    Abstract: Terrestrial tight oil has extremely strong diagenesis heterogeneity, so a large number of rock thin slices are needed to reveal the real microscopic pore-throat structure characteristics. In addition, difficult identification, high cost, long time, strong subjectivity and other problems exist in the identification of tight oil rock thin slices, and it is difficult to meet the needs of fine description and quantitative characterization of the reservoir. In this paper, a method for identifying the characteristics of rock thin slices in tight oil reservoirs based on the deep learning technique was proposed. The present work has the following steps: first, the image preprocessing technique was studied. The original image noise was removed by filtering, and the image pixel size was unified by a normalization technique to ensure the quality of samples; second, the self-labeling image data augmentation technique was constructed to solve the problem of sparse samples; third, the Mask R-CNN algorithm was introduced and improved to synchronize the segmentation and recognition of rock thin slice components in tight oil reservoirs; Finally, it was demonstrated through experiments that the SMR method has significant advantages in accuracy, execution speed and migration.

    Abstract: As one of the most important post-transcriptional modifications, m6Am plays a fairly important role in conferring mRNA stability and in the progression of cancers. The accurate identification of the m6Am sites is critical for explaining its biological significance and developing its application in the medical field. However, conventional experimental approaches are time-consuming and expensive, making them unsuitable for the large-scale identification of the m6Am sites. To address this challenge, we exploit a CatBoost-based method, m6Aminer, to identify the m6Am sites on mRNA. For feature extraction, nine different feature-encoding schemes (pseudo electron–ion interaction potential, hash decimal conversion method, dinucleotide binary encoding, nucleotide chemical properties, pseudo k-tuple composition, dinucleotide numerical mapping, K monomeric units, series correlation pseudo trinucleotide composition, and K-spaced nucleotide pair frequency) were utilized to form the initial feature space. To obtain the optimized feature subset, the ExtraTreesClassifier algorithm was adopted to perform feature importance ranking, and the top 300 features were selected as the optimal feature subset. With different performance assessment methods, 10-fold cross-validation and independent test, m6Aminer achieved average AUC of 0.913 and 0.754, demonstrating a competitive performance with the state-of-the-art models m6AmPred (0.905 and 0.735) and DLm6Am (0.897 and 0.730). The prediction model developed in this study can be used to identify the m6Am sites in the whole transcriptome, laying a foundation for the functional research of m6Am.

    Abstract: The diagenetic facies of tight oil reservoirs reflect the diagenetic characteristics and micro-pore structure of reservoirs, determining the formation and distribution of sweet spot zones. By establishing the correlation between diagenetic facies and logging curves, we can effectively identify the vertical variation of diagenetic facies types and predict the spatial variation of reservoir quality. However, it is still challenging work to establish the correlation between logging and diagenetic facies, and there are some problems such as low accuracy, high time consumption and high cost. To this end, we propose a lithofacies identification method for tight oil reservoirs based on hybrid intelligence using the Fuyu oil layer of the Sanzhao depression in Songliao Basin as the target area. Firstly, the geological characteristics of the selected area were analyzed, the definition and classification scheme of diagenetic facies and the dominant diagenetic facies were discussed, and the logging response characteristics of various diagenetic facies were summarized. Secondly, based on the standardization of logging curves, the logging image data set of various diagenetic facies was built, and the imbalanced data set processing was performed. Thirdly, by integrating CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks) and ViT (Visual Transformer), the C-ViTM hybrid intelligent model was constructed to identify the diagenetic facies of tight oil reservoirs. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through experiments with different thicknesses, accuracy and single-well identification. The experimental results show that the C-ViTM method has the best identification effect at the sample thickness of 0.5 m, with Precision of above 86%, Recall of above 90% and F1 score of above 89%. The calculation result of the Jaccard index in the identification of a single well was 0.79, and the diagenetic facies of tight reservoirs can be identified efficiently and accurately. At the same time, it also provides a new idea for the identification of the diagenetic facies of old oilfields with only logging image data sets.

    Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of liquid embolization agents for treating various hemorrhagic peripheral intracranial aneurysms. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 38 patients who suffered from hemorrhagic peripheral intracranial aneurysms and were treated with liquid embolization agents. We used the modified Rankin scale for follow-up at 6 months postoperatively, and digital subtraction angiography follow-up was performed 6 months postoperatively. Results: Of the 38 patients (ten of simple peripheral intracranial aneurysms, six of Moyamoya disease (MMD), and 22 of arteriovenous malformation (AVM)), posterior circulation accounted for the most significant proportion (57.9%), followed by anterior circulation (21.1%) and intranidal aneurysms (21.1%). Intraoperative hemorrhage occurred in four cases, postoperative cerebral infarction occurred in four cases, two patients encountered microcatheter retention, and intraoperative thrombosis took place in the basilar artery of a patient with an arteriovenous malformation. A postoperative hemorrhage occurred in only one patient. At 6-month follow-up, 84.2% of patients had good prognosis outcomes, and 13.5% had poor outcomes. Conclusion: Liquid embolization agents are effective for hemorrhagic peripheral intracranial aneurysms; however, safety depends on the subtypes. For peripheral hemorrhagic aneurysms in MMD, the vessel architecture must be carefully evaluated before embolization.

    Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin on macular pigment optical density (MPOD) in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) among patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and healthy subjects. Medline, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Library databases was searched through May 2016. Meta-analysis was conducted to obtain adjusted weighted mean differences (WMD) for intervention-versus-placebo group about the change of MPOD between baseline and terminal point. Pearson correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the changes in MPOD and blood xanthophyll carotenoids or baseline MPOD levels. Twenty RCTs involving 938 AMD patients and 826 healthy subjects were identified. Xanthophyll carotenoids supplementation was associated with significant increase in MPOD in AMD patients (WMD, 0.07; 95% CI, 0.03 to 0.11) and healthy subjects (WMD, 0.09; 95% CI, 0.05 to 0.14). Stratified analysis showed a greater increase in MPOD among trials supplemented and combined with meso-zeaxanthin. Additionally, the changes in MPOD were related with baseline MPOD levels (rAMD = −0.43, p = 0.06; rhealthy subjects = −0.71, p 〈 0.001) and blood xanthophyll carotenoids concentration (rAMD = 0.40, p = 0.07; rhealthy subjects = 0.33, p = 0.05). This meta-analysis revealed that lutein, zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin supplementation improved MPOD both in AMD patients and healthy subjects with a dose-response relationship.

    Abstract: We investigated the interfacial properties of symmetric ternary An/AmBm/Bn and An/Am/2BmAm/2/Bn polymeric blends by means of dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) simulations. We systematically analyzed the effects of composition, chain length, and concentration of the copolymers on the interfacial tensions, interfacial widths, and the structures of each polymer component in the blends. Our simulations show that: (i) the efficiency of the copolymers in reducing the interfacial tension is highly dependent on their compositions. The triblock copolymers are more effective in reducing the interfacial tension compared to that of the diblock copolymers at the same chain length and concentration; (ii) the interfacial tension of the blends increases with increases in the triblock copolymer chain length, which indicates that the triblock copolymers with a shorter chain length exhibit a better performance as the compatibilizers compared to that of their counterparts with longer chain lengths; and (iii) elevating the triblock copolymer concentration can promote copolymer enrichment at the center of the interface, which enlarges the width of the phase interfaces and reduces the interfacial tension. These findings illustrate the correlations between the efficiency of copolymer compatibilizers and their detailed molecular parameters.

    Abstract: Ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) is a perennial herb from the genus Panax in the family Araliaceae. It is famous in China and abroad. The biosynthesis of ginsenosides is controlled by structural genes and regulated by transcription factors. GRAS transcription factors are widely found in plants. They can be used as tools to modify plant metabolic pathways by interacting with promoters or regulatory elements of target genes to regulate the expression of target genes, thereby activating the synergistic interaction of multiple genes in metabolic pathways and effectively improving the accumulation of secondary metabolites. However, there are no reports on the involvement of the GRAS gene family in ginsenoside biosynthesis. In this study, the GRAS gene family was located on chromosome 24 pairs in ginseng. Tandem replication and fragment replication also played a key role in the expansion of the GRAS gene family. The PgGRAS68-01 gene closely related to ginsenoside biosynthesis was screened out, and the sequence and expression pattern of the gene were analyzed. The results showed that the expression of PgGRAS68-01 gene was spatio-temporal specific. The full-length sequence of PgGRAS68-01 gene was cloned, and the overexpression vector pBI121-PgGRAS68-01 was constructed. The ginseng seedlings were transformed by Agrobacterium rhifaciens-mediated method. The saponin content in the single root of positive hair root was detected, and the inhibitory role of PgGRAS68-01 in ginsenoside synthesis is reported.

    Abstract: Pancreatic cancer is a highly lethal disease with a poor prognosis. Its early diagnosis and accurate treatment mainly rely on medical imaging, so accurate medical image analysis is especially vital for pancreatic cancer patients. However, medical image analysis of pancreatic cancer is facing challenges due to ambiguous symptoms, high misdiagnosis rates, and significant financial costs. Artificial intelligence (AI) offers a promising solution by relieving medical personnel’s workload, improving clinical decision-making, and reducing patient costs. This study focuses on AI applications such as segmentation, classification, object detection, and prognosis prediction across five types of medical imaging: CT, MRI, EUS, PET, and pathological images, as well as integrating these imaging modalities to boost diagnostic accuracy and treatment efficiency. In addition, this study discusses current hot topics and future directions aimed at overcoming the challenges in AI-enabled automated pancreatic cancer diagnosis algorithms.

    Abstract: The self-built fine water mist fire extinguishing platform studied the fire extinguishing effect of ultra-fine water mist in cold storage fires. The combustible material selected for our experiments is the cold storage insulation material—polystyrene insulation foam board. The combustion characteristics of the insulation board were studied by pyrolysis analysis. We analyzed the temperature, smoke, and other characteristics of the fire scene when a fire occurs in the cold storage and then manipulated the water mist to carry out the fire extinguishing experiment. Experiments aim to change the particle size and pressure of water mist and study the fire extinguishing efficiency of water mist under different conditions. A thorough analysis was used to determine the particle size range of fine water mist most suited for extinguishing fires in cold storage to offer a theoretical foundation for fire protection design.

    Abstract: Panax ginseng is a valuable medicinal herb of the Araliaceae family with various pharmacological activities. The Trihelix transcription factors family is involved in growth and secondary metabolic processes in plants, but no studies have been reported on the involvement of Trihelix genes in secondary metabolic processes in ginseng. In this study, weighted co-expression network analysis, correlation analysis between PgGTs and ginsenosides and key enzyme genes, and interaction network analysis between PgGTs and key enzyme genes were used to screen out the PgGT25-04 gene, which was negatively correlated with ginsenoside synthesis. Using ABA treatment of ginseng hair roots, PgGT genes were found to respond to ABA signals. Analysis of the sequence characteristics and expression pattern of the PgGT25-04 gene in ginseng revealed that its expression is spatiotemporally specific. The interfering vector pBI121-PgGT25-04 containing the PgGT25-04 gene was constructed, and the ginseng adventitious roots were transformed using the Agrobacterium-mediated method to obtain the pBI121-PgGT25-04 positive hairy root monocot line. The saponin contents of positive ginseng hair roots were measured by HPLC, and the changes in PgGT25-04 and key enzyme genes in positive ginseng hair roots were detected via fluorescence quantitative RT-PCR. These results preliminarily identified the role of the PgGT25-04 gene in the secondary metabolism of ginseng in Jilin to provide a theoretical basis for the study of Trihelix transcription factors in Panax ginseng.
