Abstract:
The pH of the salivary glands, midgut I, midgut II, midgut contents, hindgut and malpighian tubules of Dasineura lini amounted to 6.3–6.6, 6.6, 6.6–6.8, 7.0–7.2, 7.2 and 6.0 till 6.1 respectively. The salivary gland secretes amylase and invertase. Amylase, maltase, invertase and lipase were present in midgut regions of the larva of D. lini. None of the enzymes is present in the midgut contents, hindgut and malpighian tubule.
