Abstract: Abstract: Purpose:By investigating the variation of the human walking gait kinematics with respect to the foot deformation constraint, prove that bionic design of feet are the necessity for biped robots to imitate human walking better in terms of flexibility, stability and efficiency. The results will be significant for future research and development of biped robots. Methods: A human being was assumed as a perfect biped robot which had ideal motion drive and control. The walking gait parameters of two healthy men with foot deformation unconstrained and constrained were tested respectively by the inertia motion capture suit, and then they were processed by programming and analyzed by comparison. Results: The data analysis showed that when subjects walked with foot deformation constrained, their angular displacements of lower limb joints generally increased, the curves of angular velocity and accelerations fluctuated in certain walking phases, the walking pace and stride length decreased obviously, the single support phase shortened while the double support phase lengthened. At the same time, subjects felt subjectively that their body motion was less flexible, the walking posture was difficult to control, and the walking stability was more strenuous to keep. Conclusion: Combining the logical analogies with the detailed experimentation results, it is inferred that biped robots with rigid feet will have to suffer awkward and unstable walking gait, heavier and strenuous steps, and lower energy efficiency while walking. The paper concludes the necessity of bionic design of the robot feet for improving the walking quality of the biped robots. The conclusion and the experiment data will be of significant value for future work of robot design and evaluation.

Abstract: Friction under vibration condition presents extremely different complex characteristics from that of the conventional state. Practice shows that machine power rises obviously with the significant decrease of the fiction. However, occurrence mechanism of the vibration is not fully studied or revealed; therefore, how to further develop the benefits of vibration, there is no concrete and clear measures yet. From this actual situation, this work want to reveal the characters of nonlinear dynamic of the vibration friction, analyze the relationship between vibration and friction, discuss the impact of vibration’s parameters on the friction mechanism, Theoretical study and experimental verification were conducted to improve the work efficiency of the related equipments with the benefits of the vibration friction.

Abstract: Design and R & D (Research and Development) of products play an important role in development and competitiveness of enterprise. How to do the works better? We think that most advanced product design methodology should be used on design, research and development of products. So-called most advanced product design methodology is that based on “the Scientific Outlook on Development” that we set up recent years. New developments of product design methodology include: At first it has been classified that more than seventy theories and methods proposed by domestic and overseas scholars in recent 100 years; QCTES was instead of IQCTES including six requirements of product design; traditional design stages were replaced with four new stages including investigation, planning, implement and inspection; green design was replaced with harmonious design; traditional design method was replaced with deep-layer design method; concept and connotation of product top-layer design were proposed; more detailed contents of product systematic design were advanced; formulas of complete system and product design quality, and connection equation between design objective, design content and design method were submitted. We got good effects to apply above product design methodology on many product designs recent years.

Abstract: In this work, the numerical equation has been established to simulate the vibratory compaction system based on the hysteresis loop of Davidenkov and with the gap ignored between the piston and the materials, and the dynamical characteristics and influence of parameters on the vibration compaction effect were analyzed with different stiffness, damping, amplitude and mass with different water saturation. The two types of experiments were carried out to study the dynamical characteristics and validate the numerical analysis and simulation. The first type of experiments was done with the different exciting vibration amplitude. A second type of experiments was done with the different water saturation (3%, 8% and 17%) instead of the stiffness and damping. The numerical and experimental results show that the equivalent natural frequency and vibration amplitude of the system increased with the stiffness, exciting amplitude increased and damping decreased. The experimental results agree well with results from a theoretical model in general. The research results will be used in intelligent soil compaction in the future.

Abstract: Based on the model of effective friction coefficient, the change tendency of effective friction coefficient under different harmonic forces and the method of improving its decrease rate have been studied. The model of vibratory piling machine has been taken as a research object for friction reduction, and the stress of soil particles and the situation of friction resistance on pile surface have been analyzed while sinking the pile. The effect on interface friction of pile-soil system under vibration, caused by the depth of pile sinking, pile structure parameters and vibration acceleration, has also been studied, so that an effective method of decreasing interface friction can be found. Thus, the sinking efficiency would be improved by being analyzed, evaluated and parameter optimized.

Abstract: In recent one century more than 60 design methods of products have been proposed and most of them can satisfy the one or several requirements of the general qualities only. So it is necessary to develop some synthesized design method, which can satisfy requirements of general synthesized qualities of product. Up to now, several scientists and technologists have done their efforts to study several synthesized design methods in order to satisfy more requirements of users. These methods are comprehensive design method, QFD method, taguchi design method, axiomatic design method, etc. Based on the classification of the design methods, we have proposed a new synthesized design method, named 1+3+X. The present method meet the need of customers for different general synthesized qualities of product including main and supplementary functions, structural performances, working performances and manufacturing performances and the first 1 is functional optimum design, the 3 are the dynamic optimum design, intelligent design and visual design to satisfy structural performances, working performances and manufacturing performances respectively, and the X is the design to satisfy other requirements.

Abstract: Linear rolling guide is one of the most essential parts of the NC modern machine tools, and they play a significant supporting and guiding role in machine tools components. Especially, the joint surface between guides has great influence on machine's dynamic characteristics. According to this, in this work, taken the Japanese THK Corporation's SNS35LR rolling guide as specific study object, the finite element model of guide pair has been established with the joint surface influence considered. And by the method of the theoretical analysis with the experimental confirmation combined; the dynamic characteristics of the linear rolling guide pair's were studied relatively. Thus, the theoretical model and the finite element model established in this paper can be confirmed by the experiment. It has been found that the theoretical models established are consistent with the results of experiment. This study results can provide useful guidance for the dynamic analysis and the structure optimization of CNC machine tools, and numerical simulation in engineering and design in the development of such machines with rolling guide used.

Abstract: Vibratory pile driver-extractor is broadly applied in civil constructions, but the friction vibration theory and dynamic characteristics of friction vibration are not studied well. In this paper, the vibration friction characteristics and dynamics of pile driving process are studied based on nonlinear dynamics and friction theory. A dynamic model of system is established firstly, and then nonlinear dynamic principle and working process are studied in details. The simulation results can provide useful guidance for both vibration friction research in engineering and design in the development of such machines.

Abstract: A two-dimensional cellular automaton (CA) model is developed to simulate damage and fracture morphology evolution on the mesoscale in materials. The plastic convection of damage is mapped onto the CA lattice, and initiation, propagation and coalescence of damage are simulated with a local rule-based scheme of a probability cellular automaton. The model includes known physical distinctions of fracture behavior between microcracks and microvoids, and they are characterized by modifying the probability rule of the cellular automaton. The simulations provide visual insight to understand how those physical processes dynamically progress and they affect the damage evolution in materials. The modeling can be used to link micromechanical models to continuum damage models.
