Abstract: Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a mental disorder that develops in people who have experienced or witnessed a serious traumatic event, such as natural catastrophes, sexual assaults, war… Some studies showed that acupuncture was effective for PTSD. However, there is no published research on the treatment of PTSD using acupuncture and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Vietnam. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of treating PTSD using acupuncture combined with CBT in Thua Thien Hue province. Method and subject: This study was an interventional study conducted in two districts of Thua Thien Hue province. Thirty patients were diagnosed with PTSD using Clinician-Administered PTSD Scale for DSM-5 (CAPS-5). Participants were assessed on PTSD symptoms using PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL–5); depression, anxiety and stress status using DASS-21; and other health states before and after treatment. Result: The effectiveness rate of treatment was 83.3% by PCL–5 and 86.7% by DASS-21. The improvement of symptoms after 5 weeks of treatment was statistically significant (p 〈 0.05). Side effects were itch (5.0%), pain (4.3%); bleeding (1.3%); and others (0%). Conclusion: Treatment of PTSD using acupuncture and CBT has a high effectiveness rate on PCL - 5 scale and DASS21 scale. Improvement was similar when evaluated by the two scales. Acupuncture was safe and did not cause any significant side effects. Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of the gender diversity of top management teams (TMTs) on the financial performance (FP) of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. This paper also examines the moderating effect of family control on this relationship. Design/methodology/approach Using a sample of SMEs in Vietnam, this paper uses descriptive statistics and balance panel regression with random effect to analyse 5,160 firm-year observations of family- and non-family-owned SMEs between 2011 and 2015. Findings The findings demonstrate that gender diversity in TMTs shows a negative relationship with the FP of family-controlled SMEs and no significant impact on FP of non-family SMEs. This study also illustrates a positive curvilinear relationship between the female manager rate in TMTs and firms’ FP in family SMEs. Research limitations/implications This research study is limited to data from Vietnamese SMEs. Future studies could investigate these relationships with larger firms and in a broader geographical context. Originality/value This study provides a better understanding of the impact of TMT gender diversity on FP in Vietnamese SMEs while considering the moderating effect of family control. The findings support some theories relating to managerial gender diversity and the effect of family control on this diversity in family SMEs.

Abstract: Background: Peripheral facial nerve palsy is a relatively common disease in clinical practice, the major cause is cold which corresponding to Wind Cold clinical forms according to traditional medicine. The disease is divided into 4 stages, however the level of response to treatment in the later stages is often lower than in the acute phase. This study used acupuncture that were recommended combine with traditional medicine to treat this desease in subacute and recovering stage to bring about effective treatment as well as to return to normal face soon and it does not affect the patient’s quality life and aesthetics. Objectives: Evaluate the effect of treatment and quality of life of peripheral facial nerve palsy Wind-Cold clinical forms in subacute and recovering stage by electroacupunture combined with traditional medicine. Materials and method: Intervention studies, comparisons before and after treatment in 30 patients with definite diagnosis ofperipheral facial nerve palsy Wind-Cold clinical forms in subacute and recovering stage, from January to December 2018 in Thua Thien Hue Traditional Medicine Hospital. Result: The rate of complete recovery after treatment accounted for 6.7% (grade I). There are 10 cases of normal recovery of facial muscles function (normal 75-100%), accounting for 33.3%. About quality of life, after treatment, the score increased significantly, the difference was statistically significant (p 〈 0.05). Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of electroacupunturecombined with traditional medicine for disease peripheral facial nerve palsy Wind-Cold clinical forms in subacute and recovering stage is not high. Quality of life after treatment has improved better. Key words: Peripheral facial nerve palsy, Wind Cold, subacute stage, recovering stage, electroacupunture, traditional medicine

Abstract: Critically ill patients are characterized by substantial pathophysiological changes that alter the pharmacokinetics (PK) of hydrophilic antibiotics, including carbapenems. Meropenem is a key antibiotic for multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacilli, and such pathophysiological alterations can worsen treatment outcomes. This study aimed to determine the population PK of meropenem and to propose optimized dosing regimens for the treatment of multidrug-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae in critically ill patients. Two plasma samples were collected from eligible patients over a dosing interval. Nonparametric population PK modeling was performed using Pmetrics. Monte Carlo simulations were applied to different dosing regimens to determine the probability of target attainment and the cumulative fraction of response, taking into account the local MIC distribution for K. pneumoniae . The targets of 40% and 100% for the fraction of time that free drug concentrations remained above the MIC (ƒT 〉 MIC) were tested, as suggested for critically ill patients. A one-compartment PK model using data from 27 patients showed high interindividual variability. Significant PK covariates were the 8-h creatinine clearance for meropenem and the presence of an indwelling catheter for pleural, abdominal, or cerebrospinal fluid drainage for the meropenem volume of distribution. The target 100% ƒT 〉 MIC for K. pneumoniae , with a MIC of ≤2 mg/liter, could be attained by the use of a continuous infusion of 2.0 g/day. Meropenem therapy in critically ill patients could be optimized for K. pneumoniae isolates with an MIC of ≤2 mg/liter by using a continuous infusion in settings with more than 50% isolates have a MIC of ≥32mg/L.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors affecting Vietnamese consumers' intention and behavior towards “bringing your own shopping bags” (BYOB) instead of using plastic bags based on the theory of interpersonal behavior (TIB). Design/methodology/approach We used a combination of in-depth interview and large-scale survey methods with the official research sample of 536 Vietnamese consumers to explore the relationship among factors in the research model including: attitude, affect, social factor, facilitating conditions, intention and behavior towards BYOB instead of using plastic bags. The collected data went through quantitative analysis steps including Cronbach's Alpha reliability test, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) for scales and hypotheses testing. Findings The results show that intention towards BYOB has a positive effect on consumers' behavior towards BYOB. Facilitating conditions have a stronger and more positive influence than attitude and affect intention towards BYOB. Meanwhile, the hypothesis about the relationship between social factors and intention towards BYOB was rejected by this study. Research limitations/implications The main limitation of this paper is that the findings of the present study are limited to elements of the TIB. Practical implications Based on the results of the study, we made some suggestions for state management agencies and retailers to promote intention and behavior towards BYOB instead of using plastic bags. Originality/value This study applies the TIB to understand the relationship between factors such as attitude, affect, social factors and facilitating conditions on intention and behavior towards BYOB instead of using plastic bags.

Abstract: Analysing the nexus between board diversity, CEO power, state holding, and corporate social responsibility disclosure in an emerging country: Vietnam, where some listed firms are held significantly by the State, is the fundamental objective of this study. In order to achieve this goal, we employed regression analysis using panel data. While board diversity consists of board gender diversification and board independence and CEO (executive) power, consisting of executive duality, executive holding (ownership), and deputy CEO, and state ownership are explanatory variables, and CSR disclosure is a dependent variable. The sample contains of 166 Vietnamese listed firms at the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) for 2014−2016. After performing regression analysis, the result revealed that the proportion of female directors, deputy CEO, and state holding had a significant correlation with CSR publication. In contrast, the proportion of independent directors, CEO duality, and CEO ownership was found to be insignificant. Our research adds to the research on firm governance and CSR in several approaches. First, the paper adds to the study on the advancement of research toward corporate social responsibility and firm governance and CEO features impress on it. Second, our research expands CSR literature in developing countries, which has not been treated in detail. Fourth, this research advances and adds literature to some theories, including agency theory and resource-based view theory.

Abstract: This article aims to draw a conceptual model that integrates the view from the entrepreneurial event model with entrepreneurial education and prior self-employment experience. The model tests the role of entrepreneurial education on the formation of intentions to become an entrepreneur and examines whether prior self-employed experiences moderate the route from entrepreneurial education, entrepreneurial perceived feasibility (PF) and perceived desirability (PD) into the entrepreneurial intention (EI). Design/methodology/approach The authors operated on a sample of 389 master's students by applying Cronbach's alpha, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling to illustrate the links between constructs. Findings The study found that entrepreneurial education is positively correlated with PF, PD, and intention to enter entrepreneurial activities. PD is determined as a partial mediator in the entrepreneurial education–intention link and full mediator in PF and EI. Moreover, the study revealed that prior self-employed experiences serve as a positive moderator in the path from entrepreneurial education and PD to EI. Practical implications The study offers several recommendations based on research findings so as to nurture and promote entrepreneurial activities among master's students. Originality/value The current research provides novel insights about the relationship between entrepreneurial education and intentions to become an entrepreneur over and about the central antecedents in the entrepreneurial event model and moderation effects of prior self-employed experiences.
