by the poor mechanical robustness and complicated preparation method. To overcome these problems, we tried to make a combination of hierarchical and self-similar structure by the means of a simple spraying method. By adding nanofiller (carbon nanotube) and microfiller (graphite powder and expanded graphite), the hierarchical structure was constructed. By further doping the fillers in the commercial asphalt uniformly, the self-similar structure was prepared. Based on the aforementioned work, the as-prepared sample could withstand the sandpaper abrasion for 12.00 m under 4.90 kPa. Moreover, this superhydrophobic coating demonstrated good conductivity, superior self-cleaning property, and excellent corrosion resistance. The integration of conductivity with the superhydrophobicity might open new avenues for ground grid applications.

Abstract: Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction (XFZY) is an ancient compound widely used in the treatment of coronary heart disease. However, its efficacy evaluation is not complete and its mechanism of action is not clear enough. In an attempt to address these problems, the efficacy was evaluated by meta-analysis and the mechanism was elucidated by the network pharmacology method. We systematically searched relevant studies in PubMed, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI), Cochrane Library, Wanfang Data, and other databases from 2007 to 2019. The association between XFZY treatment and CHD was estimated by risk ratio (RR) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs). The compounds and the potential protein targets of XFZY were obtained from TCMSP, and active compounds were selected according to their oral bioavailability and drug similarity. The potential genes of coronary heart disease were obtained from TTD, OMIM, and GeneCards. The potential pathways related to genes were determined by GO and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses. The compound-target and compound-target-pathway networks were constructed. Molecular docking validates the component and the target. A total of 21 studies including 1844 patients were enrolled in the present meta-analysis, indicating that XFZY has a greater beneficial on total effect (fixed effect RR = 1.30; 95% Cl: 1.24–1.36; P = 0.82 ; I2 = 0.0%) and electrocardiogram efficacy (fixed effect RR = 1.40; 95% Cl: 1.26–1.56; P = 0.96 ; I2 = 0.0%) compared with the control group. A total of 1342 components in XFZY were obtained, among which, 241 were chosen as bioactive components. GO and KEGG analyses got top 10 significantly enriched terms and 10 enriched pathways. The C-T network included 192 compounds and 3085 targets, whereas the C-T-P network included 10 compounds, 109 targets, and 5 pathways. There was a good binding activity between the components and the targets. XFZY has the curative effect on coronary heart disease, and its mechanism is related to 10 compounds, 10 core targets, and 5 pathways.

Abstract: Background and ObjectivesLaparoscopic single-incision triangulated umbilical surgery (SITUS), which enables the extraction of intraabdominal specimens through a single umbilical incision, has yet to be used to perform adrenalectomy. We have modified SITUS to enable extraction of large ( 〉 5 cm) adrenal masses with optimal cosmetic outcomes and investigated efficacy and safety. Methods. In this retrospective study, we analyzed data of 16 patients with adrenal tumors 〉 5 cm who had undergone adrenalectomy by SITUS between October 2015 and April 2018. Two C-shaped incisions were made around the umbilicus and sutured centripetally. After extracting the specimen, we evaluated these patients’ operative/postoperative data. Results. SITUS was performed in all 16 patients without conversion to laparoscopic or open surgery. The mean operation time was 75.31 ± 21.54 min (intraperitoneal time 41.94 ± 17.57 min; incision suturing time 33.38 ± 6.34 min). The estimated median blood loss was 57.5 mL (range 30–610 mL). Drainage time and duration of hospital stay were 55.69 ± 12.92 h and 3.94 ± 0.90 d, respectively. After surgery, all incisions were hidden under the umbilicus. Three patients developed keloid diathesis, resulting in enlargement of their scars. Conclusions. SITUS is a safe and feasible procedure for removing large adrenal tumors. In addition to its cosmetic advantages, SITUS facilitates functional recovery, particularly in patients with large adrenal tumors.

Abstract: Objective. To explore the molecular network mechanism of modified Taohong Siwu Decoction (MTHSWD) to interfere with premature ovarian failure based on systematic pharmacological strategy. Methods. The network pharmacology strategy was used to explore the potential mechanism of MTHSWD intervention in POF, and then it was verified through animal experiments. Mouse zona pellucida 3 was used as an antigen to subcutaneously immunize BALB/c female mice to establish an immune POF model. Mice were divided into MTHSWD low-, medium-, and high-dose groups, positive control group, model group, and normal group. After 30 days of drug intervention, ovarian tissue was taken for pathological hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, and immunohistochemical methods were used to detect the expression of TGF-β1 and TGF-βRII and Smad2/3 protein expression in follicular wall granular cells and ovarian tissue, respectively. Results. Network pharmacology studies have shown that MTHSWD may interfere with the TGF-β signaling pathway. Animal experimental research shows that, compared with the model group, the number of ovarian mature follicles in the MTHSWD groups and the positive group was significantly increased, and the number of atresia follicles decreased. Immunohistochemistry showed that, compared with the control group, the expression of TGF-β1, TGF-βRII, and Smad2/3 in the follicular wall granulosa cells and ovarian tissues of MTHSWD groups was significantly higher than that of the model group ( P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion. MTHSWD may improve the ovarian function of POF mice by upregulating the protein expression of granulosa cells TGF-β1, TGF-βRII, and Smad2/3.

Abstract: As emerging tick born rickettsial diseases caused by A. phagocytophilum and E. chaffeensis , anaplasmosis and ehrlichiosis have become a serious threat to human and animal health throughout the world. In particular, in China, an unusual transmission of nosocomial cases of human granulocytic anaplasmosis occurred in Anhui Province in 2006 and more recent coinfection case of A. phagocytophilum and E. chaffeensis was documented in Shandong Province. Although the seroprevalence of human granulocytic anaplasmosis (former human granulocytic ehrlichiosis, HGE) has been documented in several studies, these data existed on local investigations, and also little data was reported on the seroprevalence of human monocytic ehrlichiosis (HME) in China. In this cross-sectional epidemiological study, indirect immunofluorescence antibody assay (IFA) proposed by WHO was used to detect A. phagocytophilum and E. chaffeensis IgG antibodies for 7,322 serum samples from agrarian residents from 9 provinces/cities and 819 urban residents from 2 provinces. Our data showed that farmers were at substantially increased risk of exposure. However, even among urban residents, risk was considerable. Seroprevalence of HGA and HME occurred in diverse regions of the country and tended to be the highest in young adults. Many species of ticks were confirmed carrying A. phagocytophilum organisms in China while several kinds of domestic animals including dog, goats, sheep, cattle, horse, wild rabbit, and some small wild rodents were proposed to be the reservoir hosts of A. phagocytophilum . The broad distribution of vector and hosts of the A. phagocytophilum and E. chaffeensis , especially the relationship between the generalized susceptibility of vectors and reservoirs and the severity of the disease’s clinical manifestations and the genetic variation of Chinese HGA isolates in China, is urgently needed to be further investigated.

Abstract: Pulsed jet significantly affects the pore pressure of deep formation and then affects the mechanical ROP. In this paper, the effect of jet pulsation on deep pore pressure in the formation is studied by the finite element method. Under the pulsed jet, the maximum relative negative pressure is along the wellbore axis, and the farther it is to the borehole axis, the smaller the relative negative pressure is. With the increase of pulse frequency, the relative negative pressure increases and the maximum point of relative negative pressure moves upward. The optimum pulse frequency is from 50 Hz to 500 Hz. There is a linear relationship between pulse amplitude and relative negative pressure.

Abstract: Background. AKI is known to be associated with inflammation and nutritional status. The novel inflammatory prognostic score CAR (CRP/albumin ratio), which combines inflammation and nutritional status, was hypothesized to be associated with mortality in critically ill AKI patients in this study. Methods. The included cases were patients admitted to the ICU of Shandong Provincial Hospital from January 2016 to November 2018 and diagnosed with AKI within 48 hours of ICU admission. From the electronic case database of Shandong Provincial Hospital, we extracted the baseline demographic information, vital signs, routine laboratory parameters, complications, and other data. The above records are measured within 48 hours of admission to ICU. The clinical endpoint was the total cause mortality rate in hospital and 2 years. We constructed two multivariate regression models to determine the statistically significant correlation between CAR and mortality and conducted subgroup analysis to determine the mortality among different subgroups. Results. A total of 580 patients were included in this study. In multivariate regression analysis, higher CAR was associated with an increase in hospital and two-year all-cause mortality in critically ill patients with AKI after adjusting gender, age, respiratory frequency, temperature, and other confounding factors (tertile 3 versus tertile 1: OR, 95% CI: 2.97, 1.70-5.17; 3.03, 1.68-5.47, respectively; P 〈 0.001 ). Subgroup analysis showed that the CAR level in each subgroup increases with hospital mortality in critically ill patients with AKI. Conclusion. The increase of CAR in critically ill patients with AKI was associated with an increased risk of all-cause death.

Abstract: Response surface methodology was used to optimize the preparation conditions of soy-based adhesives (SBAs) in this work. The parameters such as the effects and interactions of waterborne polyurethane (WPU) addition level ( X 1 ), temperature ( X 2 ), and time ( X 3 ) on wet shear strength ( Y ) were investigated. The regression model for SBA preparation was significant ( p = 0.0034 〈 0.05 ). The coefficient of determination ( R 2 ) of this model was to be 0.9256. According to the results, WPU addition level ( X 1 ) had a significant influence on the wet shear strength, whereas reaction temperature ( X 2 ) and reaction time ( X 3 ) were not significant. The optimal preparation conditions of SBA were 12 wt.% WPU addition level for 101 min at 76°C. Under the optimal conditions, the wet shear strength was 1.07 ± 0.08 MPa, which was in good agreement with the model predicted value. An analysis of FTIR spectra of WPU, soy flour, and soy-based adhesive further confirmed the validity of the model.

Abstract: The optimization of manufacturing conditions for reed straw-based particleboard by soy-based adhesive was performed through response surface methodology. The interactions of various conditions, including adhesive amount, hot-pressing temperature, and hot-pressing time on wet internal bonding strength were investigated. A 3-level-3-factor Box–Behnken design was used to test the optimal preparation conditions of reed straw particleboard. The polynomial regression model for manufacturing conditions had a very significant level ( p 〈 0.01 ). In addition, the determination coefficient (R2) and the adjust determination coefficient ( R 2 ) of this model were found to be 0.969 and 0.9292, respectively. The conditions optimized by the model were 25% of adhesive amount, 138°C of hot-pressing temperature, and 27 min of hot-pressing time. Under the optimal conditions, validation tests were performed, and the average value of parallel experiments was 0.17 ± 0.02 MPa. Moreover, the thickness swelling of water absorption after soaking and mechanical properties (MOE and MOR) of samples prepared under optimized conditions were further measured, which all met the requirement of Type P6 particleboard. It could provide an efficient method for massive production of reed straw particleboard.

Abstract: Thermal conductivity is a critical parameter playing an important role in the heat transfer process in thermal engineering and enormous other engineering fields. Thus, the accurate acquisition of thermal conductivity has significant meaning for thermal engineering. However, compared to density test, moisture content test, and other physical property tests, the thermal conductivity is hard and expensive to acquire. Apparently, it has great meaning to accurately predict conductivity around a site through easily accessible parameters. In this paper, 40 samples are taken from 37 experimental points in Changchun, China, and the BPNN optimized by genetic algorithm (GA-BPNN) is used to evaluate the thermal conductivity by moisture content, porosity, and natural density of undisturbed soil. The result is compared by two widely used empirical methods and BPNN method and shows that the GA-BPNN has better prediction ability for soil thermal conductivity. The impact weight is obtained through mean impact value (MIV), where the natural density, moisture content, and porosity are 30.98%, 55.57%, and 13.45%, respectively. Due to high complexity of different parameter on thermal conductivity, some remolded soil specimens are taken to study the influence of individual factors on thermal conductivity. The correlations between moisture content and porosity with thermal conductivity are studied through control variable method. The result demonstrates that the impact weight of moisture content and porosity can be explained by remolded soil experiment to some extent.
