Abstract: The friction and wear behavior of Si 3 N 4 , SiC and ZrO 2 sliding against M50 bearing steel under vacuum condition at various applied load were investigated. The results showed that the properties of different ceramic materials cause the difference in wear behaviors. The coefficient of friction was lowest in SiC and M50 bearing steel couple than other cases for graphitic carbon replaced carbidic carbon at the worn layer of SiC. The specific wear rate of ZrO 2 was highest and the lowest was Si 3 N 4 . The ceramic ball materials have transferred on M50 bearing steel surfaces and tribofilm consistently formed on the ceramic balls wearing surfaces. Dominant wear behaviors for three structural ceramics were adhesion abrasion, plastic deformation and brittle fracture. The couple with Si 3 N 4 and M50 showed the best operating conditions for friction and wear resistance under higher applied load.

Abstract: after reasonably analyzing characteristics of flexible fiber reinforcement fragile material, the mechanical model of individual fiber is established while being pulled out from asphalt; the spherical coordinates is adopted to establish the calculation model for short fiber bridging stress evenly distributed in space to calculate the value of bridging stress generated by short fibers while asphalt is breaking; the fiber asphalt sample in big size is adopted to perform low temperature tensile failure test to practically measure bridging stress of short fiber; fit the calculated value and measured value of bridging stress by adjusting parameters in the calculation model to check the rationality of fiber bridging stress in calculation method and model.

Abstract: In order to realize the dual-wave length lasing based on stimulated Raman scattering principle, the dual-wavelength single-mode optical fiber Raman laser is established. Firstly, 80m long G652b single-model quartz fiber is pumped by Nd3+:YAG solid pulse laser, and its output spectra when without grating which are measured and studied. Then, a linear external-cavity fiber laser is designed with fiber Bragg grating as mirrors to gain 1062nm and 1066.5nm laser output. To change pump energy (65.2uJ~100.4uJ), the mean-variances of energy percentages are all about 7.58%,and dual-wavelength energy ratio is close to 1:1. Pump pulse widths are close to 32.14ns. Finally, the main parameters of laser are analyzed too. The dual-wavelength single-mode optical fiber Raman laser can be applied to Raman amplifier filed.

Abstract: Strong earthquakes ( 〉 7.0 Ms) critically change pedosphere, how the changed soils disturb tree root growth related to forest restoration is unclear globally. Therefore, a total of 15 plots were established in non-removed and landslide areas of Cupressus funebris and Cryptomeria fortunei plantations near northern section of fault belt of Wenchuan Earthquake (8.0 Ms) occurring in May 12, 2008, China. 112 and 114 small fine roots (≤2.0 mm in diameter) in all the plots were sampled in June and October of 2009. Mean tips length/length, area/ length, volume/length, mean tips length/biomass, specific root area and specific root length in 0.0–0.5, 〉 0.5–1.0 and 〉 1.0–2.0 mm diameters of roots were examined. This study revealed 1) root parameters did not respond to the landslide soils in the June, but did until the October, suggesting after many root tips and tiny roots die in winter, the roots lose sensitivity to a changing soil environment; 2) mean tips length/length and mean tips length/biomass decreased for Cupressus funebris, and increased for Cryptomeria fortunei as well as area/length and volume/length in the landslide soils, implying both species roots have different processes of forest restoration; 3) the smallest sized roots were more sensitive to the landslide soils than the other sized roots, which are better indicators for the forest restoration.
