Abstract:
Compared with a younger control group, patients aged ≥40 years who have disseminated germ cell cancer and receive standard chemotherapy with bleomycin, etoposide, and cisplatin have increased cancer‐specific mortality compared with a younger control group and decreased overall survival compared with the expected survival for the general population. This increased mortality is not caused by treatment toxicity or reduced doses of cisplatin/etoposide.
