Abstract:
This study evaluates the prognosis and causes of death in patients definitively treated with resection, radiation, and chemotherapy for intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, stratified by era. Both disease‐specific survival and intrahepatic progression‐free survival have improved for local therapy (resection or radiation)‐based definitive treatment strategies, which may be attributable to maintaining control of intrahepatic disease, thereby reducing the occurrence of death due to liver failure.
