Abstract:
Prolyl hydroxylase domain-containing proteins (PHDs) play pivotal roles in oxygen-sensing system. We demonstrated here that PHD is also a key regulator of inflammation. PHD inhibition strongly attenuated lipopolysaccharide-induced tumor necrosis factor α expression in macrophages. Therefore, PHD inhibition may be a novel strategy for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
