Abstract:
What's new? Previous studies have demonstrated a relationship between clinical outcomes following curative resection for colorectal cancer and gene mutations of the EGFR pathway. However, so far no studies have focused on metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients with metastasectomy. The aim of this study was thus to evaluate the relationship between gene mutations of the EGFR pathway and clinical outcomes following metastasectomy in mCRC patients. The results show that RAS mutation predicts shorter overall survival after metastasectomy in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. No association between recurrence free survival and gene mutation of the EGFR pathway was observed.
