Abstract:
What's new? Female cancer survivors are at increased risk of reproductive dysfunction as they age, owing in part to the long‐term effects of cancer treatment. However, whether female cancer survivors are more likely than their siblings to receive fertility treatments to become pregnant remains unclear. In the present study of Finnish women who survived early‐onset cancer, which included data on fertility drug purchases for survivors and siblings from 1993‐2012, more survivors than siblings were found to have received fertility treatments. Assisted reproductive technology use was notably higher among survivors after 2003. The use of ovulation induction was similar for both groups.
