Abstract:
Metal complexes of manganese(II), iron(II), and nickel(II) chlorides with acrylamide, [M( O ‐OC(NH 2 )CH=CH 2 ) 4 Cl 2 ] (M = Mn ( 1 ), Fe ( 2 ) and Ni ( 3 )), have been prepared and characterized by single crystal X‐ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The complexes crystallize in the cubic space group, ${\rm I}{\bar 4}{\rm 3d}$ . The coordination geometries of the metal centers in all three complexes involve tetragonally distorted octahedral structures with four O‐donor atoms of acrylamide bonded in the equatorial positions and two chlorides in the apical positions.
